We were guests at the hay camp for an overnight stay with our F youth soccer team. Sleeping in the hay, the campfire and the lots of space on the farm were great for the kids. The hosts are extremely friendly and accommodating. We didn't miss anything. Another highlight was playing farmer’s golf together. The breakfast was simple, but completely sufficient for our purposes. Particularly worthy of mention are the delicious fresh rolls and the farm's own eggs. We can recommend the Moerenhof for team building measures with sports teams or for school classes without reservation. If you stay for several days, there may be a shortage of showers, as there is only one shower in the hay storage. But that is nothing that would in any way diminish our very positive overall impression. Many thanks to all the Moerenhof employees and the host Sonja for the great time with you.Your F1 from GSV Moers

Great weekend in the (replacement) hay storage. There was a lot going on on the farm as it was a father-child weekend. We were invited to the campfire and were allowed to take part in baking bread on sticks. Everyone present was very friendly and our children had a lot of fun. We will be back!

Unfortunately not recommended overall. We came as a class, but it wasn't a school event, but a private event. First of all, for your information: most of the children and adults spent the night in the hay camp. Some adults and children were accommodated in a holiday apartment or in a trailer for the same low price as the overnight stay in the hay camp.Per:- rural location- Idea to sleep in hay camps, nice for children- Playing opportunities (e.g. soccer field, small playground)- Pick your own cherry trees- Barbecue, campfireCons:- Direct location on a busy country road (no lockable gate facing the street)- Parking on a meadow behind the farm, i.e. all cars had to drive across the farm (children can only run around freely under supervision)- Sanitary facilities for hay storage guests: three toilets, not separated by gender; Not enough and unhygienic, especially for many people (several groups, day guests, etc.).- few animals: geese, chickens (visible to us; horses in a distant paddock)- Communication (main point of criticism): Due to the "special price" for the use of the holiday apartment (offer made without an explicit request for a discount), the guests of the holiday apartment were not allowed into the apartment until the evening; Only the guest couple, who were already known to the farmer's wife from previous visits, received keys and access to their trailer in the early afternoon; The guests of the holiday apartment received no key, no blankets or pillows (they were put away) and were only allowed into the apartment after 7 p.m. Instead of communicating these conditions openly beforehand, several inquiries about the possibility of moving into the apartment were rudely and unkindly rejected. Completely unnecessary, unprofessional approach that caused astonishment, incomprehension and displeasure.- Organization: due to two large groups on the weekend, everything seemed a bit chaotic; The campfire in the evening was also occupied twice, and this led to dissatisfaction- other contact/hospitality: on the morning of departure, intrusive “interfering” in the hay storage while packing; A bowl was lost by the farmer's wife (reappeared when asked)CONCLUSION:The children had fun spending the night in the hay, but the cons clearly outweighed the negatives; therefore clearly NOT a recommendation. There are far nicer, better equipped, better organized farms in rural areas that treat guests in a more hospitable and professional manner.

We can highly recommend the Heuhotel Moerenhof. We stayed in one of the holiday apartments. The bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen are beautifully furnished. We slept peacefully and well. There is everything you need. The owner was very friendly. If we are able to go nearby again, we would be happy to stay here again.

A dream in the country :-) The five of us spent the night in the small hay camp, had breakfast and played farmer's golf. We couldn't have imagined it better. We will definitely come back! Then maybe to spend the night in one of the cute, cozy sleeping cars.

A dear family business, I was there as a sister and can't say anything about the rooms and meals due to lack of knowledge, but everyone on the farm is really nice ❤️
