Great inn. Everything you need is there. Rooms are clean and also quite large. It's not a luxury hotel but it shouldn't be. I would say rural rustic. Breakfast was all available. The table was ready. You feel good.

We felt very comfortable in the hotel. It was very nice not to have to go out to eat after the hikes. The menu at the inn is small, but sufficient and delicious. The junior boss was very receptive to the food converting the card into vegetarian food = 10⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, thank you for that. The hotel + restaurant is highly recommended. Greetings from Simone, Iris, Rainer & Karsten

Unfortunately, we hardly slept because the mosquitoes prevented us from doing so. Unfortunately, the electric anti-mosquito plug provided by the hotel didn't help. A mosquito repellent on the window would certainly be much more successful. The beds were somehow broken and crooked. Lamp defective and drain blocked. It's a shame because otherwise everything in the room was very clean and the food in the evening was also very good.

Because of the train delay, we actually arrived at the inn an hour after the kitchen closed. The innkeepers still allowed us to enjoy the entire menu. That was super nice! Rooms very clean, very quiet and generously sized. Breakfast was super tasty, fresh, varied and definitely sufficient. For hikers it is not quite on the Rennsteig but about half an hour away.

Great guesthouse and restaurant, we were here with our motorbikes and were given a very friendly welcome. We had a cold beer in the cozy beer garden and we were saved. ;-) . The rooms are nice, cozy and clean, the food, with greetings from the kitchen, is absolutely recommended and delicious. The homemade liver sausage was a hit! We are from the village and understand something about it. ;-) Great, handmade, German cuisine, great breakfast and friendly service. We would definitely like to come back.

We were on a short trip by motorbike and chose this hotel because there was a castle ruin to visit and it was on the route. Otherwise I would never have thought of booking a room here. So I arrived here with no particular expectations. We received a very warm welcome here and were able to move into our rooms very quickly. When I think about it, I felt really welcome. The room was nicely furnished to the usual standard, although I would like to say that I liked the furniture, and everything about the bedroom looked quite new. The walls are a bit noisy but I still slept well. The bathroom, at least that's what it looked like to me, was not renovated but was in an absolutely well-kept and clean condition. Everything seemed very clean, from the front door to the room. The dining room is a very bright and friendly room because of its large windows and high ceiling. The furnishings are also very inviting and comfortable. With the right company, you could forget about time here. The menu is full of delicious dishes and I think there is something for every taste. I would have liked everything and had difficulty deciding. What I was then served not only read well on the menu, it also exceeded my expectations in terms of taste and appearance. What I particularly remember was the greeting from the kitchen with homemade liver sausage. I can't actually see liver sausage anymore but the homemade one was a taste experience. Breakfast was different than we are used to. Normally there is a breakfast buffet where you serve yourself, but here the table was set so lovingly and lavishly as if you were having breakfast together with your family on Sunday...no, actually much better. I would even like to say that I have experienced an appreciation here that is unfortunately no longer common. If I came by here again I would check in here again.

I chose the Gasthof Blankenberg as the starting point for my Rennsteig bike tour. I received a very friendly welcome, was able to store my bike and had an excellent dinner. The service was extremely courteous, thanks for the nibbles with the beer. After a good night's sleep and a very good breakfast, I was able to start my bike tour refreshed and well strengthened.

We were on the Saale cycle path, the Gasthof Blankenberg was our first stop after the spring. We received a very friendly welcome and overall felt very well looked after. The food was very tasty and the service was very accommodating. We can definitely recommend the inn!
