Very nice campsite with nice staff. Unfortunately, the sanitary facilities are not in good condition and were extremely dirty at the time we were there. Even after cleaning, only partially clean…

It's definitely a nice campsite to stay at, but I didn't think it was dog-friendly at all, as advertised on the website! You are put in the back corner of this huge campsite with no possibility of getting to the lake, you are not allowed to enter the main site with a dog, but you can still pay the full price + dog surcharge! I just felt rejected as a dog owner!

We and other guests were there to inquire about a permanent parking space. As I said, inquire. The older lady explained to the couple in front of us in a brisk tone that there were no free places and only in November.It was clear to us that we didn't want to go there.

Were here for the 5th time and it was nice like every time. Stood in the castle camp. There is room for improvement for the 5 star because you cannot reserve a plot but only the area and because you can only get by with 10m hose lengths on 4 of the 8 plots per roundabout (Burgencamp has 4 roundabouts). We were able to use this for supply and wastewater.We'll be back. 😉

We won an overnight stay at the caravan fair in Essen and added a second night to try it out.The “main square” is laid out quite nicely, the leisure area including the lake is “okay” so far.The area with the long-term campers directly on the lake is badly affected. This may be due to the time of year.We were in the so-called dog area, which we are extremely disappointed with!Locked away behind massive gates, narrow and difficult to navigate plots. The division is poorly done.The washhouse is in fairly good shape considering its age…. It could possibly be cleaned more often, but it could be that we were unlucky enough to always be there at the wrong time.The ladies at reception are very friendly and helpful.The restaurant is a typical campsite restaurant. You get full... 🫣

A nice campsite, but unfortunately we can only give it 3 stars. Because the cleanliness in the washrooms really leaves a lot to be desired. It doesn't help (I've observed it myself) if you rinse the entire room with a water hose and then acknowledge the cleaning in the list.My mother-in-law is disabled and had the key to the disabled toilet. She slipped once while showering and the mirror was full of drops of water.Lo and behold, even after staying there for 3 weeks, the water stains were still on the mirror.So cleaning is still a long time coming here too.

Updated:We are very lucky to be able to book the Viking barrels for the second year in a row. It's such a great place to sleep in, especially in the rain. Today we went to Moylandt Castle, which is just as walking distance as the nuclear power wonderland.A year later we are here again and it is just as great as last year, although now everything is greener and everything is somehow even more beautiful. And on Sunday we were lucky and there was a flea market in the multi-purpose hall. Here I found something for myself and my daughters. My wife has to be content with me.

Camping great, great location not far from the water. Water quality 1 with asterisk.Toilet is getting old.If you come with a dog you are very disadvantaged and are only allowed in a small part. The rest are not allowed.

Dogs are not allowed on the lake. If you own a dog you will be admitted to the south square because the main campsite is dog-free. Everything is very old-fashioned. Showers, toilets and so on. The plots can only be accessed using a key. It is not possible to get bread rolls with a dog. Activities in the main campsite with dogs and the restaurant are not possible

We have just returned from the weekend at the campsite. Since we were there with our dog, I can't rate the main campsite. Campers with dogs will be placed on the south site. The south square was very small, quiet and familiar. Since dogs are only allowed to go to the main campsite to a limited extent, we decided not to eat or drink there because there are posters prohibiting dogs everywhere. The south square was very green and clean, and there was a nice atmosphere with the tourist campers and the long-term campers. I give one star for that. The location is very nice if you want to take your dog for a walk in the area. That's why there's a second star. BUT there wasn't anything more positive. The sanitary building on the south square is outdated, partly dirty and unkempt. Since this ban on dogs is really limiting, you have no choice but to stay where you are, but we left zero euros in the beer garden and restaurant, apparently they don't care about sales either. There is no dog beach so we couldn't see the beach. Yes, it's all on the homepage, but since we paid dog fees, I just find it outrageous that we pay the same prices there as at the main campsite, which, according to reviews, is cleaner and better maintained. Therefore only 2 stars out of 5. Conclusion, we have been to many other campsites that are really nicer, cleaner and more dog-friendly. We will no longer travel to this place.

After the first inspection at the entrance.Super nice.Then we had to go to the south square because we have dogs. There you feel excluded and disadvantaged.Lockable gates to the swimming lake with a sign prohibiting dogs. There is no possibility of going swimming with the dog anywhere else.The Pacelle is neglected. There is no gardener here who will take care of the disposal and cutting of the branches.Sanitary areas are outdated but functional and clean.Since dogs are very important to us and we don't leave them in the motorhome, we won't be coming back.Petra

Beautiful lake right at the campsite. Unfortunately, the sanitary facilities are only cleaned once a day. Unfortunately this is not enough in the high season.
