First of all: the food is fantastic, the location away from the crowds is no problem because as a guest you receive a Walser Card with which you can travel on the bus for free. Why the bad rating anyway? The beds are worse than in a Bundeswehr barracks 25 years ago. Through the completely sagging "trough mattress" you can feel the individual ventilation holes in the unyielding support board underneath. The tile joints in the shower room in our family room are black with mold and smelly. Harmful to health. The sockets in the room are so worn out that you are afraid to leave a cell phone charger plugged in at night. But the most annoying thing is the fight for a seat in the dining room. Because 90% of the places are reserved for large groups/classes. Actually only for fixed times, but it is in God's hands whether the supervisors/teachers stick to them. The latter quickly notice that they have freedom in this regard and take advantage of this. This leaves 16 unreserved seats for around 40-50 individual travelers or families. The end of the story is that you have to wait and worry about whether you will be able to get a seat at the same table with your five-year-old child. Even though you pay a higher price per person than the classes.Personally, that really ruins my family vacation.

Location is great, but rooms are not very well maintained nor cleaned. In the private bathroom there were several small insects, the bathrooms accessible for everyone were very smelly, and sleep was cut short by the noise coming from the breakfast room. Service was rude at times. Unfortunately not good value for money.

We stayed in this youth hostel from June 15th to June 16th, 2024. The location is great. To Allgäu Coaster - a toboggan run only 10 minutes. To Austria only about 15 minutes by car. The main road will be rebuilt from Monday to Friday so it will be rerouted. The hostel is a bit older. The doors are difficult to close. But pillows and blankets are good. The breakfast was sensational. Lots of organic products. The rolls are fresh from the bakery. Very good breakfast. Dinner was ok too. 3 dishes to choose from and tea was ok. There was a lot of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and much more in the salad bar.For a cheap price it's ok. Downstairs they have a games room with billiards and table tennis. Was good! We also got the Allgäu Waltz tickets.

I stayed here as a guest for one night before starting my Alpine crossing on the E5. A little biased by the negative reviews, I was more than positively surprised here. Friendly reception and uncomplicated check-in and check-out procedures. The room was simple but perfectly adequate. We had a ladies-only room and everyone could safely store their valuables with a coin locker (1/2€). There were two sinks and two or three electrical outlets in the room. The bathrooms were adapted to a youth hostel, simple but clean. The breakfast was more than satisfactory for a youth hostel! Absolute recommendation! Versatile, large selection and everything freshly prepared! Everyone will find something here :) Further information about the food can also be found in the pictures. There is a drinking water dispenser with still and sparkling water that you can use at any time. When I left, upon request, a bus ticket to the train station was printed out for me free of charge. Bus stop about 5 minutes walk.A great place for children to run around and be children :)Price-performance ratio is great in my opinion, I would come here again!

The rooms are simple but clean and functional. Bathroom in the room, clean and completely fine. The location is great as a starting point but also just like that: you can play in the yard without cars, there are two large meadows and a campfire area, a "stube" with games, refrigerator, microwave, television and a children's playroom. There is also a games room for the older ones with billiards etc. (chargeable). The staff is consistently friendly and helpful. We will be back!

A large youth hostel, rooms in a quiet family area suits. The cleanliness, especially in the bathroom, leaves a lot to be desired, there was some mold on the walls. …
