For someone who visits hotels only once a year on vacation, this hotel may certainly be a good place to stay. But for someone like me, who visits various hotels, accommodations and guesthouses in Germany almost every week for work, this hotel is simply outdated and very outdated. I would like to put this politely, but there is no denying that not much new has happened here since 2006.The reception staff were polite and gave us a friendly welcome. However, at first glance in the double bed room in the bathroom, there was a slightly sour smell coming from the shower drain. It seems that something has been wrong here for a long time. At first glance the room seemed clean and tidy, but upon closer inspection it became clear that the hotel was showing its age and little investment had been made. There were also no soap dispensers to wash your hands. Instead, only a 3x3 cm hand soap and no possibility of placing it cleverly on the edge of the sink. The in-room espresso machine had no instructions, and it took us several tries to get it to process our capsule. There were many unused capsules in its waste bin, suggesting that other guests had similar problems. The fridge was on but empty, which is unusual for a hotel of this price range. There was also no miner's equipment of any kind. Just a bottle of water and two glasses. The phone on the table, like everything else, looked old and yellowed. There were careless bathrobes in the closet for the sauna and pool area, but there were no flip-flops or slippers. There was also no indication of what to bring. The armchair in the room was stained and the bed was unevenly worn. So that I felt like I was lying 10 cm lower than my wife. The balcony was also disappointing. The statement about booking with a lake view turned out to be questionable as our room did not offer the expected view. The balcony furniture was fairly new, but it was impressive because of the loud creaking in its connections. The balcony railing was very dirty from the tides and bird droppings. The Douglas fir floorboards, which were installed on the balcony in a completely inexpert manner, were a grayish-black green color, were bent and partially detached from their anchors. The railing also no longer seemed particularly solid. So we visited Rheinsberg to have breakfast the next morning. There we weren't greeted particularly warmly (as usual in hotels) and no one asked us our room number and certainly not what we would like to drink for breakfast. There were only coffee pots spread out on each table. The layout of the buffet in Summer was completely confusing. The food wasn't arranged logically and it was hard to find everything. Here the butter, there the scrambled eggs, and somewhere else the sausage and pasta. There were also problems with the coffee machine, which we only discovered by accident. The breakfast room was also far too small and there weren't enough tables for all guests. 80% of the tables were designed for 2 people. We even had to turn to our neighbors at the next table to make room so we could get up from the table ourselves. This is definitely not age-appropriate or disabled-friendly.Ultimately, modern amenities such as charging stations for electric cars were missing, although parking (marked only by a barrier) cost an extra €10 per night. You can also park outside of this parking lot, you just have to keep walking. Certainly not pleasant with a lot of luggage in summer. It seems like the hotel/hotel chain doesn't invest in improvement, rests on the beautiful views of the harbor village and only aims to make money.Despite the beautiful location by the forest and the lake, these defects could not improve the overall impression. For us there will be no second time.
