What should have been a fun weekend with friends turned out to be a complete disaster.The house was very dirty upon arrival. There were no curtains in a few rooms. Deposit is not refunded without reason.The owner was very rude. I would not recommend this guesthouse!

DISASTIC EXPERIENCE - DO NOT Book This Holiday Home!Our stay in this holiday home was an absolute nightmare. We had high expectations, but everything was disappointing - and you can take that literally.When we wanted to use the so-called "cosy" pub/bar in the house, we discovered mouse droppings everywhere. It was really disgusting and unsanitary. We didn't dare have a drink near there anymore, let alone use the bar.As if that wasn't bad enough, we found mold in the bathroom. The walls and even the shower curtain were covered in black spots. The smell of damp and mold was so intense that we could barely take a shower without feeling nauseous. It looked like this bathroom hadn't been cleaned in months.And then the sleeping area: there were simply not enough beds for the number of guests we specified when booking. This meant that some of us had to sleep on the floor or on makeshift beds, which totally ruined our holiday comfort.This holiday home was a big disappointment from start to finish. It is filthy, poorly maintained, and completely unsuitable for the number of people it should accommodate. This house is absolutely NOT recommended. Don't waste your money and your holiday here

Location was good but the rest was so bad that I just don't want to give more than 1 star.First we didn't have the right number of rooms. Toilet seat broken and in pain all weekend. I don't even talk about the kitchen and it was filthy.We brought our own beer glasses and then Madame withholds our deposit because we supposedly broke their beer glasses. She also wanted to use this for cleaning, but we simply booked that.Look after. I also read reviews beforehand that they wrongly kept the deposit, but I didn't take this too seriously. That was a stupid mistake.

Terrible Stay - Unsafe and Unsanitary! From start to finish it was a disaster. It started while I was sleeping: I found a large spot of mold under my bed. The air was damp and stale, and I wonder how long this had been there. Sleeping in that room felt downright unsafe and dirty. As if that wasn't enough, the toilet seat turned out to be broken. This made for an extremely painful experience every time we used the toilet.The lock on the bedroom door was broken. So anyone could walk in straight away.It is clear that the owner has made no effort to properly maintain this house. It was a disgusting experience that completely ruined our holiday. Definitely not recommended!

Very disappointing stay with our group. Several attempts have been made to contact the landlord, without result. As the tip of the iceberg, our deposit was wrongly withheld. It's not the location.

Unfortunately it was very disappointing, you could move the beds at your own discretion, but it was dirty under the beds, and later we received angry messages that a bed had been changed while the description states that this is allowed. She blamed us for breaking glasses, but we never used the glasses from there because we brought our own glass and plastic cups. The locks were not good, others just entered our apartments.

This accommodation does not even deserve 1 star. The floor was sticky on arrival and there was mold on some of the beds. We first grabbed a mop to make things a bit presentable.We rented the apartment because it seemed to have a nice bar. This turned out to be a rancid, dusty thing, with dirty glasses. In the end we ordered a tap ourselves, with our own glasses. Very special, because the owner accuses us of stealing her glasses (which apparently cost €20 each) while they were too dirty to touch.We left the house cleaner than when we came in, but we can whistle for the deposit. The owner is extremely rude and scolds guests as if they were dogs.If, after this review, there is still one hair on your head that still thinks it won't be too bad, I would like to strongly warn you; don't do it, because that's what we thought too.

While we would normally be able to enjoy our annual friends weekend for another year, we are now very disappointed. We have been working for months to get the wrongly withheld deposit back, we hardly get any contact with the landlords and only lies are added. What should have been a fantastic holiday ended with a lot of misery....

Absolute drama. Bad communication, tap didn't work, and suddenly there were other people in the accommodation because they had rented another part.Apparently some of the unused crockery was also broken, so that's why the deposit was withheld.Accommodation is also an old dirty mess, never go there again.

