Directly below a large castle (ruins) and with a view of the Rhine and Goarshausen, which can be seen on the opposite bank and over which a castle towers, Loreley Youth Hostel is, in my opinion, one of the most beautifully located youth hostels.The staff was very accommodating and nice! Food was good.For hikers or people who just want to drive along the Rhine and visit castles, St. Goar is the perfect starting point in all directions, especially since the connection "over" to the Moselle is closest here. ;-)

Extremely pretty for a youth hostel. Location unique! Bad lighting in the room, lack of closet space.Staff were friendly throughout with one exception in the dining area.

Overall satisfied!Great modernized youth hostel below Rheinfels Castle. Rooms modern but very dark (black and shades of gray) bathroom with shower great...room clean as far as it goes. On one of the shelves there were opened eye drops from the previous tenant. I wonder how you could miss something like that?!?The access to the youth hostel is very narrow and there are not enough parking spaces directly at the youth hostel. So drag your luggage up the path from below.A very positive thing to mention is the food, which we found very good...it was always tasty...from soup to main course. Kudos to the young chef.The food situation is not ideal. The dining room is rather cramped and you are assigned a fixed seat, in our case with another family... which wasn't a bad thing, but you would like a little more privacy. The buffet is very narrow as a passageway and as a result there is a traffic jam at every meal and it is a bit chaotic.We didn't use the outdoor area. But since small children almost ran in front of our car on the first day, we have to realize that the play areas are right next to the adjacent parking lot and some of them are not fenced in. Very dangerous for children!!!The location is great and we experienced a lot. You can recommend the youth hostel!

Beautiful youth hostel with nicely designed rooms and clean bathrooms. The Are Essen can be expanded. The location is more than perfect for excursions but also for staying

Very nice, completely modernized youth hostel in a great location. Beautiful view of the Rhine, terrace with a view of the Rhine, very nice and helpful staff and good food. We had booked the barbecue evening, the food was plentiful (sausage, marinated chicken, pork steak, feta parcels, rolls and salads from the buffet per person) and very tasty. Afterwards there was a fire bowl with stick bread and marshmallows for the children. That was a thoroughly successful evening! Many thanks to the entire team, but especially to the chef!

Great location and very modern facilities. The food in particular tasted very good - there is actually a very committed and friendly chef who knows his craft. Also worthy of mention is the reception, which had the situation under control despite a complete system failure.

Brand new youth hostel in a great location. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are great and the view of the Rhine is magnificent. The food was very tasty, even if you shouldn't expect star cuisine. The exception: the carrot and chili soup, which was the culinary highlight of the trip for me.

I felt at home. The staff was super friendly and I was particularly impressed by the kitchen: I'm vegan and often it falls to the back when I'm eating and I have to make do with the minimum. Not here: every evening a special dish was prepared for me. And with a lot of love and you could tell. 😊

Great youth hostel! Very helpful staff (we were there way too early because the rain changed our plans) and were allowed to lock up our things and make ourselves comfortable in the foosball room or in the restaurant. The rooms are modern, clean and functionally furnished, but not run of the mill. We also really liked the design in the restaurant with lots of art. You can walk to the Rhine, the castle and the city center of St.Goar in less than 5 minutes...so a great location. The view over the Rhine from the terrace and about half of the tables in the restaurant is also great. We haven't heard anything from the train line.

I've been to youth hostels all over Germany and I know the customs.But I thought what happened to me here in the morning was cheeky.Apparently it was 1 in the morning! Forgot to clear away my cup, an employee came and looked for me in the dining room and shouted loudly in front of everyone that I should kindly clear away my cup next time, and I found it in the bottom drawer.There were no bedding or towels available when we arrived, the windows were full of cobwebs and spiders... it wasn't nice.But the positive thing to mention was the dinner, which was really delicious!

We spent one night in this very nice youth hostel for our hike on the Rheinsteig (St. Goarshausen).This youth hostel makes a very well-kept and modern impression.The rooms are modernly furnished and are completely sufficient for the hike.The meal in the evening consisted of two dishes and was very tasty and sufficient.The youth hostel is recommended for everyone.

Very modern youth hostel, in a beautiful, quiet location with a view of the Rhine.Good breakfast, which tastes particularly good on the terrace with a fantastic view.And as if all that wasn't good enough, the lady at the reception and the hostel mom went one better. Always helpful and kind and funny.A place to which you like to return.
