The employees are all very friendly and accommodating. What's great is that there is a swimming pool and sauna. Unfortunately, the rooms and the hotel as a whole are rather outdated and unrenovated, with old carpeting, dark furniture and generally little light. The rooms also smell strange because of the carpet...the bathroom also needs to be renovated, there isn't even a mixer tap on the sink. But the room and bathroom were clean. What I also found very unpleasant were the “made in China” cosmetic items such as shampoo and shower products in the bathroom and sauna.

Shocked to find a cockroach in such a nice hotel. But overall a lovely building with attentive staff. One day our room was not cleaned. The water glasses by the bedside in the room were also unclean on our check in. So, a low attention to cleanliness overall, odd for such a beautiful location. The bellhops were phenomenal and helpful with check in and check out. The hotel keeps a well stocked taxi stand outside, and most of the taxi drivers outside of the hotel were also very helpful and cabs here are easy to take, although one was angry at us one time and didn’t want to take us to a local restaurant and told us to call an Uber instead, but the next cab driver was very kind and helpful.The lights in the newly renovated executive rooms are very bright, and even the small lights by the bedside are a harsh white light. There is no dimmer for light in the room, and no comfortable way to use a small ambient light in the evening. The options are very bright or very dark.A gorgeous hotel with a fixable lack of attention to detail.Edit: just an update that despite the hotel responding here, I also have an email chain where they have told me they would let me know what they were doing about the hotel’s cockroach problem and I haven’t heard any updates yet, so it’s best to assume that for now they have a cockroach problem and an issue with the hotel’s cleanliness.

A great hotel in a quiet area of the city. There are several bus stops less than 10 minutes walk from the hotel.We were checked in by Leon Hartmann, always with a smile and help us with all the inquiries, even after few hours we checked in, he still remembered me while walking in the lobby, thank you. i wanted to go to Sanssouci Palace and while i was walking in the lobby a nice staff asked me how she can help me. I told her i wanted to go to the palace by public transportation, she help me how I can purchase transportation ticket through an app, she was even the one who took the purchase of my ticket through the app. She was very pleasant, always smiling, and very helpful. Thank you. All in all my 4 nights stay was great. Nice and clean room, very comfortable bed. They serviced the room every day.Spa was a relaxing place, dry sauna was perfect, only problem was the steam room, i tried it several times but there was a problem with temperature. Breakfast Buffet was also perfect, they have an omelette section, where you can order freshly cooked eggs and omelette. They have a coffee machine where you can make coffee of your choice. Another good place to hang out is Bar 26, the bar manager was very pleasant, they can make my manhattan, some bars dont want to make cocktails that you like especially if it’s not on the menu, i was glad to see manhattan and old fashioned in thier drinks lists. Although this is a JW, i was surprised how reasonable the prices are. Great Bartenders!It was a great experience.Thank you JW Berlin for my 4 great nights in your hotel.

Here is an edited version of your text:I made a small mistake when checking in, but it was quickly resolved. But that was just where the trouble began. When I got into the room, I wanted to take a bath and first had to remove individual hairs from the tub and clean it thoroughly.Now to the actual reason for my negative review: In the afternoon I ordered a cappuccino at the bar and had it written to my room. Later we went into town and when we came back my room card didn't work - it just glowed red. So I had to walk all the way back to reception. There I was told that the card was defective and that I absolutely had to pay for the cappuccino. Well, I paid directly.Back in the room I found a letter on the door saying that I should urgently contact reception because there was an outstanding amount. Seriously? You blocked my room card because of €5? I stay in around 50 to 60 hotels a year, but I've rarely experienced behavior like this. I am seriously considering passing the matter to the newspaper.

We loved our stay at the JW Marriott Berlin! The central location provided quick and easy access - we were a 10-15 minute cab ride from all of our sightseeing, dining, and nightlife destinations. Johannes at the concierge desk was particularly stellar! He provided fantastic recommendations for museums, nightclubs, money exchange, and restaurants. The reservation that he made for a birthday dinner was excellent and we loved that he remembered us and asked about our experiences throughout our stay!

