A beautiful hotel in an old half-timbered house and a new guest house. We are there for the second year in a row and love it. Cozy and in a great location, family friendly. Very tasty breakfast and original delicious restaurant for dinner. We are already looking forward to the next visit.

As soon as I entered the very outdated room (in the “new building”), I noticed a musty smell. The strong smell was particularly intense in the interior bathroom. The bathroom ceiling was already moldy and the shower also urgently needed renovation.The room itself was obviously only cleaned cursorily, it's better not to look into the corners.Unfortunately, the WiFi only worked partially, which is really annoying for business travelers.In short: the room is more than disappointing for the advertised hotel category.At least it was quiet at night.

We booked the cozy days and spent 2 great nights here. The staff were without exception very friendly, open-minded, positive and accommodating. The feeling of well-being began right at check-in when we were allowed to choose the style of our room. We were also offered the breakfast room service at NO extra charge. The parking spaces were free. Also incredibly positive is a free self-service refrigerator on the floor for regional soft drinks if the 2 water bottles in the room are not enough. And that too with NO extra charge. We have never experienced this before and were extremely impressed with the service. Our room was clean and nicely decorated. The 4-course menus in the restaurant also exceeded our expectations, as guests can choose the composition of the meal themselves instead of being presented with one menu. The food was delicious and plentiful, the service organized and friendly. The breakfast was great, with a view of the beautiful garden. Rich selection and here too the friendliness of the staff particularly stood out. As a city, Suhl definitely has nothing to offer that would be worth the price of admission. But this hotel and the surrounding Thuringian Forest would get more than 5 stars from us. We will definitely recommend this hotel and visit again. A little insider tip with a big relaxing effect

Arrive and feel good. This facility is top and the highlight is the breakfast buffet.Excursions are possible from the hotel. The old town or the observatory are easily accessible on foot.There are a few museums in the city itself. The best way to get to know the region in Thuringia is to join a city tour.

I stayed in the Goldener Hirsch in Suhl during a business trip. The hotel is in a very quiet location. The staff is very friendly, just the Thuringian charm. The dinner was plentiful, local and excellent. The rooms are very clean and well furnished. Chilled drinks (mineral water and soft drinks) were available free of charge in the hallway at any time of the day or night. The breakfast at the Gasthaus Goldener Hirsch is largely prepared with regional foods.The only drawback is the little-used street in front of the guest house. This is paved with cobblestones, so you can hear every car there.

We were in a larger group for Sunday lunch in the restaurant. And were really disappointed.At these prices you would expect different service and food quality. Unskilled operator who is not familiar with the minimum amount of labels. THE standard dish in Thuringia, roulade with dumplings, which I have eaten here many times over the years, was really bad: the dumplings were soggy with water, the sauce was tasteless, the roulade was at best satisfactory. At least the red cabbage was tasty. Other meals in the group were similar, we won't be here any more soon, if at all.That's not how gastronomy works. It's a shame.

For me, Suhl is my favorite place to go when it comes to top-notch Thuringian cuisine and especially game dishes!!!A dignified ambience paired with tradition and modernity gives the guest room a special, but also familiar and cozy look.The young ladies from the service also contribute to the positive atmosphere and not to forget to quench hunger and thirst.The food is first class and also fairly priced. Nowadays, restaurateurs also have to try to survive, and that's not possible if you give away the treasures from the kitchen!!!In front of the restaurant there is a sizeable (mostly covered) beer garden 🍻Parking is available, I would say plenty. And a reservation never hurts; You don't know which larger group has planned a celebration again... 😎

The staff at the reception were totally friendly, nice, I think they already had a good reception on the first day.Food great, nothing to criticize, staff throughout the hotel area, gastro, super nice, rooms clean, hotel is located in a beautifully landscaped green area and even has a cute playground for the little ones, we are thrilled and would be happy to come back.

Nice beer garden that was almost empty when we arrived. We wanted to ask which table we could take, but unfortunately we had to wait forever. Only after asking at reception did a waitress come.Service was friendly. In general, prices have risen significantly. No problem if the food is delicious. Visually great, unfortunately not in terms of taste. The Rostbrätel was not pickled and the meat was hard to chew. That was different. Very unfortunate...

I think the rooms are quite good. I'm here for the third time because there are a few competitions (shooting sports) taking place here and we're staying here with the squad. The breakfast is delicious and offers a good selection. For dinner we always look for restaurants nearby, of which there is a pleasant selection. When it comes to WiFi, I support many. There is simply no working WiFi here and not everyone can, as in my case, “live” on mobile data alone for four days. Otherwise it's very nice here and the rooster that you can always hear from the neighboring garden is pretty funny too. But I would be very happy if the WLAN problem could be solved and I will ask the reception again about this. I really like the fridge with the free drinks. It's definitely pretty cool Edit: if you ask the reception very nicely, they'll restart the router and then the WiFi works very well
