Beautiful castle hotel, rooms very large due to the high ceilings. The rooms could use a little more warmth in terms of design. In addition, in my room the switch for the sockets on my bed was hidden behind the bed where you couldn't get to it. Had to use a long stick to turn it off. Staff is nice and friendly. The environment is very beautiful and large. I didn't try breakfast. The restaurant is okay. The staff there is also very friendly.

We stayed at Schloss Westerholt before and after our wedding and were overall satisfied. The large room was perfectly prepared for the bride and groom to get dressed and ready. The room was a bit old, but it was perfectly fine. The location was ideal for photos, both indoors and outdoors - especially with the great weather. The staff were relaxed and friendly, which added to the relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast the next morning was OK, but could have been a little better. Overall, a lovely experience in a fantastic setting!

Very nice employees. Unfortunately, it is very old. Unfortunately, mold, dust and defective elements predominate.Supplement after 5 years. The hotel threatens bad reviews with defamation lawsuits. And tried to have Google delete them. Subjectively speaking, this seems to be successful, as many negative reviews, and perhaps fear, have disappeared.

I am very disappointed.Due to a Movie Park stay, we visited the hotel for 2 nights (August 22nd - August 24th).The restaurant? Well, to pass off a children's portion of pasta as an adult portion and to take the normal price, where even the waiter to me was surprised about the size and asked the chef because of my question, and this was actually mentioned as an adult portion, I got it from waiter 2 Received portions of cake. The evening before I wanted to have a drink in the restaurant. I only received the card when I asked and was only able to order when asked again.As a guest you are probably not a king, but a court jester?The castle itself is kept extremely careless. Both from the outside and from the inside. It's very dirty inside. The carpet was extremely (!!!) dirty in many places. A beverage refrigerator stands with the cable and the electrical side facing the front. Very dangerous!The room? Well.... According to the booking we received a 4 bed room. However, there was a double bed with 2 bunks added... Hmm?The room itself is also very dangerous. The TV wasn't plugged in. The cable hung openly accessible. The cable box for the television hung halfway out of the wall at a good height. An extension cord was plugged in and laid across the floor. We don't know what they wanted to tell us. What was that intended for? No idea. Maybe for the TV, since the cable didn't fit into a socket anywhere.If you plugged a power plug into the sockets, you would get a short shock from one socket.The only positive thing about the room was the bathroom.The room door was also very difficult to close. We had 4 moments where we were in the room and the door just opened again.The reception itself was nice, but you had to ignore any information that would have been normal. We also had to look for the ladies at both check-in and check-out. Someone from the restaurant started the check-in because the lady couldn't be found.I would not recommend the location to Movie Park visitors who come without a car. It takes over an hour to get there by public transport. By taxi you pay around 32-38 euros per trip (we took 3 times, so we know the prices).I also asked the lady from housekeeping that we come back on August 23rd. no cleaning and no one to go into the room as my husband had a bad cold and was in bed with a fever. Nevertheless, the lady stormed into the room 3 times that day.It was really an unpleasant stay!

We stayed at this hotel for a nearby birthday and were more than disappointed.The two rooms were not ready for occupancy, although according to the website check-in was possible from 2 p.m. Since we were invited to an event, we didn't have the opportunity to get ready in the room. The rooms were not ready until around 5:30 p.mThis isn't the end of the world, but you can at least expect a clean room. When we came to the hotel at night, there were dirty cutlery in the sink and a full garbage bag including pizza boxes and an unpleasant smell in the trash can. There was also an additional bed set up (which we hadn't ordered?), which obviously wasn't freshly made. This gave the impression that the entire room had not been cleaned properly or at all, despite the late check-in.In addition, the refrigerator didn't seem to be working as we had to throw away all the food we had left there the next morning.When we asked at checkout whether this inconvenience could somehow be taken into account when billing, we were told that the lady was not in a position to make this decision because she was only a trainee. This really surprised us, as a trainer always has to be on site.It's nice to exploit your trainees on unpopular working days and not even provide a trainer. Dehoga is informed.Attempts to contact the manager remained unanswered. Then you should probably Don't run a hotel if you don't feel like it.All in all a very bad experience, we won't be coming back.

