Average boutique hotel full of quirkiness - kids loved the basketball ring and ball. We stayed in a loft (one of the larger rooms)- whilst it may have the appearance of amazing in the photos, it wasn't as comfortable or relaxing as it should be. Expect noise from other floors, outside traffic noise, windows not shutting etc, broken shutters. The room got hot at night and the fancy fan provided was loud and not practical. Location was excellent. Breakfast was not bad, just above average. For the price it was quite expensive for what you got.

Yes, the rooms can be small and a bit worn but the hotel has great character and has everything we needed including a nice rooftop view. Concierge services were excellent and the breakfast, which does cost a bit extra, was very nice. We did upgrade to a triple and were able to check-in around 10:00a. The bed and pillows were very comfy!

I understand that in Amsterdam the accommodations are small...But here, I practically had to put the suitcase under the bed, to be able to open the bedroom door...Their breakfast is quite good, and their collaborators are VERY attentive. Not to mention the location...Another thing, I DID NOT LIKE having to pay an extra TAX to visit your city...

Do not stay here.The walls are basically dry wall and nothing else and the door may as well be made of cardboard.Every sound from the rooms next door and opposite, the hallway, the court yard, and in our case the reception area, is audible at all hours of the day.I don't mind the rooms being small, or the amenities basic (no fridge, no clothing iron), or that in general the rooms are looking pretty tired and worn (props to the photographer, the pictures really are deceptive). I don't mind these things because the location is good and the staff were friendly and polite.However.What I do mind is the following:A) Struggling to get to sleep over the sound of the midnight conversation in the room next to you, which is what I am listening to as I write this review.B) Being woken up constantly throughout the night by the banging doors of other rooms and hallway doors, which remarkably slam shut with some volume despite offering zero sound proofing.C) Being woken up at dawn by the clanging of who knows what in the courtyard that our window looks out over.D) Having the privilege of sharing a tiny hallway with the luggage storage area, which also was quite busy and noisy first thing in the morning.So if you value a decent sleep don't make the same mistake we did and avoid this hotel. For the price it really is a joke. Amsterdam is not a large city and is very easily navigated and I would happily forgo the location for just one uninterrupted night's sleep.

Hotel beyond its sell by date - room we stayed in was airless and kept the heat during the day which meant by nighttime you could not sleep as there was no air con ||Room super small and super tired - particularly the bathroom ||All in all 10 out of 10 for location 4 out of 10 for facility comfort and price

Very charming decor and in a great location close to the museums and public transport. The staff was very kind and helpful, and the rooms were warm and cozy even during the cold nights. I enjoyed my stay here very much and would definitely recommend it to friends!

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights and were delighted. While the room was small, it was very manageable and the location, neighborhood, staff and feel of the hotel made up for it entirely. Close to museums, buses and trams, in a very safe neighborhood, it was a delight to return to each night. Each and every member of the staff exceeded all of our expectations. It is a beautiful boutique hotel that we will return to and recommend to anyone going to Amsterdam.
