We had a holiday apartment for 3 nights. Everything you needed was there, the hostess Ms. Bauer was very nice. Completely sufficient for a short stay, especially if you are traveling during the day. Short journeys by car to Fichtelsee and Ochsenkopf, with few things to do in the village itself. Definitely unbeatable for the price and recommended.

We stayed at Haus Mausbachtal for a week for a hiking holiday. The place is centrally located and the hikes can start right outside the front door. Very quiet location to relax and unwind. Ms. Bauer, the landlady (a very nice woman) took great care of our well-being. The rooms were always clean and nicely decorated. Everything we needed was there, so we didn't miss anything. The breakfast table was set very lovingly every morning and the breakfast was plentiful. The lounge was equipped with a tiled stove, which provided cozy warmth. Ms. Bauer always made time for us, even for a chat every now and then. Haus Mausbachtal is a very nice, family-run guesthouse. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back.

Quietly located, 30 minutes by car from Bayreuth, surrounded by wonderful forest areas, a newly renovated Kneipp water treading pool within walking distance, nice landlord couple, good breakfast; everything was fine.

Rooms absolutely sufficient and clean. The operator, Ms. Bauer, looked after us lovingly and prepared a delicious breakfast every day. Everything fresh and regional! Hiking opportunities right outside the door. Very quiet and idyllic location. We'd love to come back! Top!

We had an apartment and it was very clean and comfortably furnished. We didn't miss anything. The place is centrally located and you can go everywhere. The Bauer family was very friendly and accommodating. We will come back.

We booked the apartment with breakfast for 3 nights - the price/performance ratio was absolutely right. That's why I don't understand some of the criticism - for 5 euros you only get sparkling wine and no bubbly.The apartment has access to a great garden - ideal for children when the weather is nice. There is a small pond below the garden - so you should keep an eye on small children (but you should actually always do that :-)The hosts were very friendly and helpful and the location is a great starting point for beautiful hikes. A great traditional costume outlet is also around the corner...We'd love to come back.

The apartment smelled musty and was very cold. The facility had some defects. We still found coffee stains from the previous tenant in the kitchen. The breakfast we had booked, which was also confirmed to us by email, did not materialize. The rolls were left in front of our door in the bag.The first contact with the landlady was not good.We didn't feel comfortable in the holiday apartment.

Breakfast full marks - but:The room was cold in the evening, just 17° and everything was clammy. The refrigerator in the hallway is not allowed to be turned on because of a small package of sausages. And bottles weren't allowed in the fridge anyway. Strange!

A desolate place, if you want to go hiking, get in the car and drive out. Because there are hardly any paths. Not possible with children.

Like staying in your grannies basement. Cosy and with outdated decor. Beds creaked horribly at any movement and kitchen was amateurishly installed. All a part of the charm. Beautiful garden for for kids to play in. But very dangerous for kids below... 5?If you want to stay in this little village, there’s rooms to rent everywhere, but this is a bit of a bigger establishment, not just a small house in someone’s garden. This place didn’t fit my taste but if you aren’t bothered by the points I made above. You’ll like it.

Everything was great! Ms. Bauer called immediately after booking and it was very cordial. The reception she gave her at the guesthouse was also great. You immediately feel at home here. Everything is clean, very comfortable and the ideal place for those looking for peace and quiet. I slept like a log. You also notice at breakfast that you are welcome. There's nothing wrong with it!
