Note: the majority of the good reviews seem to be from the time before the operator change in 2024.We celebrated our wedding in Mettingen last month.Some of our guests wanted to book rooms at the Harmony House. Unfortunately, the operator was overwhelmed by keeping track of the number of rooms available.A few days before our wedding, when our guests asked, we noticed that the hotel was hopelessly overbooked and some guests were cancelled.Unfortunately, the operator also forgot to note some of the guests who had booked by phone and email immediately after the takeover, so we were only able to get information about who could get a room and who couldn't only after repeated inquiries.After we had the complete occupancy list of his house less than two weeks before the celebration, some guests who had actually booked there and had confirmations had to spontaneously look for other accommodation.Unfortunately, the occupancy list he sent did not match the guests booked in the system, so that a couple who had a cancellation via Booking.com and who were not on the booking list sent to us are now denied a refund because they did not take up the room became.In contact with the guests, the operator was rude to unfriendly, both when making inquiries over the phone and when contacting them on site.The rooms appeared to be sparsely cleaned, and in some cases there was no hot water. When the guests pointed this out, they just snapped at them.In short, breakfast was a joke. Small, dry frozen baked rolls, discounter cold cuts and fruit/yoghurt in a very manageable quantity. It's better to go to the local bakery.It's a shame that the hotel, which was rated so well, has gone downhill so much since the change of tenant. The location is really great, but the guests who slept in other hotels in the town or in nearby neighboring towns were all satisfied, while the guests from Haus Harmonie unfortunately all spent the weekend with a bad aftertaste.Great location, the rest was a flop.

We stayed in this hotel for 1 nightspent. Rooms very nice, hotel service friendly and attentive. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent at very moderate prices. But the breakfast was rudimentary. For €10I expect a little more per person than baked rolls from the cheapest frozen goods, sliced cheese and sausage from discount stores and a few slices of tomatoes and cucumbers. The coffee was so thin that the bottom of the cup was visible, no toast, let alone other types of bread. No fruit, no eggs. A few cereals and jams as well as a tiny amount of yoghurt and an unsalted scrambled egg served carelessly in a pot upon request could not save the poor overall impression. We will be happy to come back. But skip this breakfast in the future and have breakfast at the bakery around the corner for less money.

There were a lot of problems with the reservation. When we asked, they said we would call back, but there was no call back. The room was fine, but the trash can wasn't emptied and there was an overflowing ashtray in front of the window. The staff was friendly, but at breakfast we had to wait a long time for everything to be refilled. The tables weren't cleared either.

Change of operator since the beginning of 2024: unfortunately it can be seen that the high quality of the predecessor is far from being achieved by the new operator when it comes to food. We were extremely disappointed.Although the staff tried hard and the service was ok, the food was unworthy of the ambience and history of this establishment.Unfortunately everything is oversalted and classifies as convenience in terms of taste. Schnitzel breading sticky to mushy, the cordon bleu from the frozen bag and the wine sauce from the Tetra Pak. System gastronomy is called something like this in New German.We commented to the waitress that the food was very salty, but the boss, who noticed this and charged us, ignored our complaint.Since this operator runs two other restaurants and the menus of all three locations are virtually the same, it is to be expected that there will be no improvement.It's a shame about the really great location...Next visit, occasion funeral:Unfortunately, we didn't leave a good impression again: the service was dressed almost irreverently for the occasion (“fun shirt”) and there weren't enough sets for the guests.There was a plate of sandwiches and a plate of cake per table. Replenishments were only given when we asked if something else could be brought. The same applied to coffee.Unfortunately, it was sad to see that the grieving family had to independently collect leftover sandwiches and cakes for their own table with empty plates.Didn't work at all.

Hotel/room was booked in January. Reachability by phone is terrible. Pretty good via email.Rooms are clean and sufficient. (EZ), breakfast is sufficient, everything from scrambled eggs, bacon, muesli so you'll be full.Unfortunately I forgot something at the hotel. I've been trying to reach someone for a few hours. None.

Luckily I didn't stay in the hotel myself.For my son's wedding, 11 rooms were reserved in the last 3-12 months. Booking confirmations were only available for telephone reservations upon express request. 18 hours!!! Before the wedding it was announced that the hotel was overbooked. After several nerve-racking phone calls, 10 out of 11 rooms were accepted. When the guests checked in, rooms were missing again, which was resolved after some guests waited up to an hour. Rooms have been assigned. This was obviously due to the fact that the service staff from the restaurant could not cope with the obviously disorganized allocation of rooms. According to several guests, the friendliness of the owner seemed to be limited. When I asked the owner, he told me that the difficulties were due to bookings on different platforms (booking,...). I wonder how other accommodations manage it. In addition, an overbooking must have been known earlier than 18 hours before check-in. It was very annoying and cost a lot of nerves!Addendum to the statement from the owner:From the owner's answer it is already clear that this is unfortunately unprofessionalmanaged business. Given the chaos, it is understandable that one or two of the guests who had traveled a long way were a bit annoyed. The guest should be king!!! For the overbooked rooms due to the owner's fault, we should have alternative options of 18 hours!!! search before arrival. Only after a nerve-wracking discussion did they take action. Statements to guests like “...if you are too stupid to reserve a room...” are absolutely worthless!!!! When such a high number of guests arrive and (sorry I have to mention it again at this point) 18 hours!!! Since such chaos was known before check-in, it would have been more advisable to be there yourself as the owner. If one had suspected the unprofessionalism, the hotel would definitely not have been the choice.The good to very good reviews were written at the time of the former owner! Since the takeover at the beginning of the year, bad reviews have been written about the accommodation and the restaurant. Unfortunately, we didn't pay attention to the recessions. Since the breakfast also left something to be desired, these reviews can be partially understood. Unfortunately, this approach to paying guests is doomed to failure.
