Lovely hotel in a perfect location to see Trier. Pristine and cozy. Quintessential German breakfast in a pretty dining room. Enjoyed the stay so much! Less than five minutes walk to the heart of Trier and the Dom. Parking was easy but do book that ahead with the hotel.

My wife and I went on a cycling trip and stayed at this hotel. We were very satisfied. The location is very good, you can walk to the city center in just a few minutes. We were able to park our two e-bikes in the garden. The reception is not staffed in the evenings or at night, but this is now common in many hotels due to cost pressures and a lack of staff. The hotel seemed well-kept and clean, the room was large, the bed was good and the bathroom/shower was also good. The breakfast was very good with a lot of attention to detail. There are certainly guests who find the style of the house a bit playful and kitschy, but we really liked it. Something different than the many soulless rooms in the big hotel chains. At night it was sometimes loud in the city due to parties, people returning home, etc., but it was bearable with the windows closed. Anyone who has ever lived in a city center will know this. And last but not least, we were very satisfied with the price-performance ratio, as the price level in Trier for overnight stays with breakfast is very high.

We spent one night at the Hotel Astoria. Unfortunately I can only agree with the negative reviews. Absolutely unfriendly and unprofessional behavior from the owner.Reception closes in the afternoon and only opens again the next day at 8:00 a.m. There is no information about this.We were not made aware that our bikes were no longer accessible to us (doors locked). The garden may not be used - not even for breakfast. This takes place with meditative music and candlelight as well as closed windows in the breakfast room (in August). The garden is also very unkempt. As well as the condition of the house and rooms. It was very loud at night due to arguments in the house.I cannot recommend the hotel. There are good alternatives in Trier.

Sweet, family-run hotel in a great location. The owner is very committed, friendly and helpful. Everything is tip top clean, the breakfast is delicious and the rooms are comfortable. If you want a super modern room, you're probably better off in a chain, but if you're looking for a charming room within a 3-minute walk of the market square, this is the right place for you

Super-friendly staff, the proximity to the center is great, the price-performance ratio is also okay, you get a great breakfast and the rooms are clean. You should know that the hotel is on a noisy street, but that should be clear to you if you stay overnight in the city 😉 Therefore, this shouldn't be seen as a defect... We were completely satisfied.

We stayed overnight in an owner-managed city hotel. The service was very nice. We felt like guests of nice people. The furnishings are very loving and may be a matter of taste but it doesn't justify a bad rating.Just like the non-existent elevator. If you rely on an elevator, you should inform yourself beforehand. The breakfast offers everything you need, even sparkling wine is available! And the parking space for €9/day is also completely ok. After all, you are in the middle of the city center! Would choose the hotel again

Great starting point in Trier.Mattresses wonderful.Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, with delicious fresh fruit, except for the rolls which were bland. It's just not professional when the hotel management loudly complains about the guests. We 8 girls would be dirty pigs. I feel personally attacked. Something like that is the lowest form of behavior; if it had been like that, you could address the guests directly. Unfortunately, eggs, packaged butter and margarine produce waste and even bland rolls crumble.Unfortunately the terrace and the bar were closed. Too bad.I also found it unusual that you can't pay with a credit card.Still a great weekend in Trier.

Very unfriendly reception, short hello and you have to pay directly. Credit card not required will not be accepted. It is advertised as having a garden seating area and bar. (see pictures) We had reserved three parking spaces, then only two were available, I was accused of having canceled one. Instead of responding in a friendly manner and finding a solution, I had to show my email as proof and no apology was given. Instead, with displeasure, they provided us with a parking space. The new guest no longer had this and was told: “Unfortunately, a guest didn’t bring back the parking ticket for the parking garage.”You are not allowed to use anything (garden, seating area) from the afternoon onwards no one is there. We smoked in front of the hotel and asked for ashtrays, none of them. Then unfortunately the area in front of the hotel was used. Then we emptied our pocket ashtray in the bathroom and were very cheekily and threateningly accused of having smoked in the room and immediately threatened with a fine. Then in the kitchen we are made fun of as pigs because the breakfast table was no longer so tidy. (Which is normal when you're sitting at a table with four people). It had never happened before that the hotel guests stood in front of the door and smoked. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to go into the garden because it was wet and we would bring the dirt in with us and we would have disturbed the birds. (see picture, note the averaging at the table)The ventilation and heating in the bathroom have not been cleaned for years. (see pictures) So disgusting. There was dust and cobwebs in the corners of the room. The owners have the wrong profession - friendliness - courteousness - service is absolutely non-existent. We were traveling with 8 women and had a lot of fun in Trier despite the circumstances. This hotel should no longer be advertised like this on all portals.
