Very simply equipped, you have to bring everything with you. Kitchen with gas stove, but no pots, cutlery, dishes or anything similar. But well suited for youth camps. Lots of forest and landscape outside. You can have a lot of fun here.

The accommodation and its management courage by the caretaker are great. Accommodation for children's holiday leisure, just made for it.If you could still swim there, it would be the Oberhammer. But you have to use public transport with a large group. Swimming pool in Gerolstein or Prüm - journey in each direction takes over an hour.In addition, there is a tourism tax to be paid to the responsible municipality.In our case almost €500. For an association that offers children's leisure activities with volunteer team members, most of whom come from families who haven't come up with the money for it anyway. The association, which is self-sufficient on site, has to spend extra money, for example to support the gastronomic offer. We cannot go to local restaurants with groups of over 40 people or even larger, as this would exceed their capacity and there is no money at all allocated for this.However, we support the local baker, butcher and local supermarkets. With our group sizes, an average of €5,000 to €8,000 per session remains in the region and that doesn't even include the money for accommodation.Even the offers for children that are offered through this tourism tax are not interesting to us, as they only appeal to families or small groups and are unfortunately not within walking distance for the group on site.All in all, it is an imposition that municipal taxes have to be paid on the backs of these children and such clubs and that deficit budgets should be counter-financed in this way.Quickly get rid of these compulsory taxes!

Typical youth hostel on the edge of the earth. Approximately 10 rustic, very compact and simple cabins in the forest without paved connecting paths. Cabins are all the same with 8 beds, a table and up to 3 chairs, as well as a small heater. At least there are windows and doors. Otherwise there is a campfire with benches, a table tennis table, a larger, elongated hut with a kitchen and simple lounges and lots of nature. The advantage is that you cannot be heard or reported by anyone here.Finally, the bathroom: 2 bathing huts, each with a women's and a men's compartment. However, these are designed to be very dirty and user-unfriendly. 2 showers per bathroom and no shelves, hooks or anything else. All in all, a disappointing location, but with the right people you can still breathe a sigh of relief.

Unfortunately, the heaters in the lounges didn't provide enough heat even though they were turned up to full capacity. In general, a lot of things are broken, like toilet lids, etc., which could be replaced.
