2 nights at Gut Steinbach were supposed to be my birthday surprise. My husband ordered the rooms, I completed the admission formalities the day before my birth date, stating the date of birth, and took over the room. No notice was taken of my "holiday"; it was only when I asked questions about the 4-course menu and wanted it to be coordinated with my holiday that the friendly and courteous service staff became lively and brought candles, pink ribbons, birthday cake, etc. That It was nice, but the communication between reception and service doesn't seem to work particularly well. With some chatter we were able to conjure up a vegan 4-course menu, kudos to the chef. What should be highlighted are the predominantly friendly and courteous people in the service area and the beautiful and tastefully renovated wellness area. Negatively, it must be mentioned that 30 euros per day are charged for a small, 5kg dog (which I have never experienced anywhere, in any hotel, no matter how good), which in my opinion borders on usury and shows that although dogs are allowed, but are not welcome. The crowning glory when paying the bill was the listed energy cost flat rate of 7 euros per day and room. I was surprised that a hotel that is committed to a higher standard is not stupid enough to charge extra for this item. In my opinion, you factor that into the price and it's good. When I asked what it was used for, the receptionist couldn't give me an answer. Nonetheless, it was a nice birthday surprise with brilliant weather, but we're unlikely to repeat it.

We were day spa guests in the complex, which is in a fantastic location, very well maintained and where you feel completely comfortable.The breakfast leaves nothing to be desired with good service, the wellness area is inviting and cozy.Complimentary water and tea included apples, dried fruit and peanuts.I am deducting points for the following reasons:1.Wellness and even just breakfast can only be booked online. This may be contemporary, but I personally find it cumbersome (especially with and despite a voucher), especially for older guests.2.Despite booking online with mandatory payment in advance, we were asked to pay when we handed in the locker key in the evening.3.I would have been happy to have a hairdryer in the cloakroom, which is standard in comparable establishments.4.Unusual that there are no long sauna towels, only normal length towels. So you always have to use 2 towels in the sauna if you want to lie there.This is also accompanied by greater consumption.5.In the Room of Silence the ventilation is so loud that you can only imagine the music playing. And for “silence” the ventilation is almost a little disturbing.These are small things that we noticed, but we will certainly and happily come back.

We were at Gut Steinbach from August 25th to September 1st, 2924. The hotel is beautifully located and the rooms and ambience are great. However, the organizational aspects sometimes leave something to be desired. For example, the bio sauna was down for at least 3 days. When we wanted to use it on the first day, it didn't work. The next day, on Monday, I informed the reception (which consisted entirely of young people) about this. They just said that they already knew about other guests and the problem was that they had to call an outside technician. would have to. However, this shouldn't be a problem for a hotel like this. When the sauna still wasn't working the next day, I happened to meet the gardener and asked him about the algae (another, unpleasant topic) in the pond. I mentioned the problem with the bio-sauna in passing. He then immediately called the building engineer, who was completely clueless because he hadn't been told yet. He promised to take care of it and the next day the bio sauna was working again. Both the gardener and the building technician solved the problem immediately. The reception was obviously overwhelmed.Another problem was the formation of algae in the pond, which could not be used, although the morning post detailed information about the use of the beautiful swimming pond. I also mentioned this to the gardener, he explained to me very politely and understandably what the problem was and, at my request, even removed at least half of the algae so that I could use the pond at least once. The next day everything was full of algae again. In my opinion, you cannot classify a pond as a swimming pond if it is full of algae. And since there is no outdoor pool available, that would be a reason for me personally not to book the hotel in summer.
