We had to wait a long time until we could get our room (6 hours). The food was pork and not everyone eats that, so it would be good if you were considerate of the others, or let them know straight away that it was pork. The rooms are small but nice, but there is all the dust in the rooms (between the cupboards there is only dust plus a sock that is completely dusty). The toilets smelled brutally of drains and were completely filthy. The only nice thing here is that the forest and the waterfall are right nearby. I've had nice experiences outside the youth hostel, but not here. And what's also annoying is the neighbor, but the youth hostel can't do anything about that.

The rooms in the log cabin are very small, as are the beds, which are 1.80 meters long. The food is perfectly fine. However, I really like the location of the youth hostel!

We stayed in the youth hostel near the Schliersee (an hour's walk), in Josephstal, for seven days.It reminds me of the youth hostels of the 80s/90s. Rustic and somehow charming. We had a six-bed room with three adults and two children and had enough space for a week. There were big dust bunnies under the beds, a cupboard door was broken and several screws on a loft bed were loose. But otherwise okay. There were bed linen (no towels). The sanitary facilities for men are a bit old, but things are much better for women. They also have three toilets, while the men often had to queue for just one (on the 1st floor). There are small lounges with board games and some books.Outside there is a playground with a stream, a fire pit and plenty of seating. There are also some parking spaces and more on the side of the road.WiFi is free and was available everywhere for us.rDinner was fine. Unfortunately, the dishes that were on the plan were often not available for all guests. Sometimes something was served late or a main course was only offered as a dessert.Often there wasn't enough dessert for all guests. The selection of bread and rolls at breakfast was often not enough for everyone.Water and tea were available at any time of the day or night. But two of the kitchen employees were the real deal. The older gentleman was extremely unfriendly to the guests and we were all loudly criticized outside in the courtyard. (Children should be beaten and things that I don't want to repeat here verbatim because of racism.)Dinner only lasted an hour from 6-7 p.m. and one evening we arrived shortly before seven when he farted stupidly at us. If the nice gentleman at the reception hadn't given us anything, we would have left empty-handed.All in all I would say 70% satisfaction, but at €1300 for a week it wasn't cheap accommodation either.

Rooms are clean and good. Unfortunately there is not WiFi in every room. Check-in, check-out and meal times a bit short. Unfortunately the pool table was broken. Food is tasty and available in sufficient quantities. Employees are very friendly and helpful.

I was on a school trip to the Schliersee youth hostel from July 15th to 19th, 2024. The food was a 10 out of 10 at the time, the kitchen staff made sure there weren't too many people at the buffet (thank you for that). The ice cream was available at the reception The rooms you can buy were very tasty, especially the vanilla ice cream. The rooms do not have a bathroom (except the double rooms) there are individual showers for the girls/women and for the boys/men there are several shower cubicles/toilet cubicles. The rooms are equipped with a table , beds, sinks and cupboards. Around the youth hostel you can discover the waterfall (about 10 minutes away), the Schliersee (about an hour's walk away) or the Spitzingsee (about 2 hours away).

As a family of 5, we spent 9 nights in the youth hostel during the Whitsun holidays. The stay was very good. We didn't miss anything. The staff is very friendly. The warm food in the evening is varied and tastes very good. The dish is available in meat and meat-free versions. The chef tries very hard to ensure that dishes are not served twice during the time you are there. He seeks feedback and responds to requests. This is unique. It's nice that the accommodation is in a quiet location and the children have space to play in front of the building. It is also positive that there are enough parking spaces, which is not always the case in youth hostels. At the time we were there, the facade was being renovated and the wooden paneling on the windows and balconies was being repainted, but that didn't bother us so much. We were informed about this in good time and had no restrictions as a result. We are completely satisfied and can fully recommend it.Thanks!

Away from Schliersee - getting there without a car is very difficult! Not within walking distance of Schliersee either, but in Neuhaus.Service friendliness underground.Unfortunately, so does the food. And the overwhelmed staff in the kitchen were also really unfriendly. 6:30 p.m., in the middle of dinner, when despite repeated requests there was only one dish with meat: “If that takes too long for you, you can eat outside!”I didn't understand what the lack of a vegetarian dish had to do with "taking a long time", but a lot of guests used the pizza delivery service. Good thing it's there too. 😀And the whole thing at Pentecost - at the beginning of the season - welcome to the end of Germany.
