On the occasion of the Tough Hunter event, we booked 2 single rooms for one night. The furnishings of the rooms are very old (70s) and they also smell very musty/damp. This can be endured for one night, but what was not bearable at all was the strong smell of dog urine (the room had a carpeted floor). I thought several times during the night whether I should change to my car. When I asked the owner about it when checking out, he replied that he noticed the smell when he opened the door (when showing the rooms), but that he couldn't do anything since we were already there (arrival on the 20th). :00pm). His only response/compensation was to offer me 2 more treats for my dog.NEVER AGAIN!!!

We were on a stopover towards Prague with a racing bike group. We were greeted very friendly by the owner and his family. The rooms are rather functionally furnished, but perfectly fine for an overnight stay. The access route leads over a gravel road with quite a few potholes, but was definitely doable even with a racing bike. There were no deaths or injuries on the descent the next day, not even a flat tire. The host is a real original and always creates a good atmosphere.

The only way to get to the Waldpension Pfeifer is via an unpaved pothole road. The guesthouse is idyllically located in the forest, the area in front of the house is beautifully designed. But the pool is not accessible. The rooms are colorfully tiled and probably date from the 70s. The musty smell is unpleasant. In addition, the rooms urgently need to be renovated: grinding door, crack in the window pane, putty is crumbling out of the window, bathroom cabinet lighting is broken, windows definitely need to be painted on the outside. The breakfast is ok, so 2 points for the service. Otherwise the service leaves a lot to be desired: guest card not stamped and signed, room is only cleaned every 2 days, no card payment. I wouldn't go on holiday in the pension again.

Back to the past. Has the flair of the 70s.However, the rooms were very clean and the landlords were simply great. You immediately feel welcome.Access to the accommodation, which is located in the middle of the forest, is difficult, but the owners can't help it.Important!!! Don't follow the bike path, which is well developed, but actually follow the forest path or an exit further up then follow the forest path, that's better.

Nice hotel, nice room with balcony and modern bathroom. Breakfast is definitely recommended. Owners are friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back again. Nice walking and or cycling area. 40 km away from a nice market in the Czech Republic.

There are huge potholes on the only permitted access road. The advertised renovation of the rooms leaves a lot to be desired, but the "superieur" bathroom was okay.

I felt very comfortable. The open, friendly welcome, the offer to make me another coffee, humor, a small, very cheap room with a balcony, good breakfast, human atmosphere. A warm place.

After several visits, the rooms were renovated again!The rooms were cozy and comfortable, perfect for relaxing after a day of adventure. The breakfast was delicious and made with fresh, local ingredients. The friendly staff were always ready to help and provided great tips for walks and activities in the area. I cannot recommend this guesthouse enough to anyone looking for a peaceful, charming retreat amidst Germany's beautiful nature. Highly recommended!”

If you're not into luxury but are looking for something rustic/from the 70s, this is the place for you.We stayed here for 3 days and unfortunately we have to say that it didn't live up to our expectations.There were positive and negative points.Positive:-Extremely quiet area close to the forest-Perfect for hiking and cycling-Breakfast was good-Pets were allowed and treated kindly-The behavior of the housekeeper was always courteous, nice and polite -> she put a lot of effort into everything-Beautifully decorated for ChristmasNegative:-The access was an absolute disaster. If you have a lower car you should look for an alternative (we drove a Ford Focus twice)-The outbuilding and rooms were completely cool and damp (according to the humidity meter that was set up in the building) a no-go when the outside temperature was 4 degrees-No or defective heating in the bathroom/toilet-No beds were made and no garbage was disposed of for 3 days- the whole bed is lying through-The doors of the rooms could only be "slammed" because they were stuck (unfortunately this is very annoying when other visitors leave their rooms at night)-Heating in the hallway was always turned off and so the building next door was unfortunately cold all the time-Windows or balcony doors were not tight and there was a draft-The outside area was not inviting as there were building materials lying around everywhere-We got a single room which was dirty and full of cobwebs. The blind and the light were broken and it was simply not comfortable to sleep there. It was exchanged for a clean room without any problems, but with a hefty surcharge for a double room-The behavior of the landlord was simply cheeky and rude. It may be that other guests find it fun and relaxed, but I'm used to something different.

House of Horrors...The outdoor area is a dump, the pool is run down, dingy rooms full of animal hair, the ventilation in the bathroom is full of mold... it smells musty everywhere.The hosts are nice, the accommodation is in a quiet location, the road there is unreasonable!!!The pictures that can be seen everywhere on the portals do not correspond to reality!

We've been here for a week now and it was really nice. I can't understand what some people have to complain about here. Find the cheapest guesthouse and ask for a 6 star hotel. A pallet of tiles and one too many windows bought do not necessarily make a construction site, as written. We will definitely come back because the rooms have all been renovated and beautifully decorated. (Where there is planing, chips fall)The people who have something to complain about should better write to the municipality about the route to the Pfeiferhaus. It's doable but not as nice as the team at Pfeiferhaus.
