Unfortunately our stay was very disappointing. We had the impression that we were second-class guests because we had booked the hotel using vouchers from Jochen Schweizer. We were "moved out" to the guest house...no problem...actually...except that the apartment was freezing cold and unfortunately didn't get warm even after consulting with the owner of the hotel. Supposedly the heating was fine...except that the radiators were cold and stayed cold. When we asked, we were told that we could leave. Very nice.....but we actually looked for another hotel and left the Waldschlösschen....so our short vacation could begin.Mr. Waidner was very nice, polite and tried very hard.His partner, on the other hand, is very unfriendly, dismissive, presumptuous, money-hungry and in no way suitable as a hotel owner.He first told us what we had to pay before we could even fill out our registration.My husband and I have traveled a lot, but we have never come across something like this. Simply outrageous...we're actually polite people, but this morning we really lost our temper. The fact that we weren't thrown out was everything...that kind of behavior was totally guest friendly.We will definitely not be coming back and there is no reason to recommend it.What we will definitely do is let the Jochen Schweizer company know so that other guests who have received a short vacation or something similar from Jochen Schweizer as a gift do not have to have the same experience.

I have been coming to the Hotel Waldschloesschen for 50 years.My grandmother was a regular there.I always like to go back there.Very dear hosts.The rooms are nice and the food is good. The location is great.We can only recommend it.

This pretty hotel is a journey back in time... if you get involved, you can love and enjoy authentic service, delicious dinners (I recommend the trout) and the cleanest rooms. Certainly getting old, but well maintained and you feel somehow at home.

Very quiet location. Nice view from the balcony there.Breakfast was also very tasty and rich.Dinner was also very good and tasty.Price-performance is very good.I can only highly recommend eating something there.

The food was very tasty. Great value for money.Restaurant, spacious, cozy, clean, with a large terrace.Personal and very friendly service, also from the owner.Menu varied, something for every taste. Also good food options for children.Drinks also large selection and delicious desserts, such as ice cream, cake, fruit salad, etc. etc. etc.Cake and coffee/tea in the afternoon, warm food from 5:30 p.m.Great excursion destination / hike with a stop.We recommend. 😃👍

We stayed in the cozy forest castle for 3 days at the end of May 2024 in a very nice apartment. Breakfast and dinner from a large menu with free choice were very good and plentiful. The location of the house is very nice and quiet.

I had an overnight stay + breakfast... Reception and staff were very friendly... Rooms were absolutely clean... I slept with a sleeping pad because there was little darkening... The breakfast buffet was extensive and everything was there... I felt comfortable... Thank you very much for that

I have been here for the second time and will come again. Price-performance ratio is simply great.The staff are friendly and warm to deal with and seem authentic. Breakfast buffet offers everything you need to be strengthened for hiking and offers a nice selection (only with a vegan diet it could be tight, which can generally still be improved in hotels in rural regions). The selection of cakes is large and the lunch and evening cuisine offers delicious and filling portions.The room facilities are also great for the price. Clean bathroom, large shower, comfortable beds and a TV if you want to get some radiation after a long hike. WiFi also works.So all in all, I can only warmly recommend a stay here. And I don't need to write much about the surrounding area - the Black Forest around the Albtal offers so many beautiful hiking routes and nature that you can get your feet sore here.Thank you for the lovely stay and see you next time :)

The apartment is a bit old, but very tidy and clean, offers almost everything we need for our stay, unfortunately the kitchen utensils (frying spoons, etc.) are not very practical. Breakfast in the dining room was extensive, with drink and egg service, and the buffet also had a good selection. The grilled trout with almond butter on the evening menu is highly recommended. The host was very helpful and polite. The price is fair and reasonable.

We visited Bad Herrenalb at Easter. Since my parents had a very good meal there on Good Friday, it was clear that we wouldn't look for anything and would go back on Easter Sunday...On the Easter menu was a sirloin dish with fries, wild garlic butter and mushrooms and a rump steak.We had 3x sirloin and a rump steak. First a loin plate came, then the second. The wild garlic butter was a little different than expected... It was melted butter with a few strips of wild garlic floating in it, and the 0.5 cm thick loins were just as disappointing... The fries were great but you can make mistakes there too, but we'll get to that in a moment more. This was followed by the rump steak... it was difficult to cut it... You could quickly tell that it was neither bloody nor medium rare, but rather raw. The steak went back. A sirloin dish was still missing... The steak then came back... Unfortunately it was tough as a shoe sole and very overgrown, so unfortunately not edible. You were kindly given a fresh portion of fries. However, they were only briefly dipped in the fat and were therefore raw. In the meantime the third dish arrived, which unfortunately had to be eaten alone.Things were similar at the next table too.Two out of 5 people were already eating until they realized in the kitchen that one dish was unfortunately out...So the service was very attentive but the kitchen... Poor...We also complained about everything... price reduction or something... none at all, just under €30 for a dish that wasn't touched... Yooooah...thumbs down.

You feel like you're in good hands. Friendly helpful attentive.... The old school of a hotel owner.We were a group of 7 people and were well looked after. Breakfast and dinner were very tasty, sufficient and simply an experience.And the hotel itself is worth the trip. A trip to the good old days. It was a pleasure. I'll be back.