The hotel and the surrounding area are very beautiful. I have visited it several times over the last 20 years. But this time we had two annoying experiences. Firstly, we took a suite so that we could work in peace during our two-day stay. Unfortunately, the spacious anteroom with a desk and comfortable chairs was full of an additional double bed and a folding bed. We specifically booked for two people, not five!!! We ended up working from the bedroom, the money for the suite was unnecessary. The other problem was that a member of staff knocked on our door at 9:50am on the last day and asked us to vacate the rooms in 10 minutes. Although check out is at 11am on Sundays. Something like that absolutely doesn't work.It was a mistake by the employee and the lady at the reception apologized.But if the staff doesn't even know when check-out is... Don't book a suite unless there are five of you. You won't get any value for your money.

We sat down in the beer garden with a small child. The child wanted ice cream and we wanted drinks. The drinks came first and we only got the ice cream when we asked. Oh forgot was said. Peanuts were good in the cookie ice cream because our child doesn't have a peanut allergy. Maybe inform the customer. Since when are there peanuts in cookie ice cream?

The hotel almost borders on impertinent. The room probably cost more than double this weekend due to a concert. I can handle that. But even for a tenth of the price the price-performance ratio wouldn't be right for a 4-star hotel.The lampshades above the bed and the curtain in the bathroom are full of stains. We also had three spiders in the room, and the bathroom was simply a disaster: the floor was dirty, the outside of the shower was rusting, and there were limescale stains in the shower that had probably been there for quite a long time (see photos).Thanks to the polite cleaning staff and the courteous tattooed waiter in the restaurant, it gets an extra star.

The Hotel Schloss Westerholt with a restaurant and a golf club is in a very idyllic location. The castle is beautiful to look at from the outside. We sat on the sun terrace to enjoy a delicious waffle with chocolate sauce and ☕. Service was friendly and attentive.

The offer sounded okay for a “castle hotel”. Expensive but tempting. But the experience was sobering. Worn and carelessly furnished. The room without any comfort. Soft and old mattress and a dilapidated bed. So not recommended. The price is a disgrace.

This review refers exclusively to the restaurant!!! We had booked a table for 5:30 p.m. for my mother's birthday. We (4 adults, 2 children) sat inside the restaurant, visible directly against the counter. Only after we requested that the menus were finally handed out shortly before 6 p.m. It was not possible to order a drink at this point, even when asked, this was ignored and simply walked away. Our order was then only taken upon our request. Only then did we have the opportunity to order drinks. The food was served relatively promptly, but unfortunately without cutlery. When asked about this, the response was harsh. The food was... well, the fries were good... everything else was served very blandly and not in the way you would expect from a restaurant in the castle. We were completely ignored for the entire time of our visit, giving us the feeling that only the golf elite were welcome outside. Not once was we asked if we would like to order anything else. Drinks or dessert, unfortunately no. We have never felt so uncomfortable and unwelcome. Very disappointing, very unfortunate! And to think that we came based on a huge newspaper article. It was incredibly disillusioning. Very sad for the birthday child.In summary: it couldn't be more unprofessional! The waitress had a whiff of alcohol and the service was anything but courteous or hospitable! The food is of course a matter of taste, but here too you would expect something more stylish and exquisite in this actually pretty environment. Especially since the menu is very manageable. Unfortunately this restaurant is not worth visiting.

Unfortunately, apart from the location and the building from the outside, nothing is recommended at the moment. Our room was in need of renovation, was dusty and there were still peanuts on the floor from the previous tenant. Our bed sheets were also dirty and the shower was covered in limescale. To top it off, we had an extra bed in our room for two people set up in the middle of the room. The greeting and farewell at the hotel was very careless and unfriendly. Then there was a misunderstanding about payment. We suddenly had to pay for our room again, even though we had already done this in advance via PayPal four months ago.

We were there from July 23rd to 24th. We were guests and had a great time there.The service is extremely friendly and relaxed. The kitchen is really excellent.We had booked two double rooms (2 dads with their sons) and the booking in connection with 2 days of movie park (total 2*156 euros).Price-performance was absolutely excellent in this context.The kitchen even made a tarte flambée in the evening because a funny situation arose in the evening with the service staff and the kitchen.Absolute recommendation for this hotel. Starting from the reception, everyone was very nice. You're welcome to keep it up.

We were there for one night. We should have been able to move into the room at three o'clock. It hadn't been cleaned yet. We were able to put our luggage in, but when we came back the luggage was in the unlocked room. The bathroom was reasonably clean, the restaurant completely ignored us. After thirty minutes we got up and left.Breakfast with cheap baked rolls.Not 4 stars
