Worst hotel ever. BED BUGS !! (Among other creatures). I wish I would have checked the reviews before booking this place. The rooms are old, dirty and small but it’s not the worst part ;) I was sitting on the bed with low light on and after few minutes 2 bed bugs appeared on me. I directly went to the reception but the receptionist could care less, I don’t blame him he is probably used to it.. before that I also saw one in the bathroom (which is a sign that this place is infested). If you don’t want to bring extra pets with you at home I recommend you don’t book this place. And for the price you would find much better

I do not give any rating to the room. Rooms do not correspond to the photos, dirty, wallpaper is detached and badly placed, carpet is dirty, mattresses stained with cycle, torn curtains, peeling skirting boards. We stayed in three different rooms, because during the first night we had to escape from the room because we had a mouse in the room that walked on the desk and on our things and ate the still sealed sandwich given to us on the plane. They moved us to another room at 1.30 am as an emergency with only two beds, there were three of us and without a bathroom in the room, we adapted. They then moved us to a triple room which was always small and always with badly placed and small beds. This is where we found bed bugs. A tragedy! It is to be recommended to our worst enemy!

Located in a residential area, the Flipper Hotel is a little bit hidden between the neighborhoods along the Amstel. Reaching the rooms upstairs is quite challenging as the stairway is pretty steep. We were there during a renovation of recreational room (which is usually used for breakfast) I would not recommend the hotel if you want a cozy/luxurious place to stay - it's enough to spend the nights.

In fact, this good value for money hotel seems "adequate".The staff is pleasant and there is always someone to answer our questions, the bike rental on site is a plus and advantageous if you pay in cash...The location is well located with restaurants and supermarkets just a few pedal strokes away. Allow 20 minutes by bike to go to the port. The bathrooms and the shared shower for some rooms are clean even if the shower is a little small...The only downside and not the least is unfortunately the bed fleas in our room which seemed clean to us but upon closer inspection, was summarily cleaned. The first days we thought we were bitten by mosquitoes but we quickly understood that unfortunately it was indeed bed fleas.... The management was informed and of course we felt the discomfort... The director of the The establishment offered to reimburse us for the rental of the bicycles as compensation.... We accepted the compensation because we just wanted to escape but which it seems to me was not up to the inconvenience because these little creatures followed us until 'at home !!! Treatment of clothes, suitcase thrown in the trash, itching for 15 days and trauma!!This hotel could have ticked all the boxes but unfortunately this bad experience means that we will look for another hotel in Amsterdam for our next stays and it's a shame because the place was really not bad....

I would give this hotel 0 stars if I could.I booked this hotel with a friend for August 2-5, and upon seeing our room we found bed bugs, stained sheets, and suspicious stains on walls. We immediately went down to the front desk, and handed the woman the bug in a ziploc bag. She was sympathetic, and messaged her manager to ask for a refund. He approved her request to refund us for the stay, and she refunded us the city tax on the spot. We booked through Expedia, and she said it may take a couple of days to get the refund. We left and found another hotel for those 3 nights, as the woman at the front desk assured us we would be refunded. We would not have left otherwise. After a few weeks, there was still no refund. I contacted Expedia, who contacted the hotel manager on 3 separate occasions about the refund, and he denied the request every time. Expedia does not have the authority to refund us, so we are out over $800.The Expedia reviews only had 1 mention of beg bugs months prior, so we thought the hotel would be fine. We did not see the Google reviews. After reading them, I'm shocked this hotel is still in business. Not due to the obvious beg bug problem, but due to the manager's clear disregard for people's concerns and the way the hotel treats its guests.
