I (36) visited Salvey Garten alone with my van for a few days and will definitely come back! Here are my top 7 why a visit is worth it:1) Owner: In 2022, this ancient campsite got a young couple as its new owner. Anna and Niels are super warm, give the place a real feeling of home and are often there in the evenings with a beer around the campfire.2) Peace: Rarely have we experienced such a quiet campsite. If you really want to relax, this is the right place for you! Children are also there, but they are older ones.3) No mosquitoes: While elsewhere you are currently being eaten, here it is virtually a mosquito-free zone. Whether it's because of the stream, I have no idea - but it's just wonderful :-)4) Cool nights: The special location between two forests next to a flowing stream cools down the nights in Salvey amazingly, making it super pleasant to sleep in!5) The guests: In Salvey you meet open and particularly warm fellow campers for whom luxury is less important than sharing a beer at the occasional campfire in front of the main building.6) Children's program: Salvey is perfect for real nature lovers and Anna also likes to go on an exploration tour with interested children.7) Also available: Home-baked rolls, handmade flower wreaths, beautiful rarities, an old table tennis table, a really good brewery in Eslohe (7km), great cycle paths on the old railway track (hardly any incline), of course hiking trails and a cozy lounge Fireplace and well-stocked fridge :-)Who Salvey Garten is NOT for:1) Parents with (small) children who need a large play paradise to entertain them2) Dog owner whose beloved pet is unable to keep his mouth shut at night3) People who need high-tech shower facilities, swimming pools, saunas or on-site restaurants to be happy

Our first camping experience. Owners very friendly and helpful, nice place (7) literally on a stream (with trout in it). Booked a few extra days. Very beautiful surroundings, well walked and paved. Oh yes, warm rolls and croissants in the morning, delicious.

Great campsite to relax and unwind. Thanks to a small stream that keeps you cool on hot days and the adjacent forest with many beautiful hiking routes, the place offers a wonderful, natural atmosphere. At night you can watch the stars very well when the sky is clear. The operators of the course, Niels and Anne, are very friendly and try to keep the course well maintained. The washrooms are currently being renovated but are very clean. The nearby town of Eslohe (approx. 10 minutes by car) offers shopping for your daily needs. Bread rolls can also be ordered for the morning at the square's kiosk. Unfortunately, cell phone reception is only available to a limited extent, but the D1 network has a good network, e.g. no reception with O2.A visit to relax here is definitely worth it! Highly recommended.

It's only a 3-star campsite, but the operators definitely deserve 6 stars! With a lot of commitment and a “hands-on-deck mentality”, Anne & Nils make people’s stay as pleasant as possible. If you don't need luxury and just want to unwind in a beautiful area in the middle of nowhere, this is the place for you. You should bring your own food or you have to drive a few km at lunchtime or in the evening to get something to eat there. In the morning there are fresh rolls and croissants (upon registration) and drinks are also available at the kiosk/lounge. We were there on our motorbikes in the rain and were happy that we were allowed to park the mopeds in the barn at night. Cool and relaxed atmosphere - recommended!

Beautiful small campsite by a stream. Booked four days, stayed two weeks!! Very hospitable, open and busy Niels and Anne who work hard to please the people and nature at the campsite. A lot of attention to flowering. Super clean sanitary facilities and they also have time to bake really warm sandwiches for you in the morning. Had a great time.

Super nice small (organic) campsite!Clean, largely renovated, sanitary facilities, spacious pitches, friendly owners, sandwiches and campfire.Friendly owners who welcome you, show you your spot (and if you are very lucky even let you choose it) and help where necessary.We were missing a pole from the awning and fortunately Niels and Anne had the solution.Spacious pitches with a large area on the water.Free, not yet infested with tourists, environment for beautiful walks in the area.Every morning there is a bread service and in the evening a campfire where everyone can join. The sanitary facilities are clean and sufficient, I have never had to wait. And, last but not least, pet friendly 🖤We will definitely come back!

The campsite is in the valley, the sun no longer comes to the site in the afternoon.It gets cold quickly and everything gets damp.No shop is within walking distance.The pitches are not level and you have to put a lot of support in order to be able to stand upright.The small stream and the natural design of the place are beautiful.The operators are currently renovating and are obviously very motivated.

A lovely little campsite. One of the most beautiful we have visited so far. This friendly campsite with new owners Niels and Anne is located in a beautiful part of the Sauerland.After a nice welcome, we were shown our very spacious spot on the water.Peace and nature are the words that come to mind when describing this campsite.Dog friendly, even a small surprise on arrival which was much appreciated by Mack and Trees.From the campsite you can take nice walks in the forest on three sides.Sanitary facilities are clean and being renovated.Showering with coins, 6 minutes is more than enough time.We enjoyed the time we were there and will definitely come back.

A beautiful campsite in the middle of nature, where you can enjoy lovely walks. Good sanitary facilities, good service, sandwich service. Niels and Anne have made it a great place. We will definitely come back.

We booked online in advance. We wanted to be right next to the stream. The description of the pitches on the website is very good.The reservation went very well and easily. Even though we were there in May, we were able to choose from three places. The welcome was very warm.Anna and Niels took over the place from an older couple and are now trying to gradually modernize it without destroying any of the atmosphere and quaintness.The sanitary facilities are partly renovated and partly very old. But always clean and tidy. You can see the two of them constantly cleaning and repairing the place.The pitches are very nicely located. All by a small, crystal-clear stream that runs through the entire campsite. The parking spaces are very close to each other.However, the location is very good. Right next to the forest and secluded. The road that runs directly above the stream has little traffic and is hardly a nuisance.Being woken up by the stream in the morning always reminds you to handle the water carefully, which is what you are reminded of here.The registration at the front and the barn are almost always open and Niels and Anna are always available.In the barn there is a beautiful lounge area with a rustic seating area and numerous opportunities for leisure activities.Here you can also order rolls every day, which will be waiting at the registration desk smelling fresh the next morning.Overall, the two of them are very straightforward and try to find a solution to every problem.We would recommend this place to those seeking peace and quiet and nature lovers. Just a quick review if you're still hesitating: come!!Super quiet, spotless sanitary facilities, good sandwiches, very nice ownersI will write in more detail when I get home.I will make up for that here.We arrived with a trailer tent and extended our stay twice. What a great place, and what great owners! Easy to walk and cycle straight from the campsite (battery or strong calves recommended!) In the evening, deer and a fox were spotted 2 minutes from the campsite. The few seasonal pitches are populated by friendly people, and as the website suggests, there is a lot of attention for nature, beautiful plants, etc. We don't know yet where we will go this year, but they have a good chance :-)Oh yes: the Mapy app is great, almost all walks are indicated on it, and orientation is perfect. I will try to add a walk again later, my previous review addition was ruined when I wanted to add a walk...
