I find the guesthouse to be a very good opportunity to stay overnight relatively inexpensively and with a very good starting point in terms of connections. The staff was always friendly (was here several times) and the rooms were completely fine. The negative reviews seem a bit harsh to me, so this is my full recommendation. Pension Prenzlberg is a good place to go in an increasingly expensive city.

Perfect location, but the pension itself wasn't really perfect. We had to make our own beds and we ran out of toilet paper multiple times. Once we were able to fetch some extra, but the other times it happened at night. The wifi was also quite lacking.The room appeared to be clean, but every once in a while thus sewage smell appeared.

Small guesthouse with perfect transport connections.We were there for five days in May. The rooms are visually a bit old, but everything was clean, tidy and the mattresses were great.Only the shower attachment was broken. We reported this and it was taken care of immediately.Despite facing the street, the room was absolutely quiet as soon as the windows were closed.If you wanted breakfast, which was not included in the price, you had to book it a day in advance.There was a small selection of various types of sausage and cheese, raw vegetables, fruit, yogurt, muesli, jam, tea, coffee, milk, bread and rolls. Everything was absolutely fine, except for the rolls, because they weren't edible!Our guess was that they were baked before breakfast started and when we arrived for breakfast at 9am they were very hard and dry. For this reason we didn't use it a second time, because Berlin offers countless opportunities to have a better breakfastThe staff wasn't unfriendly, but very distant. We don't know anything else like that.We would stay there again for a short trip, but not for a longer stay.

Rarely have I had such unfriendly staff and such dirty rooms. Shower had black mold on the silicone. The bottom of the shower door was broken and looked very dirty. Thick layers of dust on toilet paper holders and towel holders. Shower head holder was clamped with toilet paper to hold it to the rod. The breakfast room at the end of the hallway, the whole thing feels more like the middle of the room. If the chatter of the breakfast guests doesn't bother you, you'll be in bed when the cutlery tray falls down or the dog barks constantly. When we asked the staff about the conditions in the room and said we weren't feeling well, they said it would be taken care of. When we left 2 days later, we were of course still in the same room because there was no one at the reception after 6 p.m. and if you're there to work... it's difficult to sort that out. They said they didn't have any cash because I had to send an email with bank details. That was on Sunday. It was nicely pointed out again yesterday, but I was ignored. 450 euros for 4 nights…. Even with a 3-30% discount (which I don't get) because of the black mold, it would still be too much with such unfriendly staff.

An older guesthouse.. But clean.. Average breakfast... Pay only in cash or with a German EC card.. For foreigners, another 2% is added... Well, if someone in Austria does that to a German guest, there is one Scandal... service is different.

Would not recommend. Area is really nice and it’s close to the tram, but the pension itself is no good. We arrived a bit before check-in and was told very rudely by a man with glasses that we could not leave our bags there, which is almost always possible. Most of the staff was quite rude and very hard to get in touch with. The wi-fi was very slow and the TV did not work. It was also poorly cleaned and we found spider web. The room itself was spacious but I think that much nicer hotels could be found at a similar price point. Another thing that was disappointing was that one of the beds that was advertised as a double bed was actually a pull-out couch, meaning it was much more uncomfortable to sleep on than a regular bed. The normal bed was however very comfortable. The pension does not provide any toiletries, which is quite cheap in my opinion. I would recommend finding another place to stay in prenzlauer Berg.

Nice little guesthouse, simple but cozy.Very friendly service and uncomplicated online booking and check-in process.Breakfast was the same every morning but sufficient.Price-performance is consistent here.The plus point is that you have a very good and fast connection to public transport.

This family guesthouse offered us everything we wanted. Close to the center but not too close, good connection to public transport, clean and functional rooms. The breakfast was manageable but met all our needs. We would definitely come again. 🙂👍

A small family business that receives my fullest support. Good price-performance ratio. Very clean and functional rooms! If you don't want a luxury hotel but want to experience Berlin in its purest form, this is the right place for you. The guesthouse has 16 rooms, which are housed in a typical old Berlin building. The rest of the house is occupied by apartments. You can't get more Berlin than that! 😊
