A great hotel with top service

I was here today for a seminar day.Pro: The restaurant/hotel is easy to find and there is enough parking space.Cons: poor service, you had to ask the employees several times to refill the water and sometimes seminar participants ran out with the carafes and fetched water themselves. There was only one dish for the meal and we were not offered any vegetarian alternatives. And the drinks were not included at €20 for a bit of mashed potatoes, 2 minced meatballs and a few carrot pieces, but we weren't informed of this before ordering. Overall very disorganized.

Waldgasthof am Letten, drove past the “conference hotel” near Lauf several times. My friend pointed out that you could have a good meal there.What awaited me today was an evening in a class of its own, the service was great, friendly and professional.The menu and wine list make your heart beat faster. The dinner was brilliant. As a starter we had the pumpkin soup with matching pumpkin seed oil and the spring leek risotto with fried shrimp.The main course was a perfectly fried beef fillet with chanterelles, celery puree, red wine shallots and Anna's fries. Additionally, a composition of game fish, with homemade noodles and lobster foam sauce.For dessert, canneloni with chocolate, coffee mousse and heart cherries.The kitchen team also deserves 5 stars for this performance.Always my pleasure.

I was able to work as a seminar leader here for two days. And everything just fell into place. The hotel is easy to reach, but is still beautifully green. The seminar room was perfectly equipped. And the service and food were simply unique. Thank you for two wonderful days of work.

Five of us had dinner at the Gasthof zum Letten.The remaining impression of a really very good meal was very much clouded by charging for special services that we didn't even find on the menu. When we took our orders we were asked if we would like some bread with butter and lard beforehand. Four people agreed to this. Various small slices of bread, some butter, a small portion of cream cheese and a tiny dollop of lard were served. It was served as we know it...as a little greeting from the kitchen. We were very surprised to find 10 euros on the bill. When the food was served, we noticed that there were very few vegetables, they were only present as decoration. When asked “is everything okay”? we asked for some more vegetables.A small portion with a different vegetable, not like the decoration for the main course, was served later.We found it unheard of to charge another 5.60 for this.The 1.80 for some mayonnaise for the fries with the Wiener Schnitzel was almost a special offer for our daughter.The evening, with an otherwise excellent meal, was unfortunately spoiled by this fussiness, we were all annoyed... it's a shame

Totally overpriced.The rooms and especially the bathrooms are getting old.The electricity for the lighting in the hallway to the room was probably switched off for cost reasons.Breakfast was only sparingly replenished, if at all, or only upon request.A restful sleep was out of the question due to the noise from the nearby motorway and the aircraft noise.Based on my experience, I cannot recommend the hotel.

Classic French, but also Franconian cuisine, deliciously prepared. We only visited the restaurant. Comment on our last visit: Mr. Wittmann has to cook for the angels of heaven - his cuisine is that delicious. He makes guests happy.
