Great hotel, just outside the town, but the walk in is not far and there is a lovely beer garden on the way. The rooms were comfortable and we had a nice meal in the evening. Breakfast was really nice, would recommend.

RoomsThink 1970s. Dated but nice. Clean and tidy, enough plug sockets to charge devices, and the bathroom met expectations.ParkingThere were enough spaces, but it was closeStaffThe staff at this quaint hotel were not desirable. They seemed grumpy, and were slow to get anything doneBreakfastI wouldn’t recommend getting breakfast on site, as the village close to this place is amazing. The breakfast on site had a lot to be desired. The choices were minimal and included toast, croissants, eggs and cereal. The cereal tastes old and stale.

A little outside of Rothenburg, we found this gem. The jagerschnitzel and pork cordon bleu were outstanding! My daughter stuck to the basics…rice and tomato soup, lol. Service went well…they even spoke some English…which helped. Would definitely return here.

Great hotel with comfortable antique rooms, tasty breakfast, warm and welcoming hosts, large central lobby with sofas to unwind on and hang out with your group at night, and lovely pictures on the wall of the old town of Rothenburg and Detwang to give you a sense of history. The stay is wonderful thanks to the river and a town church's lovely sound of flowing water and morning church bell calls. The host is really friendly and will provide you recommendations for the top tourist sights in the area along with a manual guide and maps, which is the nicest part.Apart from the hotel stay, the food was my personal favorite part of the trip. We were vegetarians, and the hotel staff was wonderful in serving us and recommending that we order the vegetarian French Ratatouille, which was absolutely mouthwatering and served with salty steam rice that perfectly complemented the dish. The Rothenburg main market is around 2 kilometers away and can be reached on foot in about 30 minutes. Since there is no local transportation that frequently drives through the neighborhood and you do not wish to walk, you must possess a vehicle.

We needed a place to spend the night on our way back home. Great location close to the Highway. Rooms are bit outdated, but very much according to expectation and the general atmosphere of a “Gasthof”. Room and bathrooms is very clean, beds are comfortable. Breakfast(buffet) is great; multiple choices of bread, even some sweet bread. Loads of choice in cheese, meats, fresh eggs and sweet toppings. Fresh fruits and yoghurt and of course coffee and tea is available. The restaurant is also reccomendable for having dinner.

I eat the lamb... Half cold potato things that seen to come from the lidl. No veg.. But the lamb was okay. My wife had the schnitzel with spatzle that should have been a traditional southern German course... It looked like a dead omelette.Very disappointing. This is the second time that the German cooking has disappointed.... And the price for the lamb.... 24€... Extremely expensive for meat with no veg.Look further if you can.
