In order to hike in Saxon Switzerland, we stayed with the lovely and kind Mrs. Petters for 2 nights. A caring hostess, I can't say it any other way. It's great that people like that still exist.It was for our needs; flawless👍. We were welcomed/treated in a friendly and nice manner, special requests were fulfilled and even an uncomplicated rescheduling of the booking was allowed.The room/bathroom was clean and well maintained.And by breakfast you were full.

Although the rooms are nicely furnished and the location is great, I didn't really enjoy my one night in the guesthouse. I had previously announced that I was vegan, but I was greeted there as “the person who doesn’t eat anything”. I was told I might have to bring my own for breakfast. In my opinion, this way of dealing with guests is unacceptable. The breakfast was correspondingly poor… there were rolls (not fresh), jam, fruit and vegetables, and cold cuts/cheese for omnivores.All in all it was enough for one night, but I wouldn't recommend this guesthouse.

I have now been to this guesthouse for the second time and have been more than satisfied. Beautiful rooms, delicious breakfast and small talk is always possible. More than recommended 😊👍👍👍

We came to Schmilka for 8 days to do a couple of excursions in Saxon Switzerland.We were a bit worried that it would be noisy near the house, as the guesthouse is located directly on the B172 federal highway. But none of that! Beautiful rooms with windows facing the B172 allow nothing from outside. In addition, you will only stay overnight in the room and spend the day in beautiful Saxon Switzerland.From the room we had a great view of the Elbe and the train tracks behind it. And again: no noise from the train or the ferry that takes people to the train station. You could feel yourself having the model railway in front of your eyes. It looked like H0 or PIKO... -:)And to the details. Our room had four windows, including one in the bathroom. The room was large, the double bed was very comfortable. There is also an additional bed, a table, three chairs and a large closet. All furnished with great taste. There is also a large bathroom with a very large shower.I can say with an open heart: you can really fall in love with this room - it was so comfortable, so cozy...The landlady - Ms. Petra - a very friendly, helpful woman. You could make a wish and it would be done. Just wonderful.You also get breakfast for the room price. Since the guesthouse is very small (it only has three rooms), it is not worth preparing a buffet. In return you get an extensive, served breakfast - with always fresh, crispy rolls and everything that goes on them - cheese, sausage, vegetables and fruit, fresh coffee (or tea), juice, etc. etc.But the most important thing is that the guesthouse is located directly on the main path into the mountains of Saxon Switzerland - a few hundred meters and you can reach the paths to the Schrammsteine, the large or small Winterberg, to the Affensteine ​​and many other attractions in Saxon Switzerland. My opinion: Localization 1A.But before you reach these paths, you pass a bakery and organic brewery where you can buy and eat fresh bread and very tasty beer (as Pilsner, Amber or Bock beer) every day... Very tasty.It is also only 2.5 km to the Edmundsklamm in Hrensko in Bohemian Switzerland and a little further to the world-famous Prebischtor.One more thing: the guesthouse has a beautiful terrace on the 2nd floor of the house, between the house and the rocks, where you can hear all kinds of birds chirping in spring. A wonderful experience.What else should I say at the end?I can only recommend Pension Grenzeck to everyone who wants to spend a wonderful and relaxing holiday in Saxon Switzerland. It's worth it, believe me.

I was here to work but the staff is courteous and friendly to people on the phone to address their concerns. If I want to spend the night here I will feel very well looked after.
