Ostermaier's Waldeck - Andrea & Peter Ostermaier

Despite the heavy workload on the staff in the fully occupied restaurant and beer garden, we were accompanied from the bar to a beautifully set table. The restaurant, the tables and the terrace in the backyard are full of flowers and decorated with a lot of passion.Then:Pink, juicy and beautifully tender. A steak to die for.Good cook.In addition:Good waiter and waitress.Very pleasant and perfect service.Courteous staff.Good mood. Nice music. Cozy light and a great view.It was a successful evening.Thank you. Only recommended.

Cozy rooms, quiet location, friendly staff & good food

My partner and I were only there to eat. Rural and quiet location, with plenty of on-site parking.The welcome was friendly, but unfortunately our wish (which we had expressed when we made our reservation by telephone) to sit inside was only granted after some back and forth.As a starter we shared an Angus beef carpaccio. The slices are extremely delicate, also well presented and refined.As a main course, two meat dishes and then the nougat dumplings. I found the latter very creative and special, definitely a delicious recommendation.In my opinion the prices are not appropriate for the more upscale dishes. Larger portions would also have been desirable here. Almost 30 euros for a medium-sized piece of beef, a pork loin and a not particularly juicy pork steak garnished with a handful of fries - very expensive. At least a salad buffet is usually included.The bottom line is that we were satisfied, but we expected a little more.

We went to eat at Ostermaier's today. Great hospitality and great food. The service was very friendly and accommodating.

The warm welcome in an extraordinary and down to the point decorated and styled hotel with a restaurant and a lovely garden, surrounded by a breath taking landscape, is the paramount place to stay!!! Dedicated and most attentive staff, with charming vigour making sure you're feeling home and taking care of. Reasonable prices rounding the impressive picture to the fullest. For many years, I was missing such a beautiful place!!!Let me say, from the bottom of my heart, a big thank you, and please, continue the way of success and lovely as you are!!! Cheers, The Legend

Excellent food, top price-performance level

Unfortunately, when we visited the restaurant on July 4th, 2024, we were unable to experience the generally reported beautiful atmosphere of the inn and the “good food”.But we know from previous visits that this is true. ....however, we didn't want to redeem a voucher either.My wife received vouchers for a... menu and a fixed amount of money from her former employer, the Jomos company in Selbitz, as a recognition of Christmas. To ensure that the employee receives his gift safely, the Jomos company had expressly agreed with the Ostermaier restaurant that these vouchers would be printed with a special note.“The validity is unlimited” is written on each of these vouchers.When I asked the person I was talking to - I have to assume it was the boss because of her arrogant demeanor - she said condescendingly that I should first get legal advice about the right to vouchers.The fact is that the Jomos company deliberately insisted on the wording “The validity is unlimited” because they wanted to do something good for their employees.Unfortunately, it is also a fact that the owners of the restaurant “Ostermaier`s Waldeck” are acting in breach of contract and no longer want to redeem these vouchers.Clearly the “bosses” of the restaurant need to enrich themselves here.I am of course aware that a “normal” voucher is valid for a maximum of 3 years. However, this legal regulation does not apply if the voucher explicitly states “The validity is unlimited”.It's a shame, but we definitely won't be among the guests there anymore.

Place for special occasion 👍we celebrated our wedding anniversary. The food was delicious and very nicely decorated and we were served very well. Again and again 😊

This used to be the place to go if you wanted an idyllic and good meal. We had reserved - but were given a flower bench or something like that as a table - correspondingly uncomfortable - we weren't allowed to use the upholstered free chairs - since the average price for food is 25 EUR - I would have liked to have sat well and also had a refilled salad buffet - that's why We probably won't be back anytime soon🤷‍♂️😪

The quality is good, but unfortunately not appropriate for the high prices.
