The brewery and inn zum Engel GmbH & Co. KG in Waldstetten is a true gem! The combination of traditional crafts and warm hospitality makes every visit an unforgettable experience. The home-brewed beers are of the highest quality and delight with their unique taste. The food in the inn is also excellent - fresh, regional ingredients and loving preparation ensure culinary enjoyment. The rustic, cozy atmosphere and the attentive staff complete the overall picture perfectly. A place where you immediately feel comfortable and would like to come back! Absolutely recommended!

We had an overnight stay here in 2019 and were very positive about it. That's why we booked here again this year. However, due to heavy snowfall in Austria we had to cancel our holiday and therefore cancel this hotel. I tried to bring the booking forward by 2 days, but that was not possible. Due to the force majeure of the bad weather, I was unable to cancel free of charge. I could have accepted it if they had only charged the room costs, but now I was also charged for the breakfast I did not enjoy.Hence certainly "Golden" Angel.So never book here again.

First the good things, the food was very tasty.The service was unfortunately completely overwhelmed, but always friendly. 45 minutes to get a drink, 2 hours to wait for a meal is a far cry from a well-organized restaurant.There was no apology. It seems normal here.Maybe it would be better to accept fewer reservations and provide a reasonable service.It's no fun for the guests!

We stayed here for one night because we were visiting Legoland. The boss is extremely friendly and very helpful. The room was small but very clean and the bathroom was very modern and also very clean. The breakfast is more than sufficient and very nicely prepared. I would book it again and can only recommend it.Thank you for the hospitality!

Very clean rooms, beds were a bit hard. The staff was really great, thought of other options while own restaurant was closed because of flooding. She even gave us a ride to the nearest restaurant. Nice beers and calm surroundings.

Regarding your post. Nausea is known to occur about 30-60 minutes after eating so your comment is complete nonsense. You don't have to taste the asparagus before serving. It is enough to taste a sample before the shift begins. But since I'm not the first to complain about the asparagus, maybe you should change the supplier.And if your chef is standing at the pass and there is a schnitzel that is so dark, he has to intervene and not let the guest see it. I have over 30 years of kitchen experience in the catering industry and so I know what I'm talking about. But in the morning at breakfast I saw what was going on in her kitchen. For hygiene reasons, no one is allowed to enter the kitchen in street clothes, including breakfast staff, who wear chef's trousers, a chef's jacket and safety shoes. Above all, no guest is allowed to enter the kitchen and help prepare spaetzle dough. I wonder what the health department says about this.Your comments in response to my criticism are completely inappropriate. As hosts, you should be open to it and improve from it or not comment on it at all, at least that's what Frank Rosin and Christian Rach would tell you.

I was really happy that asparagus was on the menu. However, I was very disappointed. The two products that you could eat were purchased products. The asparagus was woody, bitter and unfortunately looked like it had been freeze-burned. The schnitzel was fried for too long and therefore very dark and dry. I told the waitress and didn't have to pay for dessert. However, getting a refund of €7 for a dish that cost €20 is a disgrace. After eating I hung in front of the toilet and vomited. Unfortunately I can't post the pictures I took, so you can see exactly what I described here. It was just scary. I haven't eaten so badly in a long time.

Unfortunately, the service on the terrace is sometimes a bit variable. We have been there several times now, sometimes quickly and well. The next time it was less and much more chaotic.

Had a communion that had been registered for several weeks. We had to wait over two hours for food. When we wanted to know how long it would take, the answer was that there are three other communions and because we were the last to come, we have to wait until the others are finished. Embarrassing for the hosts. One guest even had to leave before he could eat. Absolute no go.The employees were otherwise very friendly.

Unfortunately a disappointmentThe waiting time too long. Two soups we ordered came 30 minutes apart. The dishes were all lukewarm. The meat was undercooked and the asparagus was unfortunately only half cooked and therefore not edible. The sauce from the package was lumpy, the cheese spaetzle was soggy. Unfortunately the service was very lackluster and you had to ask for everything several times. Some things were completely forgotten. It's a shame, but there is a better alternative locally.Addendum: I think your response to my factual criticism speaks for itself. Unfortunately, the service did not respond to the complaints. By the way: I've been an adult for quite a while, so I don't want to be called by you. And last but not least, I'm not entirely alone in my assessment when I look at the other reviews. Tastes vary, but as far as I know, expressing opinions and objective criticism are not yet punishable in Germany. All the best.

We stayed at the Gasthof Engel with friends on Saturday/Sun and were very satisfied overall. Room + bathroom spotlessly clean. The beds were very good and comfortable.We were warmly welcomed by the senior manager and the breakfast on Sunday was very good. The junior boss is also happy to accommodate special requests.The staff was friendly.The four of us agreed “we’ll be back”.Thank you very much ;)Your Glasers

I was able to stay and eat well here. The naturally cloudy Zwickelbier was very tasty.Only the shower, the expert has to go to it again! The entire bathroom was under water.
