We chose the hotel because it seemed ideal for our planned excursions.Even though the location is incredibly beautiful, driving up from Berchtesgaden is a bit annoying. Of course there are far more remote accommodations, but you can't even quickly walk somewhere and do/get something. The rooms were no longer up to date and looked a bit older. The beds felt a bit shabby, but everyone has their own preferences when it comes to sleeping. What should/must be highlighted in any case is the service of the staff. Always on the ball when you want something and super nice. People had a good time here.Breakfast was adequate. More choice is always possible, but it doesn't have to be necessary. You know what you have and it was always delicious. We also had dinner at the inn once. But the portions were a bit too small for the price.October 7, 2024

Everything is getting pretty old. Hard and low beds. Noisy rooms, you can hear everything your neighbor does. Family hotel, resulting in children screaming and trampling. The food and service were good and friendly, but not cheap. Room cleaning was poor. The cleaning staff is very friendly but the dead and visible wasp in the room remained in the room until the last day. Bathrooms quite poor. Shower head old, fittings leaking. Shower curtain unhygienic and too short. Extractor fan extremely loud. You can also hear it from the neighbor at night. Constant noise from traffic and agriculture opposite. The machines start at 7 a.m. Well located for hikers, but rather unsuitable for less enthusiastic exercise enthusiasts as you can only get to the next towns by bus or car. The outdoor area to the left of the hotel entrance will be a playground. But it is a weedy and desolate storage place for unused things. You have a beautiful view of the mountains and the beautiful valley, but it is not undisturbed or quiet. If you have a smoking neighbor on the balcony, you have to close the windows otherwise everything will drag into your room.

So I was there with my son and when we checked in we were shocked the room was smaller than in the pictures the parking situation was really not solemn and the mattresses on the bed were very sagging the three days really didn't convince us apropo 3 days we would be We were actually there for 5 days but we were so unconvinced that we just left earlier. Oh yes, after all that, the chapel next door was so loud at night that we kept getting up. The only positive thing was the food on site, which was real delicious 😊

I give this accommodation a benevolent 3 stars, I always book a lot of accommodation to see the cities, and it doesn't have to be the best. Here at the Maria Gern, I booked a year ago with the intention of really treating myself. After a little research, I shortened my vacation and didn't regret it, I have to say. Nothing about the mountain view, then one morning I was awake quite early and was suddenly startled because a caterpillar or something similar scurried across the bed; that was also where the night had passed for me. After I had been out for the day, when I came back in the evening my door was open, so anyone could have gone in, but the cleaning lady forgot to close it. Another flaw is that the buses on the line tend to be too long The service is poor, the last bus leaves at 6:15 p.m. and it's definitely too far to walk, especially since it's only a steep climb. But at the same time, the location can also be seen as a positive aspect because you're up there really has peace.
