I use it about 3 to 4 times a year to work with school classes, doing activities, and the youth hostel in Menzenchwand is a century-old building that is very well maintained and is very well located, the people who work there are very friendly and the service is very good... I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to spend a few days in nature and go on walks.

One of the most beautiful youth hostels we have visited to date (of about 6 across Germany).Very friendly staff; child friendly, nice rooms, very clean.All of this in a great Black Forest-typical house, where the clouds are low in the valley in the morning.The town of “Sankt Blasien” is incredibly beautiful (see picture); with the best kebab I've eaten in a long time.

Idyllic location. The rooms are very classic in a farmhouse that is over 300 years old. The food is hearty, tasty and rich. The vegan Bolognese was great❤️. Highlight: you can take an introductory course in paragliding in the beautiful backdrop of the High Black Forest.

As a rustic Black Forest house, the youth hostel is totally cool and, in my opinion, unique. I have never experienced a youth hostel in this style. The dining room is beautifully decorated with wooden furniture, ceilings, floors and walls. It's exciting to find your way around the house. Several corridors, stairs and paths lead through the house. There was a fire door for safety.The breakfast and dinner were tasty and offered many options. Tea, juice, water, coffee, hot and cold cocoa are offered as drinks in the morning. In the evening there is warm tea and water. Dinner offers a delicious salad buffet with the main course. The town of Menzenschwand is beautifully situated surrounded by nature, mountains and landscape. There are many options for hiking. The Menzenschwander waterfall is an experience. The short loop can also be completed by infrequent hikers (adventurous with the incline and wooden stairs). The place offers a thermal bath, a deer enclosure, ski jumps, mini golf, and an architecturally interesting Catholic church. It was very nice there. The youth hostel is clean and the employees are friendly. Many families with children were also guests at the youth hostel when we were there. The feeling was that it was a good community and a good atmosphere. The room was furnished in a classic youth hostel style with a bunk bed and sink. The bathroom with toilet and shower for the community was clean and well maintained. The women's bathroom on the 1st floor is a special experience with the stairs to the toilet 🙂.

Tip top accommodation at a fair price in a beautiful valley in the Black Forest. The host was able to give great tips, whether hiking, biking or skiing. Gladly again.

A great hostel. Very friendly and courteous staff. Totally delicious food. Always clean and the room size was really good for us. 7 people (mom, dad and 4 children and a baby).There was a lot to do and see in the area. There were also good connections for bus and train.It was a nice vacation and we will come back ❤️❤️

We were returning from our vacation and were looking for accommodation for 1 night at short notice. Communication with Mr. Mayer took place via email. He responded quickly and very friendly. He even stored our “souvenirs” in a cool place overnight. Thank you again for that!! Breakfast was very tasty, we can't judge the other dishes. Toilet and bathroom in the hallway, very clean. Rooms are very noisy, but this is due to the age of the house, which has a very special character.

Beautiful JuHe in a carefully renovated and expanded ancient Black Forest farm.THE highlight in Menzenschwand. Very friendly and competent staff with the hostel "parents"....Dependency in the equally picturesque old school building. There are family rooms with a bathroom/toilet inside.

Very nice youth hostel with two houses, the main house and the side house in the old school. Both are about 50m apart. We had half board and the food was very tasty. The hostel keepers were very nice and accommodating. Gladly again!

Very nice and well-maintained hostel in a really rustic old building. Very pretty.The rooms are simple but comfortable in the "classic DJH style" and are more than sufficient for a few nights, considering the price.The sanitary facilities are also very clean.Absolutely recommended, I would go there again in the future.
