Well placed for transport. Good soundproofing. Pleasant welcome. Convenient shared kitchen. Arriving before check-in time, they were kind enough to give us a room which supposedly was ready even though the one normally assigned to us was not. But the cleaning was not done properly at all. We quickly put down our bags and immediately went for a walk without inspecting the room. In the evening, when we returned, we noticed that the cleaning was not perfect in the bathroom. Lots of large black hairs on the floor, the hair dryer sticking to the hand and hair also stuck on the air outlet. The bottom of the toilet bowl was full of urine stains. And there were two open bottles of water in the top bunk. We reported it the next morning. They told us he would clean up. They folded the duvets and changed the towels but didn't clean anything at all. It's regrettable. Little storage space. no place to put things in the bathroom. Very mixed opinion on this Meininger...

In my opinion, there should have been a double bed, more warm clothes on the bed and the option to turn off the fan, because it was a little noisy.There was no cleaning of the room from one day to the next but towels were provided for both days.Simple but very varied and appetizing breakfast.

When you pay 700 EUR, it is very “cheap” to ask for 6 EUR to store the luggage a few hours before room is available!The whole place feels like a youth hostel.

The Meininger hotel in Amsterdam was a real surprise. Attached to the Amstel station (metro tram and bus) it turned out to be super convenient.The large hall with tables and shared kitchen make it very welcoming.The room, a quadruple room with a bunk bed, is simple but functional, although not equipped with some comforts such as a minibar (better that way!) it is pleasant and comfortable.The service provides for room cleaning on request to avoid waste, you must be careful to request it the day before!The breakfast is excellent, I would have expected a greater choice of savory foods but otherwise we were satisfied.The staff is courteous and helpful, ready to meet requests.The value for money is definitely advantageous, I recommend it, I'll come back!

We booked a room that sleeps six people, but the space was incredibly small and there were no designated areas for guests to move around without disturbing others. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired: we found blankets lying on the floor with blood after they "cleaned", the bathroom was out of paper and soap on two nights in a row, and on the last day they didn't even leave clean towels. I had to go down to ask for them personally, since there was no way to contact the staff from the room.Overall, it was a disappointing and stressful experience. I would not recommend this hostel and I definitely will not return.

The service was pretty good and the people here were very helpful ,i believe it's the best location we could ask , the hotel is located right beside the metro and a bus station , there is a McDonald's in front of the hotel , a pharmacy and a supermarket.And as for the price i believe it the second cheapest hotel in amsterdam. Worth the 5 stars.

I've been to this chain several times before but this time I was really disappointed.Check in was problem free... Then we came to the room where the toothbrush glasses were missing and there was a trace of towels which we of course got at the reception where my husband was laughed at in disbelief.The room or bathroom was dirty, the hairdryer was dirty, but I'm not a complaining person per se, so I unpacked the hygiene wipes and wiped them down. In the evening in the room we had the beautiful room 103 with direct access and a view of the bus stop, so first we opened the curtains to the ceiling and mayo stains in the bed... ok, calmed down, we had an uncomfortable room for 4 people, we first brought the beds over from the bunk bed. So the nightmare of the hotel was still not over. The breakfast issue is simply overcrowded. Either you are ready to get up early for your vacation or if you are later like us, the food is already spread out over to good to go, but I think it's great Not nice when you turn around and the cheese disappears into a Tupperware container.On the day of check-out at 10:30 a.m. we were still getting ready, room service simply opened the door and stood in the room. I was in the bathroom. My husband then asked him to leave because check-out was at 11 a.m. I'm only giving it a second star because I remember it better from the other houses.

Very close to the metro station and buses that leave you in the center in a short time, but the room services are minimal... you have to pay for everything... and the pillows are very bad and the mattress sunken... the common areas are very complete.

I recently stayed at the MEININGER in Amsterdam and unfortunately found it lacking. Given its reputation as a hostel-hotel hybrid, I expected more, especially considering the price. The amenities were minimal; there were no complimentary water bottles, heaters, or any real service to speak of.To make matters worse, I was charged a city tax of 50 EUR that wasn't mentioned in my booking confirmation. Additionally, they impose fees for early check-in, luggage storage, and late check-out, which feels excessive for a place that caters to budget travelers.While it might be sufficient for a short 1 day stay, I wouldn’t recommend it for longer trips like mine (4 days). It’s frustrating to pay city tax and not even receive a basic courtesy like a free bottle of water. Plus, there’s no phone service in the rooms—if you need anything, you have to go down to the front desk.Overall, my experience was disappointing.

As a family of five, it's great to have a hotel that has up to six beds in one room!We were able to book breakfast and a parking garage - very practical.We had our own bikes with us, but there are also rental bikes on site. Everything is easy to reach.Everyone particularly liked the breakfast buffet.We'd love to come back.

Nice hotel that seems like a mixture of hotel and youth hostel. The hotel is located right next to the Amstel train station and from there you can take several trains to the center of Amsterdam in 3-5 stops, depending on where you want to go. As far as the rooms are concerned, the 4 bed rooms are sufficient for 2 adults and 2 teenagers, you just sleep there and that's enough. We found the air conditioning extremely negative because it couldn't be adjusted properly and ran all night long with a very high volume and cool temperatures. Here it didn't matter what we set, it didn't change. When it comes to cleanliness, the bathroom was particularly noticeable. When cleaning, you should also go over the hairdryer and the sockets. The whole area could also be cleaned better. The breakfast was ok, but the price was too high for what was on offer! In the evening it wasn't good for guests that the hotel bar was already closed at 7 p.m.

Very convenient location right off the metro station and close to a supermarket.We were a family of 5 and stayed in 6 person bunk bed room which was great, except for they locker/storage system under the beds.They were super noisy and our kids hurt their heads almost everyday with the top slamming down, please change them.The rooms were very quiet and we could not hear anything from outside.Apart from that, the common kitchen is small but very useful and the nice picnic tables are great for family dinners.
