FeWo Zur Oase der Ruhe

We stayed in the “Zur Oase der Ruhe” apartment for 8 days at the end of May 2020.We have been vacationing in apartments for more than 20 years and have now traveled half the world.The facilities here surpassed anything we have ever experienced. Starting with a kitchen that leaves nothing to be desired -4 ring stove, oven, dishwashing liquid, dishcloths, tea towels and much more that we can't list, from a bathroom with a working shower, towels, toilet paper to wonderfully comfortable mattresses in the bedroom, fly screens on all windows, a parking space right in front of the terrace in sight, everything was perfect.Friends of ours had booked the neighboring apartment for a few days. The four of us were able to sit on the covered terrace, and when we told Mr. Schwibbe that we wanted to grill, a short time later the grill area was cleaned very clean and a gas grill was ready. When we were done grilling, we didn't have to worry about anything else.You could order fresh bread rolls every day for the next day, the apartment was large and spotlessly clean.Even we as southern Germans really liked Mr. Schwibbe's dry humor. You could ask anything, the heating worked well and quickly, it rained once, which was bearable on the large terrace.Schwibbes have an aviary with lots of birds, budgies and parrots, which always spread a happy atmosphere.The location is good, quickly to the beach, there are some very good restaurants and lunch bars in the neighboring town, the butcher is incredibly good, and there is an organic farm nearby where you can see happy little calves. Free WiFi, a wonderful garden and - the name really says it allHalli-Galli is wrong here, if you want to relax and not have to worry about anything, this is the ideal place.We had actually booked Crete, but had to reschedule because of Corona.We don't regret a second in Waddens, it was great.

Quiet, clean, very suitable for families with children

As a family with a small child, we went on vacation for a week in Butjadingen in the summer of 2018 and lived in one of the two 40 square meter holiday apartments in the “Oasis of Peace” with the Schwibbe family.Although it was clear to us that we couldn't expect a lot of comfort given the low price for accommodation, we didn't realize that this also meant unfriendliness and false promises.The holiday apartment itself is located on a busy main road, is very functionally furnished and most of the furnishings are already very old. As we learned from a friend, there were probably small welcome sweets or something similar upon arrival, but that wasn't the case with us. In terms of cleanliness, almost everything was fine on the surface, but the windows, the corners and the ceilings apparently hadn't been cleaned for a long time because there were cobwebs everywhere. The worst thing, however, was that the holiday apartment did not have any fly screens, which is absolutely unacceptable near the water in warm temperatures. On the first evening we chased around 30 mosquitoes and on the following days there were countless mosquitoes in the holiday apartment despite the windows being mostly closed. Accordingly, we were all disappointed by the end of the vacation.Despite the good weather, the garden model train advertised on the homepage was never in operation during the entire week, as Mr. Schwibbe was more busy clearing the system of leaves and dirt with his vacuum cleaner. The play equipment and vehicles for children in the shed are also almost all in poor condition. We pointed out to the Schwibbe family on the first day that the two handcarts were defective and unusable (flat tires, etc.), but no one repaired these defects during the entire week.The small corner shop run by the Schwibbe family in the same house has almost empty shelves, but there is at least the possibility of ordering bread rolls for the next day. Above all, Mr. Schwibbe struck us negatively as a very unpleasant, grumpy and taciturn fellow; Most of the time he sits in the kiosk surrounded by the strong, cold smell of cigarette smoke. We did not receive a farewell when we returned the keys before departure. He just wanted the piece of paper with the WiFi code back, which was completely incomprehensible to us because the code is unusable for us after we leave and he himself can certainly print it out again for new guests without any problems. In general, the free internet is almost unusable because on the one hand it is slow and on the other hand it appears to be censored.All in all, this accommodation is not recommended. There are much nicer, more modern and better located accommodations in the area for a little more money that are definitely worth a look.

Well, we were there for the second time at the turn of the year and now during the summer holidays, simply perfect, I can only pass that on!!! I don't know what everyone's expectations are, we hope to get a place again next year!!!
