We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The suites are beautiful, tastefully decorated and very clean. There is a tea maker and a Nespresso machine, fresh water in the carafe every day. …

The Zollhaus is a very nice hotel with a great ambience, finely tuned rooms, and loving service. We just feel very comfortable here. Despite the proximity to Friedrichstrasse, it is in a very quiet location. …

Very nice hotel in a central location, typical Hoepershof style! Excellent beds, everything very clean, courteous staff, the hotel's own parking lot. The only downside is that you have to have breakfast in the Hotel Raffelshüschen, which is about 200 m away. The breakfast itself is very good, but the boss there is very arrogant, at least towards us, the tables are very narrow and relaxed breakfast is unfortunately not possible there due to the hectic pace…

At check-in (5 day stay) we were informed that due to a lack of staff, breakfast would be served in a cafe 200 m away. Not a word of regret, apology or anything like that. Of course it rained on 4 out of 5 days in the morning, so the walk to breakfast was particularly fun. In addition, the website advertises great pictures of a breakfast buffet, but the café mentioned only serves a la carte and it was usually quite full and therefore the waiting time was correspondingly long. The team there made the best of it, tried very hard and was friendly. On day 2 we wanted to use the sauna and were informed that the sauna had been canceled unexpectedly. Again, no “sorry” etc.The rooms are OK, not necessarily very clean upon arrival with hair on the window sill, bathroom, etc. The floor was not vacuumed in 5 days. On day 3 we would have liked fresh bed linen (you put a small card on the bed), unfortunately this was ignored. Conclusion: the Hotel Sylter Zollhaus unfortunately lacks empathy and (hospitality) friendliness/manner. The service is not optimal. Not recommended.

So far we only had holiday apartments on Sylt, this time it was supposed to be a small hotel. In short: we liked it!We haven't slept so well in a long time, I would have loved to take the mattress and blanket/pillow home with me! We enjoyed the rain shower and spent every evening and early morning on the small balcony.I would definitely book here again. We have made deductions in service because descriptions may leave others with an impression that does not meet expectations. On the one hand, there is a wellness area (sauna), yes, but it was not open "due to water damage". Ergo, anyone who was looking forward to it would have been disappointed. There was no reference to this in the booking or afterwards.Breakfast is taken outside. It's only a few steps, but some may want to know that beforehand. You won't necessarily notice it directly on the homepage. I knew this from recessions, so we weren't surprised. In the welcome brochure in the room, a paragraph is dedicated to the daily refilling of coffee (capsules) as a service. For us, as coffee drinkers, this is a plus point. Unfortunately that didn't really work. We pointed out a refill and also had to ask for fresh cups. We did have a glass of capsules in the room, as well as fresh cups, but unfortunately the refilling (so pay attention to it as a service) didn't work. But you can help yourself downstairs, which is what we did.Our room door squeaked extremely when we closed it, so we sneaked in in the morning/evening instead of opening the door completely so as not to disturb our roommates. As a room fairy, you actually have to hear this every day and take action to remedy the situation. We're not demanding, but there are a few weaknesses in room service.Ignoring all that, we slept like logs. The windows are incredibly tight; If you want, you can't hear anything from outside. I, on the other hand, like to hear the seagulls, so they stayed tilted. Our room (actually 2 room sections) was very comfortably furnished. Plus a small balcony. Nice welcome and very friendly lady at reception. The location is unbeatable. Just a few steps from Friedrichstrasse, the beach crossing, the central bus station and the train station - 👍🙂
