This was absolutely theWORST experience as a hotel guest that I have had in my life, and I am 60 years old! (please see all photos)Where to begin??When we arrived, the staff were very unfriendly, unwelcoming and did not have anyone at thereception, I had to go around looking for someone. No one offered any help with our suitcases or even showing you where the room was.l told the staff that I had received an emergency call and to return home the next day as night was approaching and in the mean time I had to call my brother to deal with the emergency. The management were not bothered and had no sympathy, and did not show any caring, and all they were interested in was the fact that I had booked online therefore I had to stay and pay in full, I asked if I could cancel, and was told THAT WAS NOT POSSIBLE. I later that night found out online that the hotel had a cancellation process in place. I cancelled my second night but was still charged the FULL REFUND AND WAS CHARGED FOR 1 NIGHT!!!!!!!!PURE GREED!!!I paid £210 through Hotels.com for 2 nights, for Allegedly 'A Superior Room, With a King Size Bed'. I got TINY ROOM with 2 singleBEDS PUSHED TOGETHER, when l asked the staff aboutmy room, apparently that was a Superior Room With A King size Bed!"!!! The shower door did not shut properly and the room did not smell nice. Even the clean towels did not smell fresh.(PLEASE SEE PHOTOS)THERE WAS HAIR FOUND ON THE BEDDING!(please see photos)Even though WiFi is one of the things advertised, there is none, it doesn't work at all, when I complained the manager connected me to another network which struggled to get 1-2 Megabit per second, the manage response was 'at least WhattApp will work'!The food was mediocre at best, I ordered Steak(medium rare) and chips, my wife had fish, the steak was over cooked and dryl didn't finish it), my wife's fish had so much salt that it was inedible. The chips were obviously cooked in old used oil as you could taste it. Breakfast was buffet, not very nice, very cheap, with overcooked bacon and dry ed out eggs that had sat under the heater light too long. The only decent thing was the very polite nice waiter. The allegedly 'Breathtaking Views' were an absolute non truth, firstly this hotel is in the middle of a village with other properties all around, the view out of my window was basically the water tank, a bench and the property behind! The online photos of the hotel are very deceiving.(please see photos)The hotel conveniently omitted to inform us before arrival that half of the hotel was being renovated and the builders and building equipment could see it in plain view.Parking is across the street, they don't tell you that either. There was a bad odour throughout the hotel, it smelt unpleasant the whole hotel is very out dated and not particularly clean.THIS WAS THE WORST HOTELTHAT I HAVE STAYED IN ALL MY LIFE, GLAD I HAD TO LEAVE EARLY.Finally, I can't prove it but I distinctly heard the sound and scratching of a mouse in my room at 2 am.

It felt like they didn't want to have ma as a visitor. They made me cancel my booking at Booking and said they would arrange another room. They never arranged it and I kept getting "we'll be back to you"I guess that people with a color are not welcome here.

We spent a night here with my husband and we had a fabulous time. The room we got was comfortable, big enough and well equipped. The dinner was amazing. Both of us were very pleased with our dishes and the prices were normal too. |We would definitely return if we planned another trip in the region. |Thank you! :)

We recently had the pleasure of dining here, the food was excellent, the service and cleanliness likewise. We also had a fantastic experience on Christmas Eve with a multi national (predominantly German) array of guests. …

We used this Hotels' restaurant whilst staying nearby, unfortunately we arrived on a Wednesday which is the only day they are closed. Our party of four used the restaurant for evening meals for the next two nights. …

If you find yourself in Schwarzwald, stay here! The hotel & decor are very traditional, but everything is super clean and unbelievably cozy- each room is different from the next and the restaurant/breakfast area is very cute as well. …

A nice hotel with friendly staff. Most of them speak a decent level of English. The breakfast was nice, dinner was decent but nothing out of the ordinary. The rooms were good, but no climate control which might be a problem on hot summer days.
