Good value for money, clean room and bathroom, small but with high ceiling. Nice, rich breakfast with really tasty bread and lots of ingredients to choose from. Friendly and helpful staff.A bit noisy due to the central location, but both the historic center and the main train station are within walking distance. A small minus due to the lack of an elevator.

Beautiful old building, central location, but with the disadvantage of street noise. The intersection was particularly popular for very noisy driving on the night from Saturday to Sunday.Sunday went to Monday.Rooms are clean, even if something is getting old here and there.Breakfast was great, there was enough of everything and it was fresh.Unfortunately the adjacent restaurant is closed due to lack of staff. But food options are sufficiently available within walking distance.

The two of us arrived by bike at 6 p.m. The reception was very nice, despite construction work we were able to park our bikes safely in the courtyard.The rooms are solid, definitely good for a night in transit.The location of the hotel is good, many restaurants and the old town, as well as supermarkets, can be reached perfectly in 15 minutes.What stood out the next morning was the breakfast, a good selection, very nicely prepared, you can say with love. We were given a really warm welcome and they made sure that everything was nice for us.Unfortunately, there was also something negative to experience after breakfast.We get our bikes ready to continue our journey and hand over our keys.The lady at reception couldn't be surpassed in her insignificance, so much so that we were annoyed that we even exchanged a word with her.When we went out we mentioned again how good and nice the breakfast in the house was. The answer we get is: “That’s what she’s paid for!”Even in his entire demeanor, no smile, his eyes radiate rejection. Just don't come back, you stupid guests.That was our feeling when we said goodbye.That's really a pity. I would have liked to give 5 stars for the service. It almost became one, but that's also quite unfair.I hope other guests experience it better than we did.Otherwise it was a great stay in Cottbus!

Dear old town hotelSince they didn't want to listen to us when we checked out... unfortunately this was the way. I don't know when the photos are from, but unfortunately our room didn't look anything like the picture! Our apartment was worn out, unclean and the fridge (which was supposed to keep our food cold) had to be turned off at night because it was incredibly loud!The breakfast on both days wasn't as nice as shown in the pictures. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed overall with the “3-star hotel”!The staff, however, was very nice!! :) And pets are allowed <3

Very good selection for breakfast on the second day. Guests were not informed about wearing mouth and nose protection at the breakfast buffet. Perhaps this is a voluntary thing for guests in breakfast rooms in Cottbus

Since I usually always stay somewhere else in Cottbus, but unfortunately there was no room available this time, I had to change my orientation. I chose the “Altstadthotel am Theater”. The deciding factor for me was the location. It's not directly in the historic old town, but just a few minutes' walk and you're right in the middle of it all. As the name suggests, the hotel is not a modern building, but an old multi-story house, possibly from the Wilhelminian era. The advantage here is the parking lot next door, which is offered to hotel guests for little money. My room was quite small and not very modern. Nevertheless, I was satisfied with my business overnight stay. But what particularly impressed me was the breakfast the next morning! This takes place in a former restaurant in the basement of the hotel. The restaurant is called "Friedrich's" and is currently only used as a breakfast restaurant for the attached hotel.A very pleasant atmosphere awaited me. After a long time, this breakfast was once again a breakfast that you could enjoy with anticipation and inner satisfaction. I would describe it as extraordinary in these times. The selection was very good and I was particularly impressed by the attention to detail. Here the sausage and cheese were not simply taken out of the package and piled onto a tray, but were arranged with love and beautifully garnished with greens. In addition to boiled eggs, there was also scrambled eggs, which I absolutely loved. Small sausages and also pre-rolled pancakes or omelets that you could spread with applesauce or jam. Since Cottbus is on the edge of the Spreewald, I also have a pot of pickled cucumbers - there were two of them here: one gherkin and one mustard gherkin. But that's not all, with various olives and peppers, radishes, party tomatoes, sliced apple slices and peeled tangerines, right up to a nice selection of cheese with a matching fig mustard sauce and a pleasant selection of sausage and ham, no wish remained unfulfilled.The nice colleague obviously does her job with a lot of love. This is a big plus point for me and I would like to express my thanks for this great breakfast experience. Unfortunately, that doesn't happen so often these days. For me, breakfast is still the start of the day and it worked very well here.Thank you for that.

We stayed in the house for one night and were given a very friendly welcome and immediately informed about the best way to get into the city and have a good meal. There was also a city map with directions to the town hall. Thanks for that. The room was very large, everything was clean and the bed was comfortable. The next morning we had a great breakfast, with a great selection and really nice and cheerful service. We would be happy to come back if the opportunity arises. Greetings from A and J.

Stayed here for a concert. Free parking for hotel guests in the middle of Cottbus city was a good thing.Our room made a very luxurious impression, as if you were coming to an aristocratic villa - huge. It may have been some kind of grand hotel in the 1920s.You can sleep well here, but the location of our room at the busy intersection of two busy streets + tram is quite loud even at night with the window open.The breakfast is plentiful and very varied. We rarely sit at the breakfast table for so long.Only the WiFi left a lot to be desired and was very thin in our corner of the house.All in all, we left very satisfied. Thanks

Danger! No elevator and instead of air conditioning just a dusty, loud fan. According to the receptionist, summer only lasts 3 days in Cottbus😂 So you're out of luck to get the sleep you paid for because there's only a useless and loud plastic fan in the room, so it's a comfortable 25 degrees at night... opening the window brings nothing either because either the view is a wall (still air) or you have the main road. It's unbelievable that there wasn't even an apology for not being able to sleep, but you were charged 100 euros straight away when you checked in. If you look at the other comments, it's very clever, as complaints can no longer be complained about. Incomprehensible.
