We went to the golden star for lunch on weekdays and ate very good duck with 2 dumplings and super good red cabbage and were served by the boss. Everything, including the price/performance ratio, was excellent!!

Very good restaurant with delicious regional food

Actually good accommodation with weaknessesI stayed here as part of a hike on the Goldsteig. Very nice and warm hosts, a real family business. I ate there in the evening, the food was tasty and good. Home cooking. Great Zoigl beer. The location directly below the castle with a view of it is really great.However, the room was enjoyable with a few drawbacks. It may be that after Corona and everything there is no budget for large-scale renovations, which would actually be necessary again because the carpets and furniture are really worn out. It could also be painted again. But the price is also very OK and therefore this condition is acceptable.But what is not acceptable:- open electrical system (missing lamp cover above the bed, where you can reach in while half asleep)- Mold in the shower, which can be removed by simply cleaning (I tried). I never saw such a moldy shower again on my entire trip. Vinegar cleaner and brush work wonders.- The biggest drawback, and it also has something to do with security: that the outside access door to the stairwell to the rooms is locked during the day and at night when the restaurant is closed. The innkeeper informed me that he would be closing. So I was prepared. However, I couldn't open this door with my room key/front door key, the lock was stuck and I couldn't get out of the restaurant, neither at the front nor at the back. People from outside helped me, and I'm neither stupid nor so old and rickety that I'm absolutely helpless.Note from the landlady when asked about this: Yes, it just gets stuck sometimes.I don't know whether the innkeepers here are simply blind to the business or whether it's simply ignorance. So let’s be very clear: This is a security risk. An escape route must ALWAYS be open to the outside when guests and people in fear are there. No matter where, whether at Aunt Emma's in the village shop or in an industrial company. This is a mandatory safety regulation and actually a case for the trade inspection office. If there is a fire, which we don't hope will happen, older people in particular will be trapped. So please rethink your locking system! Thank you also on behalf of all future guests who don't want to be faced with the same problem as me if the worst comes to the worst.

We were invited as guests to a wedding. Due to the further journey including 2 nights.What can you say? It was great. Very warm support. The rooms were perfectly fine for 4 people (2 adults, 2 children).The breakfast in the morning was always rich. A request for the kids was easily accommodated.As a guest at the celebration you always felt welcome. The design and decoration as well as the atmosphere and rooms were excellent. We needed a canvas, which we were happy to provide. There was also space for a photo box.The food and drinks were great, the waitresses were on point and very friendly.Overall - highly recommended.

We celebrated our wedding at the Golden Star and everything was exactly as we imagined it.A super friendly family of owners (who even repair guests' shoes if this emergency occurs :-D) a great, friendly and courteous team of employees, a super nice hall and an excellent wedding menu.The accommodation for the guests followed by breakfast was also very well received and the place generally invites you to stay.Everyone who celebrated the day with us there would have liked to have done it longer because everything was just great from start to finish.Simply recommendedIt's a shame the day went by so quickly :-)

Went there for dinner while passing through. Super good food, nice service, great prices. Just like a Bavarian village inn must... absolutely recommended.. is part of a holiday in Bavaria..

Here you will find the best culinary delights and the friendliest service.The room is cozy but by no means old-fashioned.The homepage is always kept up to date and the small, fine and regional, seasonally changing menu is available there.Child-friendliness is very important. There is a menu for the little ones, a very well-stocked play area, high chairs and a changing table.Be sure to reserve by phone!