Our holiday in Winterberg was completely ruined by this scandalous holiday home and the lousy service of the owner. Things started bad when we entered the house. The place was downright filthy. The floor was sticky, the kitchen was greasy and dusty, and it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. It was truly disgusting and unacceptable.But the misery didn't stop there. The owner did not adhere to the agreements we had made in advance at all. We booked specifically because there would be a beer tap, perfect for our weekend with friends. However, upon arrival the tap did not work! In the end we had to get our own beer tap, which of course entailed extra hassle and costs.And as if that wasn't enough, we were sent an absurd bill after our stay. We supposedly broke 10 beer glasses, at €20 each! A ridiculous amount for simple beer glasses. When we tried to contact them to resolve this we were treated in the rudest manner. Mrs. Birgit, the owner, repeatedly scolded us and refused to listen to our story. This was truly the epitome of bad service.This holiday home is an absolute must. Not only was it filthy and poorly maintained, but the owner is totally unreliable and rude. Save yourself the misery and book somewhere else as this was one of the worst experiences we have ever had!

We had the unfortunate pleasure of renting this vacation home, and I cannot emphasize enough how horrible our stay was. It started as soon as we entered: the whole place was filthy! The floors seemed not to have been cleaned in ages and there was dust and dirt everywhere. We had to clean everything ourselves before we felt at all comfortable.As if that wasn't bad enough, the bedroom had no curtains. We woke up way too early every morning to the bright sunlight shining in. A little bit of privacy or sleeping in? Forget it.And then the kitchen... what a disaster! There was mold in the refrigerator, not just a little, but everywhere. It looked like the refrigerator hadn't been cleaned in months. It was downright disgusting and we definitely did not feel safe storing food in it.To make matters worse, we were also scammed after our stay! The landlord has wrongly withheld our deposit, without any valid reason. After several attempts to contact us, we were completely ignored. This was nothing short of theft!This holiday home was a huge disappointment and I advise everyone to avoid this place at all costs. It is absolutely not worth the money and it completely ruined our holiday enjoyment. Do yourself a favor and find shelter somewhere else!

Bad landlord. A lot of nuisance from another group and the deposit was wrongly withheld. There is nothing in the kitchen. Boring rooms with a bank of stacked pallets. It doesn't cost much, but then you get nothing.

I'd never rent this again. There's no place at all to store your skiing material, if you bring 8 sets of skies or boards, you have to leave them outside, or bring them in. So by bringing them inside, the whole place is filled with dirt and water. There's no hangers on the wall to hang your coats or wet clothes.There's is no shower curtains, after everyone takes a shower, the bathroom has become a pool. No place to put your shampoos, nothing.The wifi doesn't work and the host does not want to fix it! After asking her she's simply rude and annoyed with you.In the rooms there is no real closet. They have hung up a piece of wood with a string on it. Hardly enough for 1 person. Definitely not for 2 sets of wet skiing clothes.The communal areas are a bare minimum, 2 homemade couches made from pallets and outdoor cushions.A cheap old table, and no place to really have fun with the group.Honestly the list goes on.If you're looking for a place just to sleep. It's not bad. But if the weather isn't great and you want to spend some time inside. You better bring board games or your own tv.And the host needs to start caring about her guest

We've only arrived today but already reviewing due to the horrible reception. On arrival, the rooms and names were mixed up. We had booked an apartment for 7 people with checking instructions for a room that were not correct, and were for another apartment. After calling the landlord, she told us too bad and we'd just have to fit 7 people in a 4 people appartement. In the end, she caved and gave us the big apartment.It doesn't stop there, as the wifi doesn't work. Again, we've called but the cleaning ladies didn't know and the landlord told is someone might come after the second call. However, we expect nothing from this.Furthermore, the decoration is quite limited, similar to what other said. The couches are just pallets with cushions, there is no big dining table - which would easily fit. Furthermore, there is no shower curtain, which consequently makes sure the whole bathroom becomes very literal, being soaked with water. Lastly, there is not really space to dry clothes as hanging options are somewhat limited with only cloth hangers and no hooks. I'm sure we'll find more things over the next few days, but the way the host has responded to our questions was rude and disrespectful and deserves a bad review.

Had an absolutely terrible experience the second time we've been here. We had booked several apartments via a large booking site, but they suddenly turned out to be unavailable upon arrival. A large apartment was offered, but with 1 bedroom less than was necessary (and booked). The apartment could not be heated on the first day, furniture made of pallets, a roller shutter that did not close, smelly bathroom, kitchen utensils and crockery incomplete and the landlord could only speak to us rudely instead of looking for solutions. To top it all off, we did not get our deposit back because a roller shutter was supposedly broken, yes, the roller shutter that did not work from day 1.Be warned, it is quite nice with a shared kitchen and restaurant, but the landlord is unreliable and not at home if there are problems.
