Our children were there for their holiday camp and are more than thrilled! Nice people and a great daily program were well organized. Breakfast and lunch are also good! At least I haven't heard anything negative about either of us... (I'm a bit surprised).A carving knife including a leather sheath was made under instructions.We'll be there again next holiday. 😉

The entire staff at the youth center is very helpful, flexible and friendly when dealing with children and young people. Both the class and the adults were particularly impressed by the breakfast buffet and the hot dinner. Extra requests were taken into account. Good local tips for things to do were helpful! We would book again at any time!

We went on a school trip to the youth center at Rursee in July 2024. We (teachers and students) were completely satisfied with the accommodation. These points particularly impressed us:1. From the management to the kitchen, all the employees were extremely friendly and helpful, something we have never experienced before! This of course makes the stay very pleasant right from the start.2. All rooms were extremely clean.3. The food tasted really good. There is also a lot of emphasis on organic products from the region and sustainability.4. The surroundings are incredibly beautiful!5. The experiential education program had great added value and will certainly remain in our students' memories for a long time.

We have already been guests at the youth center several times with around 120 large and small participants for a children's adventure weekend. With almost 50 fathers and around 70 children, we always had a great time here. The coordination in advance always ran smoothly and very reliably. As the person responsible for planning our weekend, I am very grateful for the good preparation by the management, the courtesy, the flexibility and the professional organization on site.The proximity to the lake and the “Wilder Kermeter” nature exploration trail, the location next to the forest, the Schmidt Wildlife Park in the immediate vicinity – all of this makes this place the ideal starting point for excursions. We'd love to come back and I've already started booking for our next children's adventure weekend here.

Great for groups. Well-kept house with good kitchen. The coffee could be a bit stronger.A great gimmick in advance is the virtual tour. Great with VR glasses. Check everything out beforehand.Prices moderate.Only the walk with luggage from the parking lot to the house is difficult.We had a great weekend with a campfire and bread sticks.Absolutely to suggest.WiFi is available. Mobile reception poor.Addendum: The staff (reception and kitchen) were super nice, helpful and uncomplicated.

The youth hostel/educational center is located in a rural setting in beautiful nature directly on Lake Rursee. Getting there from the south is a bit of a challenge due to the winding country road, but it's easy to reach from the north by bus. In addition to very (really very very tasty food, almost like in a restaurant) delicious food, the staff is very friendly and helpful.The only thing to complain about was the coordination between the staff, as we were only able to go into our group rooms after 12 p.m. because they were still being cleaned. We spontaneously wanted to arrive a day earlier. That worked great too. We were given a key and there was also a kitchen where we could warm up something to eat. There are also opportunities for leisure activities, such as volleyball courts, soccer goals...The demands that most people have and the evaluations associated with them may need to be reconsidered. Because these requirements are simply not adapted to the standard for youth hostels. In my opinion, you shouldn't expect a star hotel for less than 20 euros per day. So I don't understand the negative reviews at all. The house is (almost) great!

The Nikolaus Rursee youth center is great!It is in a beautiful rural location and offers plenty of opportunities to hold school trips there.There are 2 nice playgrounds and the rooms are in good condition. The work rooms can also be used for group work!The service of the house is great! The employees are very friendly, helpful and respond to requests flexibly and spontaneously! This is really not a given. When I receive inquiries, I never have the feeling that my questions are annoying.There is a wide selection of food to choose from and the people in the kitchen are great at catering to a wide range of eating habits, allergies and intolerances, so there is always something for everyone!We will definitely go to the youth center in the Eifel again!! and can only warmly recommend it!

Okay, let me write now.I was here on a school trip with my friends and my class and what can I say, it was absolutely bad.We were in a 6-person room or roomNo. 9. The first thing I noticed is that the bunk beds were piled together.Unfortunately there is no service here yet.That's why I entered 0 stars for Service (undefined). The rooms were GODDAMNLY bad because, as I mentioned, the bunk beds were lumped together. In addition, the beds almost collapsed and some boards were not compacted with the bed. The location was ok, the view was nice, but the ONLY thing that made me a tiny bit happy was that they AT LEAST had sockets where you could charge your devices. In addition, there is unfortunately far too little catering here. There are no drinks or snack machines. That was all I had to say. Overall, the youth hostel was so bad that I still have this to say:“Renovate buildings, repair streets, beat employees because the youth hostel is bad.”

We stayed here for 5 days with a 5th grade class - everyone really enjoyed it! The staff was friendly and helpful and responded flexibly to our requests. The food was great and we liked the fact that we had the whole house to ourselves with the house next door. Super quiet location, right on the edge of the forest and with a view of Lake Rursee, lots of space to play and run around, very nice.

We were in Nideggen with our students. And despite a somewhat strenuous group, the welcome was warm, the food was great and the accommodation was just right for the kids. Lots of nature and enough space to have fun even when it rains! We'd love to come back!

The St. Nikolaus youth center in Schmidt is run by a very committed director. The team consists of friendly and helpful employees.The location is very close to Lake Rursee and is ideally located.In addition to a well-equipped self-catering house, there is a small but nice youth hostel.
