My uncle and his family booked rooms here when they visited us. They made the reservation online based on photos and price. However, the building is very old, and the rooms are quite small. If you’re on a tight budget, looking for a cheap accommodation and don’t mind making some adjustments, it might be acceptable. Just don’t expect much.

This is a great spot next to Freiburg. Right by the river and walking distance to the old town. For the price, we have nothing to complain about. The interior is a little old, and the bedding material is not comfortable if you care about those things. The wooden floor can be noisy at night, and you can smell the cigarette if someone smokes nearby. Our stay was relatively pleasant since we just needed a place to stay, and across the street there is a bakery to get morning coffee.

Lovely experience being the last customers ever. The hotel closed forever as soon as we checked-out. Lovely people who cared about us and their business. Good luck for your future 🙏🏻

Helpful and polite receptionist. Rooms are pretty old and outdated however clean. 5 minutes walking to center, insufficient parking place. Bakery across the street has some nice stuff to eat and coffee for breakfast.

Lovely tradition old hotel near old town centre.Nice big, bright room.Only lost a star for shower curtain (that kept sticking to me) & no grab rail for climbing out of deep bath.4 stops on tram no1 from rail station. I love integrated transport/travel.

The location of the hotel is very good, only few minutes walk from Schwabentor and all restaurants in the old town. We also got a room from 3rd floor facing the old town, so the view was good. …

Not great. No internet connection in every room. Extremely cheap soap. Badly isolated windows. Heating is not enough. Even if the hotel is fairly clean, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone I consider my friend. There are way better options in town for the same price.

Just got home after spending 5 days in Freiburg at Hotel Schiller. I have to say I was very impressed. It had a lift (amazing for Europe's old building standards) Very clean and in the BEST location possible. Close to town yet not in the thick of it. In a very sweet residential area surrounded by many quaint restaurants and places to shop and feel local. The staff was amazing although the owner does not speak perfect English we made it work. If you are looking for an affordable safe quaint hotel with not a ton of amenities but a ton of charm and a great location to trams and walking distance to city center this is your place. Bonus is it has a bar in the hotel for those late afternoon libations to take to your room to relax and look out the window of your room and enjoy German life.As far as traffic noise, yes it is located on a major street but since we went in winter we heard nothing except maybe a siren once in awhile due to very thick windows. Our room was facing the side street overlooking the butcher and pastry store so NO complaints..Can't speak for summer noise and no air conditioning but the heat was perfect in our room.

Lovely hotel, great location close by parking (we came by car), with nice large rooms and a bath tub in the bathroom!Only down side, totally out of hotel's control, was we were on the street and at night and early morning were woken slightly by sounds of party revellers and a delivery truck for the bakery across the road.Otherwise great place with friendly staff. Wonderful place to base your visit to Freiburg out of.

Old and run down rooms. I requested a quiet room and got one directly above the busy street. It was very loud. The breakfast is pricey with 9,50€ and you get not a lot for your money. A bunch if cheap cereals, bread, two cheeses, three different cold cuts, eggs and five slices of bacon for all the guests. café latte is extra.Would not recommend a stay here.
