Had lunch during bike ride. They would make us something small. We had to pay a whopping 63 euros for bratwursts with fried potatoes, lettuce and Coke, which was quite a shock.

We had dinner here and enjoyed an exceptionally good 4-course menu. The wine accompaniment deserves special mention, which was selected with great care and sensitivity for all dishes and made the evening a real treat. You can feel the chef's love for regional herbs in every dish and experience new, exciting taste experiences. All in all, the prices are very fair and we can only warmly recommend the cuisine at the Waldhotel Fehrenbach.

Everything was ok, until the boss! I booked the junior suite through Booking and paid 419.80 Fr straight away by credit card! When we arrived in the evening it was said that our reserved room had been given to a group of children without asking us whether this was ok, for the reason we were told we thought it was ok. The other room was also ok and cheaper. And now comes the frustrating part!!! When I checked out, the boss showed me the bill and said I still had to pay 344.80 euros! I said I had already paid with Booking. He, "I should pay the amount, I'm already looking at booking"! I paid for the biggest mistake I suddenly made while traveling. He did nothing and another booking was deducted from me. When I saw this, I called the hotel by phone, told the boss and he said he would send me my money immediately. But even after more than a week, nothing! So another call and this time clearer! Of course the boss wasn't available. In the evening I received an email that 336 euros was transferred to me!!! You figure, I paid 419.80fr + 323.-fr and only got 323.-fr back!!! I paid for a suite and got a normal room and paid for it. Difference in favor of the hotel is a good 100.-Fr!!!Lousy boss who can't do math! Good staff!!!

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not right here at all. The rooms are a bit carelessly furnished, ours was directly above the kitchen and next to the exhaust air. Kitchen noises and smells included. The shampoo in the bathroom was empty and there was a dead spider on the floor. The staff was nice and tried hard but mixed up orders. The breakfast is OK but not worth €15 (drinks €5 extra for filter coffee and bottled juice).Overall, unfortunately, a more than disappointing stay.

Peaceful village hotel with exceptional home made cuisine and great hospitality. Wild herbs and mushrooms were a particular highlight as was the list of regional wines. Wonderful hospitality - a real personal touch. A place were the world stops.

A lovingly run hotel. An owner who runs the business in the 5th generation and shows his guests every day with noticeable pride that he really enjoys his trained profession as a high-class chef. The food was a culinary surprise every evening during our week-long stay. Everything is prepared absolutely fresh and, as far as we can tell, regional and organic quality is used. Herbs and the like even seem to be grown and harvested by hand right behind the house. In our opinion, all of this absolutely justifies the slightly higher prices and gives the food the value it deserves. The rooms may be a bit old in some places, but that doesn't bother you and, given that the house has over 100 years of history, it actually seems rather pleasant. In any case, it is clean and well maintained. We also really liked the location - nestled in a beautiful elevation in the Black Forest, but still only 10 minutes by car from Lake Titisee. We really enjoyed our stay and would fully recommend the Waldhotel Fehrenbach. The Müller family from Burgwedel

The room was comfortable but very dirty; it was clear that the sheets hadn't been changed since the previous guests, and I found both hairs and nail clippings (lovely!) On the bed. I never noticed a cleaning team around the place. The WiFi was absolutely useless. The food was good, but the portions were a little small; fine for a city restaurant, perhaps, but after a day of walking not quite as substantial as you might want. The service in the restaurant was really bad; I ate there two nights in a row, and on the first there were long periods (twenty to thirty minutes) where none of the people eating had either food or a drink. The second day, with the addition of a 12 year old boy waiting tables, things got a little better. The entire four course meal took maybe three hours.I can't speak for the lunch, but based on the dinner experience, I'd say only go for it if you're prepared for a long wait.Breakfast was impressive, but again slow - it's all very well providing a wide selection of dishes, but if you can't get them to the table in time then what's the point? I'd rather have cornflakes and eat sooner. This place has a lot of potential: the location is good and the food can be pretty fantastic at times, but it badly needs staff. A proper cleaning team and a professional waiter would make a huge difference but for now, based on the dirty room and inadequate dinner experience, I wouldn't stay here again.

As well as being a hotel and restaurant sometimes have a few tables outside serving drinks, light meals and coffee and cake. Service is very friendly but sometimes slow sometimes fast. Great location to sit and take in the landscape.
