Lots of forest, little network, parking a few meters away. Children can play a lot in the forest as well as go hiking, and there is also a soccer field. Lots of activities available for the children

School trip. Our child really liked it. He found eating a bit difficult. The room was equipped with a bathroom.

I was there on a school trip and it was so bad the rooms are VERY small and there are pieces of plastic in the food. On the last day we were allowed to cook our own food and the food was definitely gone, the food smelled so bad. If you want to go to a youth hostel then go to Düsseldorf or somewhere else nearby!

A great youth hostel for school trips. We were warmly welcomed and looked after. The staff is totally attuned to the guests and is always open to all concerns. There are also great programs for the children. Forest and pond specialists take the children on excursions that are playful and adapted to the children. For example, you use the surrounding forest and your own natural pond. Just beautiful! For sporting activities there is a football field, a volleyball field or badminton field and a basketball court. There is also a large open space and a fireplace right next to the youth hostel.I would particularly like to emphasize once again the friendly and professional staff! We felt very comfortable and will definitely come back.By the way, the hostel can also be easily reached by public transport.

Located in the middle of the forest. The access ends in a remote parking lot. So no direct parking options. Access to the hostel from there is unpaved. Somehow all of this is no longer up to date.

We were there with a sports group. After several hours on the bike, we arrived hungry and dirty. We had no reception even on the forecourt. We couldn't access the internet the rest of the time, let alone make phone calls. An employee proudly told us that there was warm food just for us today, but it ultimately consisted of two hash browns and two fried leftovers. We weren't allowed to eat more. There is a small kiosk downstairs, but a Twix is sold there for €1.50. Absolute rip off! There were no showers or toilets in the 8-person rooms, but there were showers and toilets in the hallway, which were not separated by gender. There was nothing to put your clothes on in the showers, which meant they were washed away completely wet. The next morning our breakfast consisted of dry rolls, sausage and cheese. Muesli can only be reached by walking across the entire hallway. Never again!

Was there myself as an 18 year old on a school trip. It is very remote and there is no way to buy anything around except from the kiosk in the JHB (you weren't allowed to bring food in either). The rooms were stuffy, small and totally outdated. In a room of 6 there were 2 sockets and in a room of 16 there was only ONE socket. One should accept that cell phones or other electrical devices are essential these days, even for young people. The WiFi didn't work and otherwise you only had "E" (i.e. basically no reception). There were strange stains on some of the mattresses (some of them on the bed linen too). The floor was made of old wood and was really loud, several of you caught a splinter. There was only one window in the room which didn't even have a fly screen. So you could decide whether you wanted to suffocate in the stuffy air or be overwhelmed by beetles and mosquito bites. In the room 16 there were 2 showers, only one of which worked halfway. There was no soap and toilet paper was almost always empty. There wasn't a big selection for breakfast but the food was otherwise quite good (but that was the only thing that was good with the exception of the beautiful forest surrounding it).NOT RECOMMENDED!!
