Clean, friendly staff, good connections. The food is also good - I don't know what some people expect from a cheap place to stay for students?!? And there was an absolutely brilliant homemade cheesecake!!!!

This hostel is an example of successful sustainability in tourism: thanks to the attention and hospitality shown to me, I had a pleasant stay in the building, which probably dates back to the 1960s. In my opinion, a group of younger and older students felt very comfortable there. You can feel that a management experienced in the hotel industry is in charge here. Highlights include: quiet forest location, distant view of the city from the dining room, key safe for late arrivals, free bottle of mineral water in the spacious room.

Bad food, same thing every 2 days, no own bathroom, room out of date, food didn't taste good, you could buy snacks at the reception at certain times but it was never a pity anyone could give 0 stars

Location is good, just 15 minutes walk to the train station. Food tastes ok, only on one day some people had to go away empty-handed because there wasn't enough food. The toilets are dirty and rooms do not have their own toilets.

Not recommended."Mattresses" in the bed were like gym mats, not a slatted frame, but 3 boards with a few round holes in them. We all slept very badly.Overpriced. In the Rhineland-Palatinate youth hostels, the night with breakfast costs 90 euros for 2 adults with a child, here 107, in comparison the breakfast is minimalistic, the presentation is sad. At 20 minutes before 9 a.m. there was no more coffee, at the friendly request, which was kindly accepted by the kitchen help, but not by the kitchen management. In Rhineland-Palatinate (new Juhe concept) breakfast buffet like in a 5 star hotel. But even without comparing, the breakfast was just very "poor" bread was a bit hard.Rooms weren't really clean. A toilet on the ground floor is broken. Drinks machine no water/empty. Snack machine broken. The service person in the morning (not the kitchen help) was very unfriendly. The facility looks old and uninviting.

The vegetarian alternatives were not as desired. The rooms are acceptable, but a fly screen wouldn't hurt. For a short stay it's perfectly fine.

It is recommended to install fly screens in the room, when I was there before, bees flew in from outside and then flew into the hallway and into the men's room.I hope there is a “close door” sign on the bathroom door. If you shower behind the bathroom door, you don't know if everyone has closed the door, but you will be scolded for being too loud.(Use Google Translate, sorry for the strange expression.)

ES IST SEHR EMPFEHLENSWERT!IT IS WELL RECOMENDED!This place is really nice and clean. I do not know why there is a "one star" rating and said that the bathroom is dirty, but really it is well clean. Yes, it is a shared bathroom, and the lamp is in the middle, so it might be a little dark if you take a shower at midnight. But it is a nice and cozy hostel.This hostel is preferable for those who have some vacation around the Bodensee (with 2 or 4 people together). It is 1.5 KM far from the station, you might need some time to take a bus and walk to the hostel.Overall it is a really nice experience to stay.

Not recommended!!!It's a disgrace that food can be served like that. If health protection is there, then the youth hostel will be closed very quickly. There is hair eating, the showers are a disgrace because they are never cleaned. There are extremely dirty things in the toilets.

Window doesn't open properly, sockets are poorly positioned, it's rare that there's anyone at reception. The food doesn't really taste good and there's far too little served and there's not enough choice. The soccer field is very broken and the ball always rolls away. Either there is not enough food or it is bad (e.g. hair in the schnitzel, food is cold).

My stay was for 2 nights in February 2024. I read a few bad reviews beforehand and can't confirm them after my visit. Maybe these were written during a bad period and things have changed - I don't know...The hostel has plenty of space and several great common rooms with pianos, foosball tables and table tennis tables. The food is really okay (some visitors forget that they are not in a star restaurant and like to complain) and there was usually enough for everyone. The toilets, showers and rooms were all clean and I found the staff to be friendly (didn't speak to them much). The location is really relaxed and offers a good walk. If you're still hungry in the evening, you can walk a few meters down to the "Waldschenke" and treat yourself to something, and if you still need something, the nearest supermarket is only a quarter of an hour away.Really recommended for group visits, musicians.
