Experience from March 2019Beautifully located hotel on Lake Titisee, which is mainly used by members of the fire department. The rooms are large and clean, and the rest is also very well maintained. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. There is a deduction for food. On the day of arrival there is no choice and you just have to take what is available. Breakfast isn't refilled if something runs out, and the portions at dinner aren't exactly generous, which means you'll stay hungry even after three courses. While the breakfast and dinner were delicious, the cold/warm buffet was a letdown because apart from the fact that there was nothing labeled, the main feature was the cold dishes. The warm meal only consisted of two types of meat that were completely dry (probably beef/pork) and spaetzle. The buffet also didn't score points in terms of taste. On the other hand, the bar is highly recommended, as it is not only beautifully decorated but also has very tasty cocktails on offer. Conclusion: If you get the opportunity to visit the hotel you should take advantage of it. There are compromises when it comes to eating, but since tastes are different, everyone should decide for themselves.Experience from April 2023As in 2019, the stay was very pleasant. Everything was clean, and the bar also scored points like the last time we visited. The staff deserves special praise because I have never experienced such friendly and warm service anywhere in years.Unfortunately it's still not enough for 5 stars. Although breakfast is now refilled and almost everything is labeled, the portion at dinner is still manageable. As in 2019, there was veal goulash where the pieces of meat seemed to be counted on the plate. Unfortunately there was again no choice on the day of arrival, although you could ask about this when checking in. This time the food was consistently delicious, but more choice for the main course would have been welcome. A 2 option would also be appropriate for dessert.This is not intended to be a criticism, just an incentive to get the 5 star.Tip - Be sure to accept the offer of cakes, tarts and ice cream in the restaurantIt's incomprehensible to me that everyone is complaining about the WiFi. Aside from the fact that I don't have to be constantly on the internet while on vacation, I wonder if it's such a bad thing to use up a bit on your data plan. I also obtained information about the area on the Internet during my stay, but my tiny data volume was easily enough for that. So anyone who deducts a star because of a lack of/poor WiFi probably has a fundamental problem in enjoying their vacation and the beautiful landscape.

Positive: Friendly staff, good location.QuietNegative: WiFi only in the lobby, this is absolutely out of date.In the bathroom there is a note from the hotel manager that guests should not repair the drain siphons. Why doesn't the hotel itself ensure that it functions properly? I don't understand it!!!

Rooms spacious, with an extra living room-style anteroom.Everything very clean and well-kept. Not the most modern / newest but rather rustic, a lot of wood and very well preserved.Unfortunately no WiFi (already visible on the website) except in the lobby.Unfortunately, there is no refrigerator or kitchenette in the rooms for drinks, children's food or what you brought with you from your travel days.Stay including breakfast buffet with drinks and 4-course dinner without drinks in the evening.Spacious hotel grounds, a little away from Lake Titisee (3 minutes by car).Unfortunately, the children's playroom was very crowded and almost full of rubbish with inappropriate games and books.It's nice that there is some scope, but unfortunately it seems to have been left to its own devices and is not being maintained in terms of content.Employees are friendly and make a professional impression :)

We were there for the third time now. And we're thrilled every time. The children also keep asking when we will go next. We stayed in a different house each time and tried all room types. Yes, the rooms in one house are a bit older, but everything is clean. If you're out and about all day, it doesn't bother you. All rooms with balconies. All rooms are large, so that you can easily accommodate 4 people.Everyone is very friendly. The drinks are cheap compared to other hotels. Nice hotel bar.The children can let off steam in the playroom, which is right next to the restaurant. Large sports hall for different sports to let off steam. There is a small playground outside with a swing, seesaw, table tennis table, sandpit and something to climb.Hiking trails right from the hotel door. Lots of information material to take with you to help you plan your day perfectly. WLAN is only available in the lobby, but that will probably change soon. We'll definitely be back.
