We have eaten here several times now and also as part of two wedding dinners. It has always been a great experience for everyone. The relaxed atmosphere, the beautiful ambience, the special delicacies that are brought to the table make everyone's heart beat faster. At both weddings, guests kept telling you that there was something so extraordinary here... And that remains the case for us every time we visit.

Unfortunately mixed feelings after a “getaway for one night”The rooms are very small, the air is stagnant and it gets extremely warm and stuffy. The person sleeping at the window has to climb over the other person to get out of bed.For us (and also for other guests) it was one of the most expensive and least relaxing nights. Unfortunately, the avant-garde architectural farm concept is of little consolation. The team and the food are again very good. Very high quality products, prepared over an open fire with finesse in the details. I can therefore only recommend a visit for food. It's a shame, we had imagined something different overall.

Overall we had a nice stay, but we were hoping for more. The room with its own bathroom was very nicely furnished and cozy, but not really suitable for sleeping at night in the summer temperatures. The food was delicious, the wine was good.Unfortunately, we didn't get much of a “family atmosphere” from the hosts, as some people write here. At these prices you can expect at least a brief inquiry at checkout about how we liked it, or a simple “have a good trip home”. It's a shame, you could get more out of this.

Beautiful area and hotel. Great food. The rooms, however, are like a sauna from hell: dark, humid, extremely hot, and rather stinky. Down blankets and 32 degrees? Works like a charm! Definitely not made for the summer months. The garden, food, and common areas are fantastic; service is very friendly but a bit pushy, they seem keen on selling as much wine as possible (which is mediocre and overpriced).

We had a lovely time at the Michelberger Farm. The public areas are generously designed - outside with chic Fermob Luxembourg furniture. Dinner, served at a long table, was delicious. Wine prices - quite high compared to other upscale gastro spots in the region (where good wines start from 26 EUR) with prices starting at 36 EUR per bottle. The breakfast was also well stocked, with some of the spreads and dishes you would have liked to see a label so you could know in detail what delicacies were being served - by the service staff, who were always in a good mood. I had reserved a large room well in advance. Because of a wedding we were rebooked, with a different date and a smaller room. Unfortunately, I wasn't aware that this only has a shared bathroom. And I think that's quite steep given the price level of the farm. Especially since we didn't actually have a real room, but rather a bunk. So it's understandable that many clever visitors to the famous dinner don't spend the night at the Michelberger, but - as our table neighbor Tobias said to us with a wink: "Why should I spend the night here when I have a much larger bedroom at home?" The architect of the ensemble, Sigurd Larsen, who is very familiar with the upscale hotel industry for demanding hide-away visitors from metropolitan regions, should have spoken out. And there should be ensuite bathrooms in ALL rooms. Just like comparable properties like the St. Oberholz Retreat have (it even has a pleasantly heated pool). But everything is new and very well maintained in the Michelberger Farm - no comparison to another resort in the region - the now badly shabby and completely overpriced Bleiche Resort & Spa.

Unfortunately the rooms were absolutely not suitable for warmer weather. You could only open a small window by tilting it. There was no ventilation or air conditioning and we were forced to sleep with the door open to the common hallway to get some air. Unfortunately, the second large window could not be opened despite requests. The rooms had a small fan, but it was loud and didn't do much good. We had a very restless night and I wouldn't recommend the rooms to anyone. However, the food and service were excellent and were in stark contrast to the sleeping experience. All dishes were prepared to a high quality and there was always enough of everything. The location is also well connected to the public transport network.
