Very nice youth hostel, quietly located, large bright meeting rooms, clean rooms, nice staff. Only the food leaves something to be desired. The potato pancakes really didn't deserve the name and were inedible, and lukewarm yeast dumplings with plum compote and a dinner plate with 3 slices of sausage and 2 slices of cheese for everyone for lunch isn't really the right thing either. The food, unlike other JHs, always took some getting used to, but now it's an imposition.

Very nice youth hostel, very friendly service, good, appropriate food, plenty of indoor activities available even in bad weather. Rooms are fine, we slept well.

Only celebrate there if you don't have any fixed dates. Unfortunately, promises are made over the phone and then withdrawn online/in writing. The basic idea is very nice, the ambience there is certainly very nice too, but that's about it. 1 star only for the very nice outdoor area.

You can go hiking in the forest that is right next to it and the staff is also very nice.

Very nice youth hostel! Very clean and super friendly staff. We're at a conference here and everyone really likes it. The only drawback is that the WiFi is currently not working.

I thought it was quite ok there. If you wanted something to drink you had to wait 3 hours until lunch or dinner. Or you could buy a 0.5l bottle of water for €2.20! That's why only 2 stars. You So much is forbidden at the beginning. And everything costs something. Except table tennis bats, basketball or football. And you have a rocking horse and a spring rocking horse that you weren't allowed to use. They said it's for ages 3 and up. I don't know who go there with 3! THEN WHY DO YOU EVEN BUILD SOMETHING like that? Rooms were quite ok except for the toilets which were nice but the 🚽 was so dirty. Completely dirty. Service was also good but strict and the food was so... but You have to say the way it looks there is great. That was my opinion but I don't recommend it for school trips or anything else.

Ideal for a hiking holiday in the Palatinate Forest. The room was clean and very nicely decorated. The staff was very nice and accommodating.

The youth hostel had modern rooms and large lounges.The children can race outside but also inside.The play area for the little ones is within sight in the bistro, the older ones have space in the basement and a table tennis table.We enjoyed the food, and a highlight was the New Year's Eve buffet.The program was great and regardless of whether it was a girl or a boy, big or small, there was enough to do for everyone. Everyone could choose what they enjoyed. Crafting, hammering, building...At the cinema evening there were even chips and the children were allowed to choose the film. Hochspeyer is really recommended.

The house is located in the middle of the forest and has a playground. The facility is very well maintained and the staff is warm and accommodating.Unfortunately, you have to make compromises when it comes to eating. The kitchen sometimes doesn't have a good hand when it comes to seasoning dishes. All soups are over peppered. After a few spoonfuls, I unfortunately had to leave each soup because it became too spicy for me. You could sometimes smell the pepper as soon as you entered the dining room. In other places the salt slipped or was missing. But some things were also good to eat, like the bolognese and the schnitzel.The salads are delicious, as is the breakfast.

Really nicely located. Playground and forest right outside the door. Room clean. Play area could be larger, or an additional play room would be great.Unfortunately, at the first breakfast I encountered a situation with a father who had overlooked a glass and was lectured. Not so nice, after all it can happen to anyone.

Here is our conclusion about the Hochspeyer Youth Hostel. An ideal hostel surrounded by greenery for the whole family and everyone who likes to be active in nature. The hostel is barrier-free and also suitable for people with walking difficulties and wheelchair users. Children and young people of all ages find an opportunity to work out on the spacious grounds. The rooms and the entire house are clean and comfortably furnished. A varied menu awaits guests. The positive overall impression is rounded off by the friendly and helpful crewWe'll definitely come back.

Since we have already been to a few youth hostels, I can only give them three stars. For breakfast six days in a row, always the same sausage and cheese, very monotonous and no variety. The orange juice was so diluted with water that it only tasted like water. The coffee also tasted more like water than coffee. We had to constantly look for staff...No feel-good atmosphere!Playroom in the basement with air hockey, pinball, table tennis...that's it. The summit, you had to pay for it, it doesn't cost anything in other youth hostels! Eggs only on Sundays, then only scrambled eggs, you had to wait in line because one person baked a portion for each person in a small pan 🤦We were disappointed with this youth hostel...the rooms could have been dusted and the cobwebs removed!We were very disappointed here. Hochspeyer is not a nice place. Without a car you are lost here!
