First of all: Of course you can't expect hotel standards from a youth hostel, that's clear. But this accommodation really exceeded expectations by far.We were there with a sports club (swimming) and the swimming pool can be reached after a short walk, about 10-15 minutes. Now to the hostel: The rooms are not bad but not good either, everything is absolutely not modern. Now to the worst: The staff is unhelpful and generally unfriendly and everyone seems like they don't want to do their job, which is reflected in both the service and the food:- Breakfast: actually classic baked rolls, but here they managed to ruin them completely; Even with 2 times butter, 4 slices of cheese, 2 slices of sausage it was still inedibly dry.- Lunch: strange dishes, pasta overcooked, most of it inedible, absolutely no nutritional value, disgusting consistency. If something was empty it wasn't refilled and if you dared to ask if there was anything, you were scolded.- Dinner: only leftovers from lunch or the previous days, so not tasty either, if you came after the other clubs then you were just unlucky and didn't get anything warm. Alternative was very dry, old and inedible bread which was still dry with 3 pieces of butter and spread. So you couldn't get enough here either.By the way, very spicy food with chilli is total nonsense for a youth hostel with 90% children and if there are eggs and they are so bad that you vomit when you eat them and have nausea and stomach aches the whole next day, it's just disgusting and you would rather starve. The good thing about moving in was the proximity to the supermarket, so you could at least buy something to eat.So: please don't go here under any circumstances, please don't do this to yourself, your club, your class or your children!

The location of the youth hostel is great. Rooms, beds and bathrooms great. Unfortunately the price of over 40 euros per person for one night was a bit too expensive for us. The breakfast was great

I was there with my year group and half of the people were picked up after the first week. The food was bad; the meat was still bloody, the rice was cold, and the dessert was disgusting. When people prepare food, they shouldn't buy it in the 'good and cheap' supermarket, but in a Lidl or similar.Dear teachers and parents, do not do this to your children. After dinner, many people, including me, had to struggle with stomach problems all evening long. The local attractions are also disappointing. A foosball table and a television from 1901 are hardly contemporary. There isn't even a soccer goal or a soccer field nearby if you want to have fun with friends. The crew on site is unfriendly and difficult to talk to. When I asked for a fork, the waitress told me: ‘Find it yourself’. Dear people, it would be better to sleep under a bridge than to go to this hostel. If possible I would give zero or even minus stars, but unfortunately you can only give one.The hostel location is difficult to find, even on Google Maps. There are better youth hostels in Northeim. I hope that you never have to go through a similar experience as me and my year.

This youth hostel is a typical youth hostel. The rooms were clean, the staff were always friendly, and the surroundings were lovely. The bed linen was clean, the sanitary facilities were what I expect in a youth hostel. It's just not a five star hotel. Price performance is absolutely right. There are several large terraces. The only drawback was that a large crowd of children were very loud until very late at night, which their carers were not interested in. We were met with pure arrogance. Everything was taken over by them and you literally had to beg for a place to sit. These young people and children came from Wuppertal and announced it loudly. They welcomed us with a water shower, which isn't actually a bad thing, but was completely out of place. Sayings that shouldn't be in the vocabulary of a 12 year old flew through the hallways all evening, doors slammed and respectful behavior looks different.I would definitely have liked the management to intervene here.

So all in all, it's a good place to go if you're looking for a cheap and centrally located place to stay overnight. You can't really say anything about the accommodation costs. The rooms were totally fine, even if the handicapped accessible room is very poorly located. It is spacious and right next to it is a bathroom and a terrace. However, it can only be reached with an elevator, which can only be controlled together with a second person (the person must go downstairs and operate the elevator with a key or vice versa). However, only the staff has this key. The service is very taciturn and not often seen except at meal times. The food was ok, nothing special. However, it will no longer be refilled if warm or special meals are empty (e.g. tomato mozzarella). The meals seem very counted. We arrived towards the end of the meal time and could only eat one warm dish, which was the food from the previous day mixed together. The newly cooked dish was out. Water is not available outside of meals. The group rooms are great and are separate from the rooms, so it could get a bit louder and it didn't bother anyone. There are refrigerators on every hallway. There are sufficient parking spaces in the surrounding area.

Unfortunately, this room did not have its own bathroom. The toilets were individual and there were lockable shower cubicles. The service was good and so was the food. The staff was very nice and helpful. The location within the city was great. You could walk straight into town and also shop. There are several options on the other side of the street that are open for quite a long time.
