Spent the weekend with Mrs. Schmitt in the wine in the tower. Very well located between Idar-Oberstein and Trier on the Moselle. The food was sensational, the rooms were quiet and clean. The employees and Ms. Schmitt were very friendly. We were there with 6 people and felt like we were at home. Next year is already booked again.

Wein im Turm, a nice hotel in Longuich near Trier. We have rarely experienced such warm and friendly service on our short vacations.The food was very tasty and the portions were very large. Everyone gets fed up there. The rooms are newly designed and not too small. We booked 3 rooms, all with a small balcony. Cleanliness deserves special mention, but unfortunately this is not always a given. We immediately booked for next year and are looking forward to our next visit.

We were just there to eat. Snowed in on a Wednesday without prior notice. Got a free table. Had wild boar ragout and wild boar neck. The portions are very decent. As Swabians, we still pass off knöpfle as spaetzle on the Moselle 😁. There was a little bit of sauce in the ragout, but when we asked for more sauce, it was easy to get more sauce. Food was spicy and delicious.

Luckily we were able to sit on the terrace, the service was quick and gave us good advice. For dinner we had a deer roulade, a mega game soup and the brawn with remoulade and mega fried potatoes, everything tasted very good, especially the soup. Since we are not wine connoisseurs, we got advice about the wine. It was a good decision, we really liked the wine. Moderate prices.We would come again.

An excellent location to explore the region around Trier. The Schmitt family and their entire, friendly team are very concerned about the well-being of their guests. On warm summer evenings you can sit outside and enjoy the wide range of wines from the house alongside a wide range of delicious dishes with a focus on game, decent portions and fair prices. The breakfast offering is also great, and you can also sit outside on a terrace. We all felt very comfortable.

We came for lunch after a weekend of hiking through Longuich. The menu doesn't offer too much but for every taste (including vegetarian), but the specialty is definitely the range of game dishes.As a winery, the house also offers its own wines, which you shouldn't miss with your meal.What particularly impressed us, however, was the service: despite having to serve company at the same time, we received friendly and patient advice, the drinks and food were served quickly and the staff responded creatively to special requests.

Went back every year, good breakfast and certainly the dinners in the evening are very good, on Thursdays there is a meat/fish BBQ buffet for a low price. For shopping you have to go to Sweich or Berncastel, but very suitable for walkers

Super nice hosts! Delicious food and really friendly service! The prices are also very moderate for what you get.Two shortcomings that cost half a star each: the double bed is two single mattresses with a gap and the noise if you don't "live" in the top rooms.
