I feel the need to say a few words of thanks for the wonderful vacation at the beginning of this month. And as always, I lived in the wonderful Sonnenheim house with the lovely Röcke family. Simply a holiday to feel good - the peace and quiet, the wonderful view, the complete equipment of the beautifully furnished holiday apartments. After all, I was lucky enough to live in two different ones during my multiple visits - one with a balcony and the other with a large terrace. I would also like to mention the nice contact, especially with Ms. Röcke, who somehow had an answer to every one of my questions.Finally, all I can do is wish the Röcke couple good health and continued enthusiasm for the benefit of their guests - we'll definitely see each other again in 2025.Klaus-Günter Schich from Bielefeld

Very cozy holiday apartment with everything you need for a pleasant holiday. We felt very comfortable with the Röcke family.We hardly needed our car. The beautiful hiking area is easy to access on foot.We only missed a small supermarket in Rathen. The village shop wasn't very productive.

Spent 10 days here in April. Were very satisfied. Booking went quickly and easily, and contact with the landlady was super nice right from the start. We felt completely comfortable in the beautiful, large holiday apartment with a balcony. Fantastic view of the mountains and the Elbe.

A beautiful apartment in a beautiful house in a beautiful location. Yes, we can't describe it any other way. We were guests here from June 4th to 11th, 2023 and were given a very friendly welcome by Ms. and Mr. Röcke. The view of the Elbe during breakfast, the view from the two balconies towards Lilienstein and the town of Wehlen and, above all, the peace and quiet - simply fantastic. You can leave the car behind, there is a lot to hike. And if you want to go a little further away, no problem with the S-Bahn or boat. The weather was great too. We would like to take this opportunity to once again thank Mrs. and Mr. Röcke for their hospitality and look forward to seeing you again in 2024. Haus Sonnenheim is located directly on the Elbe at the foot of the Bastei. It doesn't get any better! That alone deserves full marks. Try it out! For a short vacation of 3 nights or longer - the health resort of Rathen and the location of the guesthouse offer everything you need to recharge empty batteries: Saxon warmth, humor, peace and tranquility. I've been going to beautiful Rathen and the Sonnenheim guesthouse for almost twenty years. It's like I'm coming home. I feel homesick sometimes. The negative writers probably forget the price-performance ratio.

The accommodation was lovingly furnished. The breakfast was super delicious 😋 and plentiful. The view of the Elbe, the Bastei and towards Wehlen was fantastic. In the late evening hours we had a beautiful view. We can't complain, Ms. Röcke is a very nice and lovely landlady. We will come back. Keep it up 😘🤗🌞

Absolutely outrageous communication from the landlady, Ms. Thea Röcke! Everything started well and friendly, we agreed on the rental period and price and received a booking confirmation from her by post. When we then asked a few questions about our future stay, which mainly related to the journey (ferry translation), tourist tax, etc., we suddenly received a completely unfriendly email one evening, including a cancellation of the rental and a request to do so We had to tear up the booking confirmation, which really shocked us. After all, we had already made all the bookings for this apartment - arrival/departure, rental car, hotel for a temporary stay, etc. Ms. Röcke's impulsive, irrational reaction was justified by the fact that we apparently asked too many questions and the differences "Wessis" and "Ossis" are still so serious in people's minds that it is difficult to come to a common denominator?!? For our part, we can't confirm that, but it doesn't make sense to us why that should be the reason for a sudden unilateral booking cancellation. We suspect that Ms. Röcke had a higher bid and wanted to get rid of us - if there really was a hatred/dislike on her part. If there were "Wessis", she would have had to determine from our first inquiry that we were from West Germany based on the address we provided - so that's illogical. Perhaps she was also "unsettled" by the presentation of a severely disabled person's card, which we had to present to her in order to calculate the tourist tax - we simply cannot understand it and will probably never find out the real reasons. It's sad anyway...She definitely ruined our summer vacation - we canceled everything else afterwards. We refrained from issuing a legal "reminder" to Ms. Röcke in order not to have to worry about this incident any further. We very much hope that this is and remains an isolated case and that others are spared such an experience...