A lovely hotel that offers a delightful stay in the heart of the German capital. Located near Tiergarten and Potsdamer Platz, the hotel has elegant rooms with good views, excellent amenities, and really good service.There is a wellness area with a pool, sauna, and steam bath, as well as a well-equipped fitness centre. ⭐☆☆☆☆A hotel stay in a class of its own – If you want to experience being treated like a thief trying to steal water!As a long-time Marriott customer who is proud to have spent over 100 nights at the group's hotels this year, I thought nothing could surprise me more. But then came my stay at the JW Marriott Berlin – an experience that I won’t soon forget!Since my favorite hotel, the Ritz-Carlton, was fully booked, I “had” to switch to the JW Marriott. No problem, I thought, after all it’s a renowned brand. The beginning was promising: at check-in there was only a mini-upgrade to an executive lounge room - the absolute minimum, considering that as a Marriott Ambassador I would have expected a little more. But hey, the hotel was probably heavily booked and I'm a lenient guest.Then came the first “highlight”: an employee was kind enough to give me a handwritten welcome card. Only… instead of finding the card in the room with a welcome gift (as is the case in about 99% of hotels), I was given the honor of carrying the card to the room myself! What personal service! Unfortunately I never saw the gift, but hey, I had the card.But the best was yet to come. After a tiring day in the city, I wanted to take a bottle of water from the lounge back to my room. I know, a huge faux pas on my part! What was I thinking that I could be thirsty as a guest? As soon as I was at the exit, an employee stopped me and pointed out that bringing water into the rooms was strictly forbidden. I felt like a thieve who had been caught trying to steal the crown jewels - except this was a plain bottle of water. It was assumed that I hadn't seen the prohibition sign (which was indeed the case, my mistake).Of course, I returned the “stolen” water bottle immediately – after all, I don’t want to end up on the Marriott Group’s blacklist! But the feeling of being treated like a thief remains. What a great way to treat guests who have accompanied the hotel for over 100 nights this year. Applause to the team for this innovative approach to dealing with customers!Unfortunately, the Ritz-Carlton was fully booked for the next day, otherwise I would have moved immediately. Now, for better or worse, I have to end my stay here, but with a bad aftertaste. Oh, and I probably won’t be visiting the lounge again – I don’t want to commit any more “crimes”.Conclusion: If you are looking for a “unique” experience where you get penalized for missing a sign and taking a water bottle, then the JW Marriott Berlin is for you!.

Worst JW Marriott pre booking.experience. I have a booking tomorrow, and it’s been 4 days that I have been trying to reach the property. They never pick up the phone, and you are stuck with a very apologetic reservation call center that is also unable to reach anyone at the property. A 5 star hotel, that is unable to go through the simple task of picking up the phone to their customers. Shame on you.

This is a wonderful place to stay in Berlin! It is in a quieter location, but accessible . The included breakfast and happy hour were excellent. I was most impressed by the kindness and hospitality of the staff. In particular, Merle Dicht went above and beyond her role to help us in a situation. Her enthusiasm is contagious! Thank you Merle!

Good location and very helpful staff but I'd have a hard time calling this more than 3.5 stars for the hotel quality. The rooms are nothing special and unfortunately very dated/ not well maintained as you can see from the attached photos of the shower half-door. In the room, the only thing that felt somewhat elevated was the heated bathroom floor.The pool might as well not exist, it's so dingy and the fitness center is awful (again way below par for what purports to be a 5-star hotel). Sadly disappointed overall.

Besides the elegance and comfort in the room, what I delighted most was in the service offered by every single staff member at this hotel. Their breakfast buffet is absolutely huge with too many dishes to choose from plus a chef on site. This hotel is only 5 min walk toward the mall and the hop on& off bus.
