Upon entering the hotel it was harshly worn, so a scary initial impression, check in fine, we had to manage our big bags down very several steep stair cases, crazy steep, both up and down, a maze, the area right before the last staircase to our room smelled of mold horribly, the room okay, no air circulation, bathroom seemed nice. Took a shower and the floor pitch is wrong and the bottom of the shower door does not have squeegee type thing to seal the water from running from the shower under the door to the bathroom so it floods the bathroom. Rain shower great and pressure great. Location great, near the Centraal station. Sheets clean.

Stayed one night. Very friendly girl in reception. GOT a Nice room. Big and clean. Room 31. offered coffe and snack while I was waiting for my room. Good price and absolutely worth every cent. Centrally location one minute to Damrak and 5 minutes from central station. Higly recommend.

Good hotel, very good breakfast, excellent location, although at night there is usually some noise due to the proximity to the restaurant and bar area, everything was good, the only thing missing was a little more cleaning in the bathroom of the room

We were lucky (when I read some of the comments here) to have a good room, renovated, on the 3rd floor. Everything is adequately furnished and relatively recently renovated.The cleanliness could be improved and the cleaning staff... Well, it wasn't cleaned really well. But everything is still tolerable - especially when you take the location and stars into account.The friendliness of the reception depended heavily on the staff.The location is great... everything can be reached on foot, both the train station and the city center.However, directly behind the hotel is the red light district - and there is always something going on around it.

Nice hotel, the staff are friendly. There’s nothing to do in the hotel and only food available is a breakfast room from around 7am - 10am and a couple of vending machines near reception, but it’s located in a great place just a few minutes away from central where most of the main attractions are plus lots of shops, restaurants, bars and coffee shops.

Great location for centre, close to main shops and bars and central train station. Room was clean but small and quite noisy. Room had the minimum in it, a hairdryer, one tea and coffee each, had to buy bottled water.

The location of the hotel is perfect! Close to the train station, the red light district, the tram, bars, etc.The hotel room is OK. The price wasn't really worth the room, but we stayed here during ADE, which explains the very high price I think…The bedding was comfortable and clean. The bathroom and the soundproofing of the hotel are two negative points.

Location of the hotel is amazing. Problem is that I wrote a trust pilot review about beg bugs. They simply copied a same reply from another Google review. Problem is that making customer feel like we are lieing about beg bugs. Is there any hotel standards I can complain to? Got bite marks from hotel bed bugs and you are simply coping a review you have saved in your computer. I didn't get the chance to speak to as we were leaving the hotel for a excursion. Please send me a report of the check done by your specialists.

I stayed at this hotel, Room 220 to be exact, from 4-6 October 2024. The rate per night was £174 per night for a single room which was quite expensive for the small cramped environment. The worst thing about this stay was the condition of the room, dirty damaged carpets, dirty wall, missing skirting boards, delaminating furniture, damaged wall sockets with exposed wires, door handle and access to the room was a problem and had to call for assistance to jimmy the door handle to gain access to the room. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!! It’s noisy!!! Every footstep above this room was heard which is not great when people return to their rooms 3am in the morning. The carpets throughout the floor I was on is extremely dirty. This place is a dump!! I’ve attached some photos of the room I stayed in. NEVER AGAIN!!! The worst place I’ve stayed in EVER!!!!!

I came to Amsterdam on Oct 1st and stayed at Ibis from 1st-5th. On the 5th I checked at XO hotel. I had booked it by mistake but how great was that mistake... firstly I booked at XO in a different region. In order to move it to center they charged another 100 Euro. Sure. Then before I arrival as I come from Israel and my country was under attack by Iran and Hizbulla I asked them that in case I can't make it cause of the war if I could just freeze my check in to a different date. Just for info, IBIS were positive in their service and agreed, but XO HOTEL answered me-"As you have booked a non-refundable rate and booked after October 7th, 2023, knowing that your country is a war.We cannot refund you the prepaid amount".Now, every single person that read that email thought it was a strange response. Whether hateful, insensitive, bizarre, out of line or just lack of reading abilities. Now also "No" is an answer but their answer was just disgusting. Yes i shouldn't have booked there. For sure. I explained the situation with war and flying varies and got not responce. ..Now, I came to the hotel. No welcoming at the front desk. Some kind of a bitter attitude. Never seen a service like this in any hotel. Asked for a pillow later. That didnt happe . In the room- No opening windows. Feels like prison. They are blocked. You can't breath in the room. The Venta in the toilets is loud. An extremely hard and harsh smell of poisonous mold hit you everytime you entered the toilets.. just awful. Extreme mold smell in the room.... in the carpet.. in the dining room, tiny hallways. The only thing that was ok was the bed that was soft and they put coffee machine in the rooms (though i don't drink coffee).I had left the days after. I just ran.From the unhealthy mold, bad service. Nasty vibe and attitude. I can't even care less about my money that I lost. I hope that people will read this an save their miney. booked back at IBIS which quickly told me "welcome back home". Better to add a bit more money there and receive service and a good clean and fresh place to stay.P.s. XO HOTEL,I did book after October 7th 2023, but I didn't survive the stay after October 7th, 2024 ;)Am Israel Chai.

Hotel is average. Our room was very small, floor was uneven and easy to trip on. TV did not work for the entire first day. A male staff member also opened our door whilst we were in the room and had verbally responded to his knock. Made us feel quite uncomfortable. You are getting what you pay for really. Location is very good and central. Staff are friendly.
