We stayed in the “Spatzennest” holiday apartment in Loogh / Kerpen (Eifel), with the Schröder family, from August 4th to 11th, 2024. The term “sparrow’s nest” is deceptive. The FW is big enough for 3 people* (2 adults, 1 child + *1 toddler), everything that belongs in a FW is available. The FW was handed over to us in immaculate condition and left the same again. If you have any questions, the Schröder couple are always happy to help. The location can be described as relaxing and quiet. Deceleration is the right word here. Through traffic in town is a foreign concept! An ideal starting point for exploring the Eifel Volcano, whether on foot, by bike or by car to more distant destinations. We wish the Schröder family all the best and many more guests….

The rooms in the “Igelheim” are modern according to the circumstances. Cleanliness is ensured on surfaces that are directly visible. However, if you take a closer look, you will find dirt and dust in the bedroom and children's room.Not all glasses or dishes could be used straight away. For the price of the accommodation you could actually expect a cleaned fireplace, but you still have to sweep it yourself.Although there is a television in the apartment, it is only decorative.Overall, the accommodation is also damp, so bedding, clothing and towels constantly feel damp.We were greeted with superficial hospitality, which soon turned out to be purely commercial.Conclusion: We would never vacation here again.P.S. What also gave us a lot to think about was the fact that we found a sign on the farm "thanking" the veterinary office for an unknown ad.

I went on vacation with my family to the hedgehog home. On the surface everything was clean. Unfortunately, when I took a closer look, I was disappointed. The sleeping areas under the beds had not been cleaned and the couch in the living area was very stained. We put a blanket we brought over the couch to sit on. Unfortunately, black mold comes through in many places in the bathroom, especially in the shower.The apartment above the hedgehog home was rented at that time, unfortunately the peace and relaxation we had hoped for was gone.

I went on vacation with my family to this farm in August. The play equipment was functional but not safe. My brother injured himself on the trampoline because the fall protection was no longer fully intact. The other leisure activities were limited to pedal cars, which could only be driven over a distance of 10 m due to the location of the farm. If another holidaymaker's car is parked before renting the pedal cars, you should have good liability insurance.

I was expecting an active farm, unfortunately animals are not really welcome here, this came out in conversation with the owners. What is striking, for example, is the cage keeping of the only existing rabbit, which is not species-appropriate. In order to have at least some entertainment in the evenings, we at least had our own electronics with us, because the television and stereo were just decoration.The beds and associated linens were very damp, the water heater for showering was set to the lowest setting, so the water for showering was extremely cold. All in all, we had the feeling that they were just trying to make money.

A very cozy former farm with incredibly nice owners who are always there for the guests.If you're looking for a luxury holiday, this is (of course) the wrong place, but if you're looking for country life you'll definitely find what you're looking for here.A great holiday, especially for families, we will definitely come back.

We had a wonderful stay with the Schröder family. We stayed in the Igelheim apartment. It has two bedrooms, one of which has a bunk bed. Our kids loved it! They also loved the trampoline, the many bicycles and tractors, the rabbit, the chickens and the swing. In the house you have everything you need for cooking. From a masher to a kettle to a toaster. Very few houses have been known that were so well equipped.Spotless too, everything has been taken care of down to the last detail. The Schröders are very hospitable and lovely people. Beautiful surroundings, we walked to the Arensberg on foot with our children aged three and six and the nearby waterfall is also recommended (especially the waffle house 😉). And it is so wonderfully quiet! Slept like a baby!The farm shop and restaurant of the cheese farm on the corner is also worth a visit and nice and close.In short, we had a wonderful stay. We would love to come back again!

We had a great stay on the Schröder family farm in April this year. There was a lot to discover for our child (2 years old) from the farm animals, children's trekkers, sandpit to the playhouse. Well equipped and well located. Above all, very hospitable and warm. We'll definitely be back!

We had a wonderful family vacation (2 adults, 1 child 2 years old) on the Schröders' farm. The holiday apartment is well equipped and well located for going on excursions in the beautiful Vulkaneifel (waterfalls, zoos, castles, show dairy in Loogh...) But you can also enjoy your time on the farm - our son especially enjoys the children's vehicle fleet and feeding the animals. The hosts are super friendly and are available to help and advise. Only recommended!!!

Wonderful place. Well-kept and very clean apartment, fully equipped. You can make all kinds of fun excursions next to the forest and in the area. Also very suitable for small children with a cot, high chair, go-karts, bicycles and in the evening you can help feed the cows. Very good price/quality ratio. The owners are friendly and hospitable. Highly recommended!

During the May holidays we spent a few wonderful days in the Eifel with the Schröder family. They were extremely helpful and wanted to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The house had everything we could expect (including a cheese slicer) and there was not a speck of dust to be discovered. Walter and Elisabeth explained extensively about the area and the tourist options, but also about the farm and the animals. The 2 large Berg go-karts in the shed were fully used by our children on the dead-end street where the house is located. And they had another good tip: Eating at Schröder (no relation) in Niederehe. Also recommended!
