Very central in Badenweiler. The rooms are very old - but quite expensive. But they are big.The staff is very friendly - that's why the 3 stars. The restaurant is definitely not appropriate for its prices. 60 euros for the 3-course menu - and then we sat in the dark, cold back room that was somehow not really part of the restaurant's action. We had our first drink (besides water) after more than 30 minutes. It was an hour before the first meal. 2 hours until the main course. That's just not possible given the prices. The quality of the food is good in itself - but the price/performance ratio wasn't 100% right for me either. In the big city you can definitely eat better for the same price.

We chose the Romantik Hotel zur Sonne as a stopover on our way to France... and it was the best choice we could have made. …

The new hosts are fantastic and very friendly and attentive. The associated restaurant has an amazing menu with a star level. Only recommended.

We stayed in this beautiful, cozy hotel as a small group over the weekend. The new owners (the Birks family) are very hospitable and warm-hearted and take great care of their guests and their wishes. The rooms differ slightly in their furnishings and some have been renovated in a modern way.For dinner we each had a 3-course menu and a 5-course menu. For breakfast there was a rich and lovingly prepared buffet. The staff both in the evening and at breakfast were always friendly and helpful. We felt completely comfortable.

This hotel is a place to feel good.We had a BellaVista room with a kitchenette and a small balcony.Even though our room was on the street it was very quiet.Very good mattresses and sufficient pillows. The interior is stylish and the room is very spacious with a seating area. The Birks couple and their team are perfect hosts. Friendly with open ears for our wishes - and that with a group of 30 people. The breakfast was very lovingly prepared and left nothing to be desired. We'll definitely be back.

Unfortunately, the young boss of the house is not overly friendly, even though he should be. If you spend several days in the hotel and you don't eat in the restaurant every evening, you will be ignored and no longer greeted. The prices in the restaurant, the food and drinks, are far overpriced. The rooms are different, if renovated then ok. The breakfast is only very good on weekends, during the week it is slimmed down.

Today, August 7, 24, we went out to eat in the sun in Badenweiler again after a long time. What can I say, it was sunny and today it was a bit cloudy :-(They are new owners and we now have a few questions that unfortunately have not been answered!Firstly, why can we only make a reservation at 7pm when there are many empty seats outside and inside?Secondly, if we come at 7 p.m. and it's a beautiful evening outside with very pleasant temperatures, why can't you eat outside despite the sunshine? Do you get the answer, it's still coming to rain??!Thirdly, the food is wonderfully prepared, but we can expect a lot for the price!Unfortunately it was not justified, prawns were partially burned! If I hadn't said something emphatically to the waiter, there would have been no reaction! When I asked the owners about it, they said no time are busy???Too bad 😞I'm really not a stubborn person but it's not professional and it's not worth the money...A pity .
