Just spent 4 days in September with my daughter for a family visit at this scenic Pension and Gasthaus. Karin and Markus Kilgenstein are the most wonderful hosts .The breakfast was a delight and left no wishes open, that included our view of the beautiful landscape from our room in the morning. Our visit to the Kilgenstein family left no wishes open , other than coming back.Thank you for making our visit so special !

A fantastic location at the end of a valley surrounded by forest. From the room you have a view of the beautifully landscaped large garden along the crystal clear stream.I especially love the Kneipp water treading facility and the wonderful pool, as well as relaxing on the lawn.The rooms are pleasant, beds have good mattresses and there are large balconies.The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful, and the breakfast leaves nothing to be desired

I was there from June 28th. I was a guest until June 30, 2024 and enjoyed the VERY VERY warm stay there. The rooms, the ambience, breakfast etc. were excellent. You immediately feel welcome and “at home”!

As a group we stayed with the Kilgenstein family for a weekend. I was very impressed by the landscape, a beautiful pool and Kneipp pool with a great lawn for sunbathing, very nice, warm hosts and the food was a dream. Thank you for everything and best regards

At the end of the Kahltal there is a wonderful gem at the source, the family-run Pension Kilgenstein. We have been coming here with family and friends for many years and relaxing in the beautiful nature with a fantastic garden landscape including a pool and pub. The boss and her kitchen team take care of our physical well-being with typical rural dishes and our own smoked trout. The varied breakfast with homemade jams completes the whole package. Many thanks to the Kilgenstein family for your loving care and hospitality.

I have rarely seen such a hospitable couple with such empathy.Karin and Markus are wonderful “hosts” and real all-rounders.I have rarely eaten such excellent smoked trout with a fantastic potato salad from Karin.The atmosphere is pleasant, very relaxing and the rooms are all furnished in a bit of an “old style”, functional and everything is very clean.We'll see each other again next year in August 2021 at the latest and of course every other year... I really enjoy coming to youBest regards

We were in Kleinkahl for a family celebration and felt very comfortable in the Kilgenstein family guesthouse. The scenery, the ambience, the service and the breakfast were truly outstanding. We felt very well looked after and at home and will definitely come back. We can absolutely recommend the accommodation!

Were there with a group. Unfortunately I didn't spend the night there. Enjoyed homemade cakes. Beautiful garden with swimming pool, loungers, mill wheel and much more. Family business. You can vacation here!! Great for hiking.

We had a birthday party with an overnight stay at the guesthouse.Karin our hostess is very friendly and loves children, very good food, all homemade things and the many variations of homemade jam at breakfast.The entire house, rooms and gardens, everything in top condition.You immediately feel at home.Highly recommended

We met the family here and felt completely at home.We are 8 adults (grandma/grandpa, children and children-in-law) and 6 children between the ages of 10 and 14. And there are some challenges: celiac disease, lactose intolerance, vegetarians…)But that wasn't a problem for the Kilgenstein family. We had a very good time on two evenings: once we had freshly smoked trout - for those who like that, alternatively quark and there was potato salad and bread. Plus delicious wine from Franconia and a large selection of regional beers, lemonades and other soft drinks. On the second evening, a pork neck from the charcoal oven and potatoes in their skins were prepared - that was really tasty!!! But our vegetarians were also taken care of again.In the morning we had a hearty breakfast - there was practically nothing missing. Individual requests were taken into account so that everyone started the day happy!The price-performance ratio is right! The dishes are regional, possibly organic and, above all, really tasty.Karin Kilgenstein and her husband are also really good hosts. You can feel at home, at least that's how it was for us.We look forward to next time! Stay healthy and safe everyone!

Always a nice place to get away from the stress of everyday life. Hospitality is very important here. Starting with a delicious breakfast and ending with dinner. Everyone is super nice and always concerned about the well-being of the guests. The rooms and everything are super clean. In the garden you can relax by the pool. Thank you for the great and relaxing weekend. I'm already looking forward to next year.
